" did a fantastic job renovating a one bedroom apartment that hadn't been renovated since it was built in the early 1980's.
Installed wood floors, installed bathroom and kitchen floors, painted and spackeled the entire apartment, really worked on the kitchen cabinets nicely without the need to replace them. Did a fantastic job in the bathroom adding a new vanity, making the tub look new and cleaning all the overhead light fixtures which are big component of the ceiling.Unit is for sale, and it's very tricky understanding what should and shouldn't be renovated to maximize the value. Evertyime I wanted to move in a direction that wouldn't add value to the sale price, consulted with me and gave his honest opinon, which was invaluable. 's pricing is right where it should be, he's not cheap (you get what you pay for in contracting) and he's not expensive. 's work is certainly worth the value and price he charges and you couldn't meet a more affable and honest contractor."

"I have been using ., for about a year now (April 14th, 2011) and I have been very pleased with the service. , the owner, is what I would expect from a good contractor: He is punctual, true to his word, knowledgeable in wide technical areas, and take great pride in his work. His prices are very reasonable. Our next-door neighbor who has moved in the last year recommended to us. Our neighbor also owns a large brownstone, and has used ’s services for extensive repairs and re-modeling of his back and front gardens, and his house. My wife and I own a large old brownstone, built in 1885, in Manhattan, and we have used ’s services for maintaining our house."

New York Plastering Contractors Reviews

"My husband and I highly recommend Paintworks to anyone who is looking for honest, dependable and detail-oriented painting. When we decided to put our condo on the , we dreaded the fact that such decision would necessarily require us to hire a contractor to paint our apartment. Our dread was based on the fact that all our previous interactions with NYC contractors (including a major renovation when we first purchased our apartment) had resulted in shoddy work, an enormous time commitment on our part in overseeing their work and finally litigation. In fact, we signed up for Angie's List in order to properly vet and hopefully avoid our previous troubles. After reading the positive reviews about and Paintworks, we decided to contact them to repaint our apartment. From our first interaction with , his care and professionalism impressed us . Let’s take it piece by piece. promptly returned my call for an estimate and when I told him what I was looking for (a repaint of our apartment as quickly as possible so we could list it), he accommodated me by coming in for an estimate within a few days of my call and was forthright about telling me that they could begin work within 5 days of our accepting their proposal. showed up on time for the estimates (he actually performed two estimates to work with our budget and timing) and spent considerable time examining the areas that needed to be painted. Paintworks gave us a fair estimate and started work exactly when they said they would. They treated our possessions with care, and nothing was damaged / incorrectly painted. The painting they did was high quality. The workers were quite courteous, and put all of our things back exactly where they were when they completed the job (even rehooking all of the electronics properly). They said the job would take 3 days and they completed it in 3 days. As people with busy work schedules and little time to dedicate to worrying about supervising a contractor's work or being around to make sure someone was doing what they promised, we can tell you that Paintworks was hassle free and exceeded our expectations. (In fact, they were at least 10 minutes early every day.) We couldn’t ask for more in all honesty. From start to finish they were honest, skilled and courteous. We’ve never seen it anywhere else in NYC to be honest. Our only regret is that we didn't know about Paintworks when we were originally renovating our apartment. It could have saved us a lot of time, energy and heartache."

"Bill was referred to us by a friend who was extremely pleased with the work he did on their bathroom renovation. We originally consulted with him about our bathrooms but decided painting and lighting our main floor was more of a priority. I liked Bill right away. He really cared about our project and gave us thoughtful advice at every juncture. He was quick to respond to my phone calls and emails and always kept a good sense of humor (especially since all our meetings were attended by my curious toddler). He went out of his way to accommodate the window of time we needed to start the project (a house-sitting opportunity that would keep us out of the way) and when the time came he hired quality professionals who, without exception, did excellent work. The few inevitable hiccups were always quickly addressed. When it came to billing he was more than fair - and we were always happy to sign the checks because we were so thrilled with the results. Our home looks transformed! We are already planning to use him again when we renovate our bathrooms this summer."

