Drywall Repair And Installation reviews in Norfolk

I found Castle on the site and called because they had great ratings. They told me
Norfolk Drywall Contractors Provider Name Locked
could stop by that afternoon to take a look at the job. He called when he was a short distance away and arrived when within the window promised.
Norfolk Drywall Contractors Provider Name Locked
was a very nice, professional man and he told me he liked to email quotes which suited me just fine. I had given my email address to the office when I called earlier that day. We asked him for a ball park figure and his quote was on the money from that figure, it was actually much less than we thought it was going to be. He came on a Friday and he told me he would email me the quote on Saturday. I did not receive it until I called on Tuesday. I then received it quickly (that is the reason I gave a B for responsiveness). The price was very reasonable, and we scheduled for the following week. The workers arrived as expected and got right to work. They were very friendly, polite, professional and knowledgeable. They completed the work faster than I thought and got everything cleaned up. They had to allow the patches time to dry before the painting was to be completed. Everything looked great, even being able to match the ceiling pattern perfectly. They told us they would return the next day at the same time to sand, caulk and paint. They arrived right on time and completed the work. It turned out terrific, we are very pleased. We will certainly use them again for any

work in our house. I highly recommend them. I was a little disappointed they did not except credit cards, as I would have liked to get the air miles, not a big deal at all.

I called and rec'd an estimate at end of May, he scheduled a time for the estimate but then called 1 hour before to make an excuse as to why he could not be there at the time he had proposed. He assumed that I could accommodate his schedule. I could NOT as I had a plane to catch. He showed up close to the time he had suggested and did NOT measure as the other contractors had done. This should have been a red flag.
He gave me a quote, it was the lowest of the three. I told him I wanted the work to start promptly on 30JUN.
That gave him one month to obtain all necessary permits and schedule effectively.
I emailed again mid June to make sure he would get the
Norfolk Drywall Contractors Provider Name Locked
permits, he assured me that there was no structural change so permits were not needed. This was in direct contrast to what I had read on the city of
Norfolk Drywall Contractors Provider Name Locked
Still I was anxious to get work done so I stupidly ignored my instincts.
He showed up on the designated day with no crew, no trash container for all the demo, but a tape measure and plans to go to the city that morning. I was livid!
He finally gets back to me with some contact at the city making excuses that this can't be done, he will loose his license etc etc etc…….
so then I was desperate, he offered to at least do the demo, because I had an electrician scheduled in 2 days. He offered to demo for $750, but again he failed to show up.
So my husband and I started the demo and got fairly far along before nightfall.
The next day
Norfolk Drywall Contractors Provider Name Locked
sent a email quote for the demo, but I told him we had already started and he agreed to finish it for $450, because my husband and I both had to go back to work.
He showed up about noon with one young man and some trash bags, no tools, he borrowed my hammer and did some demo, not much. He and the boy left after an hour because it was too hot. He said he would be back between 7 and 730 pm.
I rushed back from some errands to make sure I was home at 7 pm. I waited and waited and waited.
He NEVER returned. I called and emailed and texted him and he finally called back after 830 pm and made excuses that he had forgotten that he was supposed to give an estimate and so he could not do the job of demo work he had promised me.
Clearly he has time management issues, additionally I prompted him several times to get a permit, I also told him that I wanted the work completed with a FULL month lead time. He is a complete unprofessional failure.
I encourage all reading this review to NOT use
Norfolk Drywall Contractors Provider Name Locked
for any reason.

The experience overall went very well.
Norfolk Drywall Contractors Provider Name Locked

work done!

I am writing this review several months late - so the details have faded. We were pleased with the work, obviously because we hired him for additional work. Responsiveness could be improved, we communicated through text message and they were not always answered in the same day.

