"Mr.
Norfolk Tree Services Provider Name Locked
came to my house to give me an estimate on tree trimming. He told me first off that he wouldn't be able to perform the work because my trees are very tall and he doesn't have a bucket truck. However, he very graciously proceeded to examine my trees and give an assessment of their general health and what he would recommend having done to them. He gave me the names of three companies he's familiar with that have bucket trucks, and recommended that I get an estimate from all of them. He was friendly and quite professional."

"They were quick to respond, gave a competitive quote and very professional. They even neatly stacked bricks they found buried around the base of the tree. When they left the ground was level and the area was free of debris."

Living with trees in the Pacific Northwest

Large trees like Douglas firs provide wonderful benefits for your yard, but the bigger they are, the harder they fall. A Seattle-area contractor offers tips to make sure your trees are healthy and not prone to falling over.

Lessons from the Bradford pear trees

Once mature, Bradford pear trees often split apart. (Photo courtesy of David Lusk of Lusk Tree Care Services)

Planted extensively in the ’80s and ’90s, the Bradford pear tree became a dominant feature in many subdivisions, on commercial properties and in parking lots. All was well until 15 or more years after planting.

How to plant a tree

'"Right Tree, Right Place’ should take into account the mature size of the tree, not the size you want it to be, as well as ensuring the soil, water, sunlight and climate factors are all favorable for the tree species you are planting,” says Wes Kocher of the ISA. (All photos by Mike LaFollette)

Planting a tree is an easy job, but it takes more skill than you might think. The following tree-planting tips can help ensure you plant a tree that thrives.

3 common tree diseases

Trees add both beauty and value to your property, but like all good things, they also have a downside. Diseases and other conditions can quickly turn a living, vibrant tree into a pile of dead wood.

"We had a big wind that knocked down a tree on a Saturday.
Norfolk Tree Services Provider Name Locked
was out of town but was to return on Sunday. He called me when he returned, came out on a Sunday and gave me an estimate and scheduled the work for later in the week. He told me if my son could haul away the wood to the community woods in the back of our neighborhood that we would save money for the job and he would come out and grind the stump. My son was able to work off a debt from money he had borrowed and

took care of the rest. He does great work, is prompt, courteous and knows what he is doing. I will be referring my friends and family to

came out and gave us an estimate. We accepted his estimate after having 2-3 other companies come out and give us an estimate as well. They are very reasonable and are very knowledgeable. I recommended them to an elderly neighbor as well, she also used them and was very impressed with their work. I would recommend them to any one who needs a honest tree service. Great jobs guys!"

"They gave us an estimate and time frame and were on course with both. They do exceptional work with one problem some of stuff they ground up was not fine enough to use as mulch."

responded within a few days of our initial call and came out for a walk through shortly thereafter and we agreed on a price of $790.00. He explained that he would contact us within the next two weeks and arrange for a time to do the job. Less than a week later he called in response to another question we had about a some limbs we had not included and when he came out to see that tree, told us he could be here the next day. (We agreed that the additional tree might need total removal some time in the future, but was not going to be included in this job). My husband and I went to work the next morning and when we got home went to inspect the job. If we had not known that they were going to be there, we would not have known that anyone had been in the yard! The limbs were gone and the only visible evidence of the work was a tiny bit of sawdust on one hydrangea. Everything was exactly as we had left it that morning, except that the limbs were gone!

called later that evening and asked if we approved the work and was able to come over that evening to pick up our check. We are very happy.

"We had a very tall and treacherous pine tree removed in our side yard. I've been concerned for a while about some of the branches coming down and hitting either my house or my neighbor's house and causing damage.

came out and gave us an estimate that was MUCH lower than other companies so we went with him. We were able to get an appointment within a week and the morning of, he and his crew came out and, limb by limb, carefully took down the tree, shredded the branches and carried off all the logs from the tree. I regret not having him grind the stump (will call him back for that) that day but plan to rehire him to trim some other trees. He is a very nice man and was very cautious. Didn't leave a bit of a mess (not including saw dust which can't be helped) Overall, I was VERY please with him and his service."

"We are very satisfied with the service.

came the same day as contacted and gave a free estimate for the work, honored the promised Angie's List discount and returned within 2 days to do the actual work. They were considerate of the other plantings, efficient in the removal, and very neat in cleaning up afterward."

"The work was very satisfactory, except that he is limited to trimming trees 20 feet in height or lower due to a lack of equipment and personnel outside those limits. There were some higher limbs on one tree that I would have liked to get trimmed. Kregg is very personable and tells you up front what he can do, so that is to his credit."
A
"I heard about Kregg through friends in the neighborhood who hired him to do some landscaping and gave me his card. Throughout the entire process, he was professional and courteous. He got the job done quickly, efficiently, and carefully. He put a great deal of time and thought into the job and considered aesthetics. He didn't just "cut away" at the trees. And he cleaned everything up and disposed of all branches and leaves. And what he charged was very reasonable. Now he is going to draw up a plan for some extended landscaping around the house."
