I visited the FAS & WINDOWS AND DOORS showroom in February of 2014. Here I was able to actually see what products were offered rather than just looking at a brochure. I met with one of their sales representatives briefly and set up a home visit. The home visit went well and the decision was made to order a set of French doors.
I was advised of the estimated timeline for the installation and paid the 50% deposit. Two months later I was contacted by the contractor utilized by FAS to advise of a date for the actual installation. Unfortunately upon arrival at my home on the assigned day, it came to light that the incorrect doors were sent. We did experience a bit of a vacuum of communication with FAS as to what had occurred and what would be the next step. However, eventually I was contacted by one of the owners of FAS and everything was set in motion again with a new installation date.
The contractors were timely ( both times ), extremely professional and the actual installation went very smoothly.I received a courtesy followup call again by the owner to make sure all went to my satisfaction.
The doors are phenomenal ...I receive compliments every time a new visitor comes to my home and sees the doors..
I definitely recommend their products and hope in the future to use FAS again for the replacement of windows in my home.

I was pleased from our first meeting. The owner was forthright and informative. Even though it was a small job, I did not feel unimportant. The day of installation, the team arrived promptly and worked efficiently. A very bad storm rolled in as they installed the last window, yet they persevered and finished the job. They cleaned up all the copious dust from cutting the old windows out and left the area very clear. The windows look great and time will tell if they are the quality promised, but I feel very confident from watching them work and their professional interaction.

Called for quote on 3-4-14. It took two weeks to get a salesman to arrive, measure, and estimate on 3-18-14.
Order was made same day and it took almost eight weeks to get the custom sized impact rated windows.
During that time, a couple of emails to the salesman asking for status updates were not returned.
I felt ignored but much later down the line, the salesman told me he had changed phones recently causing an email interruption.
The installers arrived on 5-12-14 and had all 11 openings changed out by the end of the day on 5-13-14. The installer went above and beyond on one of the windows that had some framing issues. Much thanks to him for not leaving me hanging on that issue and taking care of it. However, the first soaking rain that came resulted in a leaking front window where the arch window meets the double hung windows. Upon inspection, I found the stick-on trim piece between the arch and double hung had cracked caulking, if any at all. I felt it would take way too long for the company to respond to this and that it would come many more storms before they could come out to fix it, so I caulked it myself. This helped but during the next storm, I found that it did not correct all of the leaking probelms. I had to remove the inside trim piece and pull the inuslated foam out and test with a water hose to find where it was coming from. I later had to remove some siding and found that the rubber-gutter piece around the arch came down and met cracks about 1/8 inch big on both sides. My first attempt of caulking and closing the holes only fixed one side. I had to repeat the process again with filler and lots more caulk. And of course, I had to wait on the foam to dry out, test again the next day, and recaulk the trim piece back in place. It was a real pain having to work on this new stuff.
Also, I ended up having to recaulk the inside window seals and some windows all around -- for some reason, the caulking they did cracked down the middle of the caulk line. I really feel that for the amount of money I spent, I shouldn't have had to do all of this stuff... but I didn't want to use up my vacation time from work to wait and wait for someone to come back. Who knows how many visits it would have taken to get the leak fixed?
At the completion of the install, the installers were missing the screen door for the sliding door and one screen for a small window. They told me it would be two weeks to get it. At the end of those two weeks, I was told they were in the warehouse and just needed to be scheduled for install. It was another three weeks and two days before they were installed. And luckily, I was at home when the installer arrived.... because he didn't even know about the missing sliding door screen. He said it wasn't on his paperwork. But he "luckily" had one on his vehicle. If I was not at home, it would not have been installed and the wait would have started over again.
Now, on to the administration issue from their head office... When I tried to get my insurance discount applied, the insurance agency requested I get a letter with the company letterhead on it stating they installed the impact windows. I requested this from J.S. in the head office on 5-22-14 and she refused to provide this

request. She said I could have my agent call her and I arranged that only to find out later that she would not establish communication with the agent. I finally got the insurance discount applied without the letter but this refusal to assist in such a

matter really left a negative impression on me.
I did not have any problem getting the form filled out for the energy rebate from the electric company. It was filled out by somebody at the warehouse. I showed up there in person and they promptly filled it out and sent it back to me in the mail for signature.
Reason for ratings:
Price: B - Not sure about it, it's a lot of money, but they are double pane, argon filled, impact rated, custom fit to size. I should have done my homework better to know for sure.

