Veterinarian Reviews in Orlando

The staff, and Dr. Perreult, in particiular, is friendly, professional, extremely thorough in dealing with me and the dog. The receptionist and all the staff members are friendly, caring professionals. Dr. Perreult took the time to research various dog foods for us to determine the best diet for our dog. I've had some good vets - no one has ever done this! He really does research - a great deal of it - and takes pain to have us understand various choices and conditions. Our dog's procedure went very smoothly and the staff was very helpful once our dog had recovered and was ready to go home. I can't praise this hospital enough.

This past visit was very routine and what one would expect from a vet. We had an appointment and the doctor got to us in timely fasion at our appointment time. He took quite a lot of time with us and made sure we understood basic care for our axolotl. Our previous visit was more remarkable. We had rescued an juvenile axolotl that had three legs eaten off by a tank mate. One of the legs was not healing and we discovered a growth on the stump. We called first thing about getting in. It was a saturday and there were no available appointments. We were scared about waiting two days. Dr
's office suggested that I could come right in and wait in case there was a cancellation. That was a very welcome opportunity. To make it even better, we were told that if there were no cancellations the doctor would see us at closing time after taking care of those with appointments. We arrived at 9AM prepared to wait until closing (1:00 that day) if necessary. Luck was with us and after about an hour someone called to say they were going to be late and the doctor took that time to take care of us. The growth was lint that collected on the stump because the bone was sticking out. The doctor had to cut the leg off cleanly above the bone (axolotls do regrow lost limbs). He then gave us an antibiotic with instructions on how to dilute it down to a strength suitable for a 3 inch amphibian. We followed the instructions and the little guy recovered without further infection. The doctor made a great impression on us that day.

I chose, and made an appointment with Dr.
Orlando Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
before we even brought the puppy home for the first time. During our first appointment Dr.
Orlando Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
talked with us for a good half an hour about puppy care, the fact that there is a hawk in the area that would be dangerous for our new family addition and how to protect the pet etc. During the exam he took his time and explained to us what he was doing and why. Several months later we elected to have Dr.
Orlando Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
neuter our pet. He and his staff were very caring and took the time to pull some puppy teeth that did not come out on there own at no charge. They always call to check up on our dog following injections, bouts of stomach issues etc. If I call to schedule an appointment they really work hard to fit me in. It is obvious that Dr.
Orlando Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
is a great vet and he employs a great staff as well.

I went to Dr.
Orlando Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
at Lake
Orlando Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
Veterinary and from the beginning to
the end of my appointment he was nothing short of rude. If I had any
questions he would brush them off and seemed aggravated with me. He had
no idea what was wrong with my dog and I spent over $100 dollars for my
dog to come home still sick with no answers. He kept blaming them on
allergies which is what his answer is for everything. This doctors
bed-side manners were terrible and I walked out feeling ripped off and
taken advantage of. Please think twice before going to Dr.

