"This job required scaffolding which they erected and removed. They did an outstanding job and used high quality paint that is able to stand up to our severe beach conditions--high wind-blown sand. Excellent job and no problems."

"Workman were very responsive. Arrived on-time, worked at a good pace, did excellent work. I am more than happy with their services, and have already hired them to do additional home repairs."

How to get your HOA to approve your house painting project

If you live in a community with a homeowners association (HOA), gaining the board's approval before you paint your home's exterior is an essential requirement.

Finding a contractor for lead paint removal

Angie’s List member Steve T. of San Diego hired highly rated Paintgreen to remove lead paint from his garage. He says company owner, John Ray, “was patient and went over and beyond to make sure all work was done to the letter of the law.” (Photo courtesy of Steve T.)

Millions of homes built before 1978 still contain lead paint. EPA guidelines now mandate safe cleaning practices for lead paint removal, but not all contractors follow the rules.

"Quick return phone call, and prompt estimate. Scheduled convenient time to do the work, and gave us update when weather delayed completion. Very professional job, workers were friendly and polite"

"Rain delays were a challenge, but at every opportunity

were on the job. All the workmen performed with professionalism and were respectful of my property. Some minor damage was done, but it was promised to be repaired. I got a 10% rebate check for belonging to Angie's List. Mr.

runs a tight ship, and his on site supervisors were very experienced."

"Excellent; this company did such a great job on some interior painting for us in June 2008, that we contracted to do the exterior painting and other jobs listed above. They showed up on time and finished the work in a timely manner. These guys are extremely professional. I've never seen such clean painting! They also were very good about letting us know about issues that were discovered after beginning the work (rotten wood trim) and helping us to resolve those problems. They treated our house like they would treat their own house, and that is why we will use them for all of our painting and powerwashing needs, in the future. This is a family owned business that has been around for years and years and has an excellent reputation."

"We looked at three different painting contractors,
Norfolk Exterior Painters Provider Name Locked
won our bid because of how professional his presentation was even though his bid was the highest out of the three. The job took 6 days, he and his crew were very punctual each day and very "unintrusive" while working.
Norfolk Exterior Painters Provider Name Locked
was very helpful and thorough, explaining each step of the process and always pointing out problem areas and discussing all options before taking further action. He was very flexible with our schedules as well, working around movers and several household deliveries. The craftsmanship is amazing, all of the painters where very meticulous and it shows in the end product. All true professionals. You truly get what you pay for and I would definitely hire
Norfolk Exterior Painters Provider Name Locked
and his crew again.

"They did a very nice job. It took them forever to finish but I think it was because they were not staying full days. It took months to complete which I was not thrilled about. The job looks very nice. We do have an older house so it was difficult for them to do. I just think they could have been more efficient. They quality of their work is fine and it is finished now so I am happy."

"When
Norfolk Exterior Painters Provider Name Locked
arrived on the 2nd day of painting it was a
Norfolk Exterior Painters Provider Name Locked
and wet day. He looked at what he had done and was ready to finish applying top coat. We fired him. Original estimate was $2900 to pressure wash, scrape, sand, caulk seams, spot prime as needed, apply 1 top coat to body of house, prime & top coat all windows and doors. Because of the horrible work he did on 1st day we were afraid to let him proceed. Paid him for materials & time for crew ($800). You just can't prep & paint a 67 year old house in 1 1/2 days."
A
"Crew showed up on schedule. Performed all work in a timely fashion. Cleaned up and left no debris. I would not hesitate to hire them again."
A
"They did an excellent job. I was very pleased with the work that he did for me. You have to get on a list to use him because his schedule is normally full. He is a perfectionist and he makes sure that you are satisfied with the job that he did. He does hire some contractors however he always looks over their work to be sure it is done right. I am not sure of the cost as my husband took care of the bill."