Quality: B - Some windows needed spray lubricant right after install, installer mentioned springs break on them, and caulking developed cracks down the middle of caulk line
Responsiveness: C - Due to ignored message to sales in beginning, wait on scheduling and completion of missing items, and refusal of J.S. in admin to help.
Punctuality: A - When a schedule was finally made, they showed up around the time they said they would
Professionalism: B - This is a mixture involving communication & follow up... I feel it's lacking too much to be an A but most were polite and respectful. If I could rate the experience with head admin office - it would be a D.
Overall -- I'm glad it is done and over with.... I really wouldn't want to do it again though. If I needed to do window business in the future, I would use them again if I could get them to schedule promptly... but I would do my homework better before I decided.

All windows were first measured; then built at their factory. After about 5 weeks we were called to set up the install date. Install crew came as scheduled and all went smooth. No stucco removed so no painting required. Very pleased with the price, quality and workmanship. Be advised, these windows are not only very energy efficient , they are also hurricane rated about 170+ mph. Other estimates did not comes close to these guys in price or quality. Bottom line; we had

Wonderful professional service!
Arrived on time and successfully dealt with a tricky problem of a Chattahoochee stone deck which obstructed lifting the door out of the track. Cost was less that I was quoted!
This company was recommended by another top notch window repair person who did not cover my area.
As perfect as home repairs get.
Worth waiting for an appointment since this family-owned business (in

It went ok - I'll leave it at just ok. They were going to re-frame the front windows but since they didn't have to do that when the old paint came off with pressure washing they lowered the $3,400.00 original bill by $250.00. They tapped the facia boards, and found them ok - not sounding rotted out, so just covered the existing vinyl clad aluminum wrap with new rather than remove the old. They were to take away the old stuff, but instead left me with a bag of junk that had to be separated in order to carry it to the

for trash pickup due to the weight limits for the trash people - I couldn't lift the bag without it breaking.
Previously they re-screened the porch with a product called Petscreen, and did a good job with that. At that time they also changed out the front door, repair a foot section of another door frame that rotted, and installed a steel screen security door to keep the dogs in and cats out. I have two female cats in the screen porch, and one loves to climb the screens after bugs, so I can vouch for Petscreen being a great product, yes there are little holes from the claws, but no tears. The cat has been to the top of the 8' screens, and hanging there several times. An 11# cat I had trapped for neutering also had climbed to the top of these screens. Petscreen is vinyl clad fiberglass, and relatively expensive, but worth it. Without the bill in hand, it was was close to $3,000.00 for that job.

We had set up an appt. with
Orlando Window Installers Provider Name Locked
(
Orlando Window Installers Provider Name Locked
.) on Thurs. 6/12 at a time frame between 9-11. He showed up early which was fine an a lil impressive. My husband showed him the work that we wanted to do on the front of the house and proceeded to tell him that he would unlock the gate to the backyard to be able to access the back of the house. We asked him to knock on the door to let us know when he was ready to go over the windows and sliding glass doors at the back of the house. While my husband was unlocking the gate for him, I am assuming that he knocked on the front door, which of course my husband did not hear since he was in the back yard. So instead of waiting a few minutes and trying again or calling the phone number he had on hand for us, he just left. My husband proceeded to call him and asked him why he left and he said because we didn't answer the door. So he proceeded to tell my husband that he would return later in the afternoon to finish the estimate because he had appts. he had to go to at this time. Long story short, he never returned or called us back. We will not use him now or in the future. I find him disrespectful and unprofessional. Surprised he is recommended on Angies List.

People were professional but really pricey. They were pretty accurate about ordering window and installing. Previously I had tinted window but they said they don't do tinting that will cost me extra.