I am writing this almost a year after the visit. I had a terrible experience, but Dr.
Orlando Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
left the practice several months afterwards so I didn't submit a review. The vets who had been there for many years, Drs.
Orlando Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
Orlando Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
Delmain were still there and are fantastic feline vets, Dr.
Orlando Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
is one of only 4 board certified (ABVP) feline specialists in the state of Florida, and the only one in the
Orlando Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
area. Dr.
Orlando Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
focused on surgery and dentistry and they took great care of my 7 cats and were always friendly and willing to discuss their care. This practice is owned by a NY corporation, Pet Partners USA, whose business model is to make it appear like a locally owned business, even though it's not. They recently terminated the Delmains and brought back Dr.
Orlando Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
(who calls herself a cat specialist since she limits her practice to cats, but she is not ABVP certified), so I felt it necessary to share my bad experience. Dr.
Orlando Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
joined the practice a couple months or so before the 8/25/2011 visit. I had talked to her prior to that day and told her I was an MD who liked to research feline medicine and ask a lot of questions and she said that was great and she liked the challenge. My cat,
Orlando Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
, had been vomiting and having abdominal pain since the night before so I brought her in. Dr.
Orlando Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
did an exam and xrays, and sent off blood work. She thought an area on the xray was either a normal loop of bowel or a mass and said she might want to do an ultrasound. When the blood results came in, she said that she felt it was quite likely cancer based on one of the results, a low T4. In humans I know that any acute or chronic illness, even trauma or fasting, can cause a low T4 and it's not specific for cancer, but couldn't find any reference for cats at the time. I've since learned it's the same for them. She wanted to do an ultrasound the next day and I agreed, but as
Orlando Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
improved that evening I started to wonder why there would be such a rush because if it's cancer it wouldn't matter if we found out that day or the next week, why stress her out unnecessarily when she was starting to improve? She did not give
Orlando Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
any pain meds despite the fact she obviously had significant abdominal pain - I used some leftover meds that day. The next morning I called early to ask if it would be a reasonable plan to hold off on the ultrasound for now, and instead of discussing it, she blurted out strongly "Whatever you want!". I said I'm not a vet and asked if in her experience that would be a reasonable course of action, and she again forcefully said "whatever you want!", then cut off the call. Entirely inappropriate and unprofessional. She called back about 10 minutes later, said "it's me again" and at least gave me the opportunity to discuss her medical management and ask for pain meds since I was almost out. She again pushed for the ultrasound saying it may not be metastatic cancer but may be operable, but since it was a Friday I asked if they would operate that day and she said they wouldn't . Then she said that it could be something else like an abscess, but when I asked she said they would try antibiotics before surgical drainage, so again there didn't seem to be any reason to rush into it. I also felt, though never brought up, that if an ultrasound is needed, I would prefer it be done by the board-certified radiologist who does them all day every day with her state of the art equipment and had performed one with biopsies on one of my other cats, instead of a regular vet who does them occasionally using an old machine.I waited until at least an hour after I was told the pain med would be ready, but when I got there, the staff person at the desk very politely said that they had gotten busy and had to log in a new batch so it would be a few more minutes. I had no problem with that, but then Dr.
Orlando Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
came out and also said it would be a few more minutes, so I offered to come back as I had another errand to run and she just said "whatever you want" again and walked off. Obviously, since I was standing there, what I wanted was the medication and there was no need for that attitude when I was trying to be nice and give them more time.
Orlando Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
recovered from her illness and didn't get the ultrasound. I was forced to conclude from this that Dr.
Orlando Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
absolutely could not tolerate being questioned about her recommendations and/or was very upset about the lost revenue opportunity. I would guess it's some of both, though perhaps more of the latter, especially since it's corporate-owned and there's likely constant pressure to generate more revenue. Either way, I became suspicious of her motivations and lost all confidence in her judgement and made sure my cats' care was only with the Delmains after that. Now that they are no longer with the practice, I will not be going back to

I thought they were very fair in pricing. I can say that because of the fact that for 3 years we had to take our cat every single week for fluid associated dehydration. They were very good. They even offered to come to the house a couple of times, which never happens. For one thing, we have used them for years. Whenever we had an issue with her and wanted to make an appointment, we would call up and they would just say they would look at it right away. They clipped her nails. They were just fine. They had to put her to sleep. She always hated for us to do her nails or clean her ears or anything. When they bring her out, they would say that she was just a princess for them. If we ever needed to, we would use them again in the future.
- Gregory S.

I have used them for the last five years. I have never had any issue with them. They are perfectly good. They are convenient and their prices are competitive. Normally, I can get in there soon if I need to. I will continue to use their services.

Since 2004, I have taken my 3 cats to
Orlando Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
Vet. Although my main vet doctor is
Orlando Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
, I have found the other veterinarians in
Orlando Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
's practice to be equally caring and competent. Over the years, the office staff (particularly the reception staff) have significantly improved in their professionalism. Cleanliness has always been another strong area of this facility.

Another area of service that I would like to comment on, is the readiness for this animal clinic to be there when you need them, albeit on a very busy day or a holiday.

Finally, after having taken my cats to other veterinary clinics in the
Orlando Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
area, and also one of NYC's top veterinary clinics when I lived there, I feel assured that my pets are in excellent care. And, in spite of the fact that my cats hate going to the vet, they're at least confortable with the demeanor of all the staff and veterinarians... which is extrememly important to me.