Our home is very old (98 years) and a leak in the roof caused the plaster ceiling in the foyer to crack. That, combined with gravity pulling on large areas of cracked plaster, allowed us to see inside the ceiling -- for sure, the plaster was on its way to falling on our heads.
Norfolk Drywall Contractors Provider Name Locked
was one of three estimates we received - he was the least expensive by 50%.
The price was almost too good to be true; but we went ahead and hired
Norfolk Drywall Contractors Provider Name Locked
for the work.
On our scheduled work day, a crew of 2 showed up 15 minutes early, worked quickly and efficiently, and were done by the afternoon. Excellent work - the knockdown effect on the plaster blended perfectly with the other walls. It's been two weeks since the work was completed, and I'm still very happy with it.
There was a little plaster dust on the porch and in the home, but that's barely anything to complain about -- they cleaned up everything, and it was almsot like they were never there!
BONUS: He was the only contractor that adivsed us to pull down the larger pieces of plaster while we were waiting for work so these 60 lb-plus pieces didn't
Norfolk Drywall Contractors Provider Name Locked
us if they fell. Obviously, this contractor was concerned for our safety, whether we hired him or not.
Would definitely hire him again, and recommend him to friends/family.

First project went well. Shed is now falling apart. Daughter quoted price for cutting yard and then almost doubled price after a couple of times. My B I G E S T complaint is that
Norfolk Drywall Contractors Provider Name Locked
couldn't wait for me to get off of work in order to get paid. I had to leave work and loose pay in order to meet him an d pay him. He couldn't wait 2 hours for his payment. He sounded desperate for the money.

Completed the job in two trips (to allow some deep patches to dry and shrink, then reapplication. Am told he was both pleasant and timely

I had some furniture delivered and one of the delivery men accidentally knocked a hole in my wall. I called
Norfolk Drywall Contractors Provider Name Locked
and they were professional, as usual. The next morning,
Norfolk Drywall Contractors Provider Name Locked
came by to give an estimate and began work 4 days later. The hole was repaired and painted that same day. The finished product is flawless and you'd never know there was a gaping hole in my wall.
Norfolk Drywall Contractors Provider Name Locked
was very neat and cleaned up behind themselves.

I bought the big deal for 3 hours of plastering repair. ($99 for 3 hours, regularly $300). He did a beautiful job. Very courteous and nice as well! He said he's also a handyman. I plan on calling him for more work!

I started mudding the new greenboard drywall in the hall bathroom I was remodelling, but do to time and health reasons I could not finish. I consulted a couple of contractors and settled on
Norfolk Drywall Contractors Provider Name Locked
because of the price and the level of experience;
Norfolk Drywall Contractors Provider Name Locked
said he'd been in the business for over 30 years. He gave me a bid for finishing the drywall to ready for painting and installing tile in the bathroom shower/tub area and floor. The next afternoon the drywall guys arrived. I was surprised at how quick they worked! They were only at my house for a little over an hour and mudded and finished MOST of the drywall. They went so fast that they completely overlooked an area on the otherside of the shower valve wall where my hamper sits and several other areas that were not smooth to a paintable finish. I use to work in home remodeling and that was not acceptable. I called
Norfolk Drywall Contractors Provider Name Locked
and asked that the drywall guys come back to finish the job, he assured me that would happen, to this day they still haven't shown up.
The next day the tile guy came, she was really good, she was able to figure out a way to work around trouble areas that were caused by the original construction of the house, for example, some of the studs were not truly 16" on center, the walls and floors were not plumb, and so on; the house was built in 1955. Still, she was able to complete the tile installation in a timely manner; she arrived when she said and worked through the weekend; and the installation came out beautifully. She earned an "A" rating for her workmanship and professionalism. She is the reason I didn't give the company a lower rating and she was the subcontractor!
During all of this we tried to get
Norfolk Drywall Contractors Provider Name Locked
to come out and look at the job and so far he has been a no show. He did not follow up on the job. I did not have the luxury of waiting for the drywall guys or
Norfolk Drywall Contractors Provider Name Locked
to show up. I have very little experience with drywall so it took me hours of mudding and sanding to smooth out ridges, hills, and other discrepencies they left so I could paint the walls and my family could use the shower again after 2 months of construction. The only contact I have gotten from this company so far is a bill for the job completion.