" is a top-notch professional. After initially hiring a someone else to remove wallpapering from my kitchen walls and paint it, the person almost destroyed my kitchen walls by not taking off all of the adhesive left from the installation of wallpapering AND then this person painted over the residue leaving my kitchen walls lumpy and unsightly. I hired to come in to repair the damage and he did an excellent job. skimmed coated my kitchen walls, primed and painted my kitchen with semi gloss latex."

"Overall, the job was of a very high quality and reflects the toil and taxation (pun intended) of the contractor and owner. Much thought and care was poured into each and every detail of this renovation, from sconce to shutter screw. Project began with a consultation and estimate and took roughly four months to complete, sensible for the scale of work. One early regret was not having ironed out each and every minute detail (fixtures, products, etc.) at the very beginning of the project. This delayed some things and occasionally caused between owner and contractor.
Perhaps the contractor's biggest asset besides his experience is that he works on one job at a time; he focused completely on my project, unlike most contractors of today. The job progressed relatively smoothly with the few usual snags of such a large scale (of an ironically small space) renovation. All issues were resolved in the end and the result is truly magnificent. A few things that said contractor could have improved upon were flexibility on design/product selection (which in the end, he was, but sometimes discussions prolonged the project) and a better scheduled/stricter payment plan as part of the contract. As previously mentioned, a full agreement on product/design selection from the beginning would have benefited both parties as resolving these issues during the process extended the completion date and often added unforeseen costs.
In sum, I would reiterate the words "truly magnificent," though even this phrase cannot begin to describe the of the completed space. The contractor's ideas and experience with old brownstones coupled with the owner's creativity created a singular place in Manhattan that is beyond simply a living space...it is an organic environment that resurrects the age upon which its design is based and, right down to each and every carefully chosen doorknob, showcases the owner and contractor's hard work, dedication, inspiration, and most of all: vision."

"I've done 3 renovations and found that any renovation, large or small, is stressful. There is no getting around it. What sets and his team apart from others is that they know it can be stressful, that the client will be stressed out that things go wrong that are not the fault of the contractor, and they work with you to alleviate the stress. They suggested work-arounds, alternatives, schedule changes, a lot of things--whenever problems arose, and on those rare occasions when they made a mistake, quickly took responsibility and made it right at no cost.
and his team of workmen are excellent. He provided an initial bid in a timely fashion, and worked with me to come up with a price that was within my budget but still accomplished the task. He began when he said he would, and proceeded according to schedule. When he found unexpected problems, we worked them out agreeably. He was very agreeable to revisions as we went along, and charged reasonably for the changes I wanted. He was always available when necessary, by email, phone, or if necessary in person. He regularly appeared on the job to supervise the work, although his team was so good that little supervision was necessary.
His team was very professional, having had a lot of experience doing work of this type. The work took place right underneath the unit I live in, so I know it was not overly noisy. On the rare occasions that I wasn't satisfied with some of the work, he quickly redid it to my liking and did not charge me for this additional work. He involved me in decision making as much as I wanted to be involved. Some things I left to him and his judgment; others I accompanied HIM to Home Depot or other vendors to select cabinets, etc.
I am extremely satisfied with the work that his company did. If I have another project of any kind, would be the only person I would contact and be assured that he would give me a fair price. I wouldn't even have others bid a future job because with I would know that his price was a good price, and he would do the work very well and on schedule."

"He appeared on time for the estimate and gave it promptly. We made the appointment for the work. He was on time and did an exceptional job. He cleaned up properly. He was pleasant and civil. He did not talk down to us in any way. I can't praise him enough. And his English is very good."

"My experience with the estimator was very good. He was a good guy. He was actually busy and so he wasn?t able to do it in the time frame that I needed it done. He wasn?t available till almost December or late November. My job was going to take about two weeks. He wasn?t pushy. He was terrific. He was excellent overall. He was very concise, nice and he seemed like a decent person. Everything about him was great. If I could use him, then I would definitely use his services in the future. "

" answered my email inquiry promptly and set up a time to visit the site so he could see the work I wished to have done. He is busy (and worth waiting for), so he scheduled my work about two to three weeks out from our initial meeting. Once started, he methodically did the work and also called me with good questions or to explain issues as they arose during the work so that I was fully informed and so that I got exactly what I wanted. I agree with the many others on this list (which is how I found ) who have said that is pleasant, professional and does high quality work."
