" and his associate installed a solid wood door and a sidelight in to the entrance to the dining room turned study/home" office of my home. The original function of the room was as a area so the opening was not shaped to accommodate a door of any normal size. So either the opening had to be closed in around the door as some contractors suggested or a sidelight could be added to it as others suggested but either way the opening was not the right size so framing had to be done. I decided quite quickly that was my guy after he came out and did an estimate on March 26th. During this time he did the estimate and pointed out some other areas of my home that needed attention. He did not do it in a way to garner more business, as a matter of fact he never suggested he could do it or suggest anyone who could he just knew it needed attention and told me about it. Thank you . The estimate. Well I think originally we had a misunderstanding of the scope of work and it probably stemmed from me not knowing what exactly I wanted. In the end, there was a lot of work done, squaring the opening, tearing out and re-framing a wall, framing the door, hanging the door, framing in the side light, patching drywall and painting. Did I mention that it was not possible to find a door and matching sidelight from a local source? had to stain all of the wood, frame, door, sidelight and trim to all make a reasonable match. He could not guarantee an exact match because each part was a different wood species and he forgot his magic wand. The price I paid was fair or more than fair for 2 guys and about 3 days of work and over a weekend as well. So his skill and professionalism are unquestionable. As for character, he is a nice guy as demonstrated by the initial visit and while the work was being done. You don't always find skill and a good attitude to go with it. Even more so, before he even knew for sure he was going to do the job he put up with my incessant texting (there were over 70 I counted). So all went well, I like the door and the quality. Here it is 7 months later and I am not unhappy with a bit of it. Thanks !

-Kenneth M.

"Job went surprisingly well, considering that a lot of things were going on at once in the two main bedrooms in the house. had to scramble" to meet the timetable he set, but he pulled it off with only a small punch list at the end. I was particularly happy with the bookcases he made. worked from a contract price, not an estimate. The price you see is the price you get.

Picture Framing reviews in Orlando

We joined Angies's List to find new contractors and craftspeople not afraid of old houses and the challenges they present to help us build a period-correct two car garage with studio/office above. While this project was still developing, we bought another old bungalow to renovate that had been neglected and had bad updates for 97 years. While in ...More the discovery phase of what the house needed, it was determined the bathrooms needed to be gutted completely to replumb and rewire. We had hoped to save some of the original flooring and tile, but there was too much rotten framing and wood underneath from leaking plumbing and termites. The house also needed to have some old framing replaced/restored back to its original positioning from previous remuddling/additions.
We researched Bath Remodelers/Handymen and many were months out if they could even give us an estimate. We needed someone to help us get the bathrooms and closets reframed right away so we could stay on track for the plumbers. We called for an estimate and made an appointment for the next day. was genuinely excited to come out and look at the old house and what we needed to keep us on track. We agreed on a price for him to come out for a few days that he had free between larger projects. was on time (early usually), honest, fair, and professional. Most importantly, he was not afraid to dive in where others feared to tread. was always enthusiastic and we could barely keep up with him at times. He did what we needed fast, but still with attention to the details we needed addressed.

We love old houses and the character and soul they have over new houses. Having said that, it is hard to find skilled contractors willing to do the work, for a reasonable price. was all of those things and he helped us immensely. We hope to use him and his skills for more of the project when we are further along and ready. When he noticed we shared a love for plants and landscaping, he brought us some herbs he had propagated from his garden.

We built our custom home 19+ years ago, so when we set out to obtain quotes for this project we know what we wanted could be done, but that it might be a bit out of the norm in today's "make a quick-buck" construction industry. We were willing to pay a fair price for the extra service, but were surprised by the lack of customer service ...More of some of contractors that we encountered. Newley and his team were truly refreshing.
This was a 2 item project; 1) Dormers and 2) Front Door
1) Dormers
During the contractor selection process of this portion of the project Newley actually got on the roof to measure the windows (yes, we actually had 1 contractor that didn't think he needed to measure the windows to obtain our business). We wanted the new Impact-Resistant "Hurricane Rated" windows to be the same style as the existing window, which had a white colonial/ grid across the glass and the top had an "eyebrow" or curve to it. One contractor told us they couldn't get the Impact-Resistant "Hurricane Rated" window with the grid and the window he could get would be a square window, with no curved top like the existing window. When Newley quoted the project he stated the new window would be replace in whatever style we wanted and it was in fact replaced with the same style window including the grid and "eyebrow". The windows were ordered and even though they took a few weeks to come in, Newley contacted us about 1 week prior to the delivery date to let us know they were scheduled to arrive, we were grateful for the communications. We provided Newley the original house plans and he created new plans and the nec'y documentation for Orange County Florida permitting. Newley and his team removed and replaced the board siding, weather wrap and trim. Newley and his team paid attention to detailed especially with the precision cuts made on the board siding and trim around the "eyebrow" windows. The workmanship of this project was very important to us and turned out to be world-class, we were not disappointed. In addition, the installation met and exceeded the requirements for the Orange County inspection. The work was completed on-time, on budget and the construction debris was cleaned up and taken away.
2) Front Door
During our contractor selection process for this portion of the project we also talked to several contractors explaining what we wanted done with the front door, which was to just replace the existing leaded glass with new leaded glass and cover it with the Impact-Resistant "Hurricane Rated" glass OR take the existing leaded glass and put it between the Impact-Resistant "Hurricane Rated" glass and put it back in place. Our existing front door is beautiful, it's in excellent shape and we love it, so we just didn't want a new front door. Like many people we are trying to be more environmentally conscious, so when we do a house project we are trying to "not just replace something for the sake of replacing it". We just wanted to maintain the original design of the door, but make it more safe and storm resistant. One contractor said we would have to replace the entire front door because what we wanted to do couldn't be done, another contractor said they didn't do that kind of work so they wouldn't even entertain a bid on this portion of the project. Newley of came out to our house to discuss our project and said they could either cover or replace the windows, but he wanted to check with his window distributor to see which made better sense for what we were trying to accomplish. A few days later we spoke with Newley and he stated it would be best to just put 1 piece of Impact-Resistant "Hurricane Rated" glass over the existing leaded glass. He had also researched my leaded glass windows and determined that if we decided the leaded glass windows were not salvageable once they dismantled the windows he could order a very similar pattern for me, thereby maintaining the original door design as much as possible. 's pricing was very reasonable and Newley made sure we completely understood what was going to transpire and we signed the contract feeling confident he knew what we wanted done. We want to make a point here to demonstrate the broad expanse of experience this company has to offer the consumer by sharing the following; The original leaded glass was secured with a wooden oval beveled piece of trim and Newley had to actually make the same identical beveled wood trim in order to complete the install of the newly secured Impact-Resistance "Hurricane Rated" leaded glass window. As a homeowner, we are delighted to have found a contractor that can actually perform all aspects of a project. During the installation Newley and his team were very focused, workmanship was world-class and his team was extremely polite.
Newley is great at communicating what is going to be done, what is being done and what has been done. In other words, he keeps you informed throughout the process and as a homeowner we appreciated this very much. Newley may be a young man, but this young man has a tremendous amount of knowledge and business experience. As a result of his workmanship and professionalism, we are currently using him for another project!

