Shoe Repair Reviews in New York

The initial visit was excellent. The technician was
was on time, professional and quick with an answer. Unfortunately, the rest of my experience was AWFUL!!! Terrible, terrible follow-up. Never heard back on the process for ordering parts. Multiple calls on my part. Every time that I called, a different person would answer my call. Return calls were always from cell phones, so I doubt this company has a real operation. It's now March 8th and I still have no idea when the replacement parts for my washer will arrive. Last follow-up was yesterday, still no response. Moving on to a different shop.

Remarkably well...he was courteous, obviously knowledgeable, explained everything very clearly and did the job quickly. Impressively he asked for no payment on the first visit, wanting to make sure the job was complete.

Shoe Repair reviews in New York

2 guys showed up late. They were supposed to be here between 10 and 1 pm but showed at 2 pm. I could live with that, given
NYC. The guys came, ultimately removed the unit that I had since 1995. The guy told me as long as I ordered a new unit he could come back again on his own off the company's hours. Agreed to a subsequent Friday afternoon after 5 pm Had a friend come over at 3 pm and told the guy he could come any time after 3 pm. I got home around 6 pm when he called to say he was running late and would not be there till 8 pm. Late but I said fine.

Make a long story short, called him at 8 pm and he said he would be here in 15 minutes. That's when I felt something was not right. I was leaving the city for the weekend anyway so tried to call and cancel but he would not pick up. So I left around 8:30, left some money with the doorman to give the guys (after all, they were trying). On Sunday night as ingot back, the doorman told me they did not show till 9:30 pm. And yes, they took the money.

While they did a decent job removing the broken unit, I just did not feel terribly confident about them. And after their first visit, read their less than stellar review on Angie's List and felt my instincts were confirmed. In a way, I am glad it did not work out as I do not trust their abilities and did not like feeling slightly creeped out by the whole experience especially the deceptive "I will be there in 15 minutes" tactic.

I really trust Angie's List, and as such, would not recommend this company.

I brought my parents' old

vacuum cleaner in for repair and cleaning. This is a real old fashioned fix-it shop, from the days before rampant planned obsolescence. They did a fine job and called promptly w/estimate and when repair was (quickly) completed. They also talked to me knowledgeably about vacuum cleaner bags. I will definitely come back w/lamps, sewing machines, etc.

There were 2 vacuum cleaners and one of them was a collector's item because it was 40 years old. Neither was working. They cleaned them and I don't know precisely what it was they did, but they did an excellent job. They were first rate. Then I found out that they do a lot of other things besides, so I had them restore an old floor lamp again about 40 years old and a table lamp that was probably more than 50 years old. They got my Cuisinart which I bought in the 80s going and working perfectly. They are excellent and they really know what they are doing. Not only did they do a good job but they are lovely people to deal with. I don't know about their price because I have no way of comparing prices. The quality of work was the best because the appliances are working beautifully and as I said they are old. I have used them again and I am about to have them check out my air conditioners.

2 Gentleman spent about 30 minutes fixing it and didn't charge me a thing. In general, they are a little high on price, but you get what you pay for. For someone needing reliable and reputable help, this is where I go.

Very well.

and his crew did a good job with all aspects of the project. I was happy with the process and the outcome. He threw in some minor things for free, such as cutting some tiles, plastering part of the closet, etc. He is responsive, responsible, and friendly. It was a good experience overall. It took slightly longer than I expected, but I never felt that he was ignoring the project. I would definitely hire

has a very innovative operation. They offer to repair anything, large or small, when I pay them a fee. It's almost like having insurance. The response time is very fast. Now I don't have to worry about calling people to fix things because they will take care of it. I pay them quarterly.

They charged me $919 for a new pump and I had to pay check or cash and was told to wait 72 hours for the gasket glue to dry before using. Well, of course it still didn't work and by that time my check had cleared. I was told by Mr.

that a new pump was on order and they would come and replace it. They have failed to answer numerous calls I have made. When I searched on line, I discovered that in 1999 he had 23 consumer complaints against him. I should have done that
