"I was extremely impressed with how prompt he was to come look at the job after we requested an estimate. He did a great job pointing us in the right direction for" where to look for tile and who had the best selection. We were able to purchase the tile at cost and he purchased all of the other materials. During the job he was always on time and he was very thorough to make sure that everything turned out the way I had pictured. I couldn't be happier with the way the entire job went and I will definitely be using this company again for other projects. I'm glad I paid the extra money to have someone who takes a lot of pride in his work and has great work ethic.

-Melissa W.

"I recently moved into a new home and quickly found that the space for the fridge in the kitchen was not large enough to accommodate a modern fridge. Even most cabinet" depth fridges would've stuck out past the adjoining doorframe making it difficult to pass through into the kitchen. Apart from completely redoing the entire kitchen or putting in a fridge that blocked off the main entry to the kitchen the only other option would be to move the wall behind the fridge back to create greater depth for the fridge. I had a couple contractors come evaluate the job and was told by some that they could only move it back an inch or two without going into the next room behind the wall (which is a sitting room/parlour type area) which they explained wouldn't look right.
evaluated the project and not only was confident they could push the wall back far enough to accomodate the fidge but had the idea to put in custom cabinets/bookshelves on each side of the section that now protruded into the adjoining room in order to given the appearance of a linear wall that was "meant" to be there. The staff that actually worked the job were professional, efficient, and courteous. There were only one small delay in the initially planned timeline which was on me (actually Best Buy) given I needed to use the hole
created in the wall to move the fridge into the kitchen (the other doorways were too small). So they couldn't start re-building the wall until after the fridge was in place and Best Buy did not deliver on time to say the least. Overall I was very impressed with the final product. The house has old custom crown molding which they took off the old wall and put back on the new wall and looks seamless. They also fixed some peeling dry wall tape in 2 corners of the room. When painting the wall and corners of the room they took it upon themselves to touch up spots on the rest wall that needed new paint. After completion the dust and debris was well cleaned. The vision that
had at the beginning that we agreed to is what we got and my wife and I are very happy with the results.

Angie's Answers

You need a general contractor - prefereably one who specializes in additions, because you have excavation, waterproofing, concrete, concrete cutting, carpentry, door and window, etc trades to coordinate.

The cost will depend a great deal on your topography around the house - if the base of the window will be above ground level at least 6 inches, then could run about $500 for a legal egress window purchase and about $1000-2000 for installation, depending on how deep into the concrete you have to cut.

If the bottom of the window will be below ground level, then to call it a bedroom (which mandates legal sized second egress and usauully at least one window)  then you will have two choices - bring it out into a solid watertight concrete storm cellar with collar to keep water out, stairs, and and weather and bug-tight cellar door that is inward-opening, which means a lot of space for stairs and landings top and bottom, or bring it out into an oversized window well at least 36 inches in diameter, and with steps to ground level, with adequate drainage and waterproofing to keep it dry. Either way, sometimes about as easy to put in an outside door as a window, and might raise property value more. Cost from $2-5,000 depending on how deep into concrete wall you have to dig, whether concrete wsall needs reinforcing with steel frame because of the depth of cut, how easy the digging is, and what your water conditions are near the foundation. The last thing you want to do is create an easy water or vermin ingress with your egress.

Dictated by Federal LAW , you will need a Licensed and EPA Certified HVAC Contractor

to make such repairs . In fact , by law , ONLY A licenesed HVAC contractor can buy or install

said eguipment , NOT A handyman nor general contractor !

YES , You should have an A.C. sleeve surrounding the through the wall unit . These sleeves will usually accompany NEW products , either as a package or an add on equipment purchase.

Contact a Licenesed PROFFESSIONAL at once !

It depends on what type of ramp you need. If it is built out of wood you could look for a carpenter or a deck company. If you are looking for a concrete ramp a mason would be what you are looking for. There are also metal ramps and I believe some medical supply companies may carry them or be able to steer you in the right direction. As for insurance coverage I am not sure. You may have coverage and would be best talking to your agent. Depending on why you need this ramp there may even be programs through your local government or even some of the local charities might help. It might be a project a local Scout Troop might help out on.