I contacted and from the time they picked up the phone to the time they finished the project they were the most professional Construction company we have had the pleasure to work with. Heater was great to answer all my questions. When work was being done the on site Project Manger was so easy to talk ...More to and make suggestions to allow for longevity of the work done. They put in extremely long hours to get this project done before my family came back from the beach.

was first contracted on January 2011. In the beginning we were paying him as he would finish each segment of the job which was like pulling teeth, because every time, we were promised a finished date, there would always be an excuse, like (my grandmother died or I go robbed and I was in the hospital) What should have been a ...More 3 month job from start to finish we are now in the eleventh month ( we are now in November,2011). In trying to make a long story short because I was a fool and trusting him with other side jobs, WILL HAS DISAPPEARED and has gone MIA. It's been almost 3 months in trying to reach him and he has blocked our phone calls. We have given him the deposit to buy materials for the master bedroom addition that we are in the midst of constructing and and he had left abandoned, job unfinished. I had given him deposit for the grass and a/c to buy the unit and here we are $4,000.00 in the hole. Even though he did give us a good price, he is not a man who honors his word, he hasn't finished any of the work such as the tilework in the bedrooms, kitchen cabinet installation, tile countertops, backsplash in the kitchen and bathroom, carpet in the bedroom, exterior texture and exterior paint, installation of insulation, and finishing work in the master bedroom, electrical work in the kitchen, a/c unit purchase and installation, installation of topsoil and grass, all of we had paid deposits on and we had contracted him to do and, just like other unfortunate consumers have been fooled by this worthless so-called "contractor'. After more than 100+ phone calls, texts, voice mail messages left, he doesn't even bother to return our calls. It has also come to the point where he has blocked our phone numbers from his cell phone and Wife's cell phone. I do ask if you ever come into contact with Mr. , please be wary and know that this past client would like to warn you that you will be fooled and the work will never be finished. I would not recommend him in any way, shape or form. Someone that is honest and reliable is one that you will need, someone who doesn't give excuses that "my dog died" or "I got hit in the head and was in the hospital"...someone who is reliable and shows up when they say, completes work upon deadlines and knows how to handle obstacles and tell the client when they happen is what you want as a client/consumer --these are not the traits of Mr. . I would never recommend him not use him in any future jobs or any friend or relative.

first came out to the house to give me an estimate. He was punctual for botht the estimate and the installaton of the doors. Upon removal of the doors, found more wood rot thatn expected, but removed the rot and contined on with the job- 's estimate was only 30.00 dollars ...More more than the original quote due to the excess rot...I was extremely happy when I returned home from work and saw my new doors. had no issue with moving a table that was in his way and was extremely neat.
- Kathy R.

As usual, everything went perfectly! That's not to say there weren't unknowns encountered along the way but that problem solved as things came up and the end product was perfect!
- Jorge B.

These gentlemen went above and beyond my expectations! Everything was done well. They treated my home like it was their own. They were courteous and polite and respectful of my belongings. They take pride in their work and always worked to ensure they were getting things right. They were always very upfront about money and costs, and I never once ...More felt like I was getting cheated or could have gotten a better deal somewhere else (which is my nature). I will unhesitatingly hire them again. My only reservation in writing this review is that you all will discover them and they will no longer have time for my small projects!
- Adrienne L.

delivers a top-quality final product. Family owned, they specialize in conservation and memorabilia framing, framed mirrors, and shadow boxes. Cook always remembers us and remembers our preferences with regard to frame and mat styles, which is quite a fete since there are many, many frame and mat selections ...More to choose from at the shop. When presented with a unique framing challenge in the past, he offered outstanding suggestions.
