"They had a wide range and they explained the various options as well as answered some questions I had. They kept my best interest in mind."

"I asked for an oil change "special" that included improved formula oil and a tire rotation for about $45. I said at the time I brought the car for service that I wanted tires rotated even if it did not appear necessary. They agreed. At check-out, ...more the tires had not been rotated. They said it was because it didn't appear necessary. They offered no refund, said the special price was the same whether they rotated or did not rotate, since they determined if it was necessary. I reminded them of the early morning agreement. They never apologized for the inconvenience, but said if I would bring the car in the next day they would rotate the tires.
It is too much trouble to bring a car in twice for such a
I also had a head lamp replaced at the same service date - it is aimed too high. "

I normally try and shop locally. In the past I was a regular customer at
's. However, when they sold to a national chain their service and prices went downhill fast and I avoid them now at all cost.
The only reasons I did not buy from
's was because
agreed to beat their price (
's would not budge), they gave me a non-prorated warrant, had the tires in stock, have many locations throughout the US in case service work is needed and they guaranteed to have me on my way within 40 minutes (
's said I'd need to leave it for a couple of hours).
I used the
located on South Shields Blvd and I-240. The employees were friendly and professional. I was also in and out within 30 minutes.
So far a great experience, though I haven't yet taken it in for rotation or warranty work.
"They replaced the wrong tie rod, leaving the bad one. They charged me for an alignment, but DID NOT DO IT. I took it to the Chevy dealer the next day who found the plastic blocks that must be removed in an alignment were intact. They charged me $30 to "fix" my ABS wire, causing my ABS hub to malfunction and require replacement at the dealer, ...more part costing $350! The dealer took photos to prove the error and gave me the replaced tire rod. When confronted with this evidence,
"I work the night shift, so I was there about 10 minutes before they opened, but they didn't hesitate to let me in. Because I do most of my shopping at this time, I know this a very rare occurrence. Well, after realizing that the brand of wheels I wanted wasn't available,
spent close to an hour letting me go through ...more his catalogs and calling his distributors for prices until I found something I could live with. He promised me that he would have them there ready for install the next morning. Sure enough, the next morning they were waiting for me to arrive after work. They got started right away and must have had multiple people working on it, because they had the old wheels/tires off and the new ones mounted, balanced, and installed in less than 2 hours. They even bought me a Coke because I don't drink coffee, which they provide free of charge, and to top it off, I get free rotation and balancing for the life of the tires. You can't go wrong with
"Service Visit 1: I called the corporate office and told them what happened (see above). A supervisor met me at the I-240 location and asked the manager there to take a look and see if they could find anything wrong. All he could find was a slight amount of play in the wheel bearings which wasn't even listed as a problem on the original report). ...more The supervisor had them fix the bearings free of charge and even gave me $100 for my trouble. He admitted
's had failed the customer and that he personally would look into it. I was very pleased with the supervisor's attitude and concern. Service Visit 2: Supervisor had me take my son's SUV to the Crossroads location. They agreed the inspection was not done properly. They gave me my money back for the inspection and did a free break job on the SUV. They could not repair the horn or boots. Service Visit 3: Took the car back to the Air Depot location and they filled the tires, re-aligned the car and refunded the original charge. Service Visit 4: Still going on since it just happened this morning. However, the manager promised I could bring the car back tomorrow and they would fix the glove box. We'll see. Fact is
's was much better when it was locally owned. Ever since it was sold the brand name has become tarnished. I'm sure they are just fine at selling and installing tires - but I would not have ANY mechanical work done (at least not at the Air Depot location)."
"Work was promptly scheduled and quickly completed on time and at the quoted price. In addition, even though I had already asked about having them perform a wheel alignment, they pointed out a loose tie rod end and suggested I return to the shop that performed my last alignment and have that garage correct their error and redo the alignment. They are ...more fast, honest, and very efficient. Next time, I will buy my tires from them, too."
"Extremely friendly. They appear very thorough, which means it is not inexpensive, but it's reasonable. The rotate and balance was a bit pricey (almost double) compared to others for the same work, but I would trust them for the big repairs in the future."