Oklahoma City General Contractors Provider Name Locked
called me that evening to confirm the appointment and showed up exactly at 8 the following day.
Oklahoma City General Contractors Provider Name Locked
reviewed the situation and discussed what was needed with me and went to work. He cleaned off and sealed the area where water appeared to be coming in and showed me some termite damage around the window. After the next rain I will let him know if seal is holding okay and then he will come back out and repair the sheetrock damage. The entire process was very professional and efficient. I have used
Oklahoma City General Contractors Provider Name Locked
before and recommend them.

Oklahoma City General Contractors Provider Name Locked
is a true craftsman. Over three days to rehab, jamb, and install a mortise lock he had all the tools and knowledge necessary to make a 100 year old door look like it'd been installed in the house for the last 100 years. Now the door is sealed and looks great! The mortise lock itself took several hours to modify and install.
We plan on having
Oklahoma City General Contractors Provider Name Locked
back to install a similar mortise lock set in our front door and possibly rebuild that jamb as well.
- James F.

The provider's work was very precise, and he even improved on my own ideas for the projects. The study cabinets and shelves are impressive and look like high-end quality furniture. All the projects exceeded my initial expectations and are now some of my favorite parts of my house.
- Jane M.

Oklahoma City General Contractors Provider Name Locked
showed up to work on the door when he had promised. He had told my husband what materials he would need, so we had them waiting for him when he arrived. He took down our door, and reframed the opening. He then adjusted the hinges on the door and rehung it. Now, for the first time since we have owned the house (2000), we can close the door quietly and not hear traffic from the nearby parkway or feel air coming into the house from around the door. We feel like we live in a new home.
- Kell M.

Asked him to come bid job on hole in eave and broken wooden gate. He said I was not really in his area, I said I would call someone else, he said that he would do the job. Came out, gave me a bid, said it would be done within a week. He never didn't call or show u for 3 weeks until I posed a very bad report on Angie's List. Once I posted my first very negative report he called immediately and apologized for not calling me before the 3 weeks had passed but he had been waing for cooller weather (we had had 5 days of cloudy weather in those 3 weeks), he asked me if I staill wanted him to fix the items and I said yes, IF he was going to do it, he said I was on the schedule for the following Wednesday. He did show up on Wednesday (8-31-11) and did a very good job on the gate and eve (now I see why he has such great reviews). The price was fair. I don't know if I would use him again because of the issue with time. I have a lot of work that needs to be done on this old house but. This is very disappointing as I would really like to find a reliable person to call.
- tamara M.

this company basically did some trim carpentry work; he worked fast and everything was done right ; my skills are not that bad but this guy is really, really good.
- robert S.

This went terribly. Mr.
Oklahoma City General Contractors Provider Name Locked
has no sub contractor contacts. We now know that he does not have these due to short payment or lack of payment all together to these people in the past. We were told that he had credit accounts at local vendors, lumber yards etc and that he would bill us when needed. He asked for several draws in which we now know this money did not go towards our home construction. The only licensed subs he brought to our job left early due to payment issues. We have several subs who have contacted us about payment even though he was to pay them with the money he requested. We later found out that our
Oklahoma City General Contractors Provider Name Locked
In plumbing inspection failed 6 times and the Mechanical failed twice because instead of hiring a professional he did the work himself and still never finished the job. What work he did complete is a complete disaster. We have not even moved into the house and the roof needs a complete replacement. he never started framing in the fireplace, which increased our cost of installing one. He finally left the job which was a good send for us but before he did instead of taking the waste off to the dug holes with a skid steer front end loader in which we rented and pushed the waste in and buried it on our property. We have a lawsuit pending against this person but I would recommend that if this person comes around when looking to find a GC for a remodel or any building contractor work just simply send him walking.

Oklahoma City General Contractors Provider Name Locked
kept me informed and showed me everything that they were doing to fix my problem and got my okay before doing anything. They cleaned up their work area well. It has now been a year and the repairs have held up very well. I intent to call him to do some similar work on another part of this old house. The price was higher than the original estimate but this was because the stems were found to be rotted under the siding so they had to be replaced as well.
