I spent about $4000 for the move and it was fine. They were good for the most part. At the end, they had one of my expensive chairs just kind of thrown in. I watched them put blankets around everything and everything was in boxes. It was all perfect. Then when I went outside to check the truck there ...more was one chair that they had just thrown in there. About 99% of it was great and I am not sure why that happened. I would highly recommend them except for one problem, which was an unusual circumstance. Apparently, they mostly go to certain cities for long distance moves. So what they do is they will put your stuff on the truck with other people’s stuff and you will get this time window within which they will deliver it to you. It can be a one-week window or a two-week window. However, I was looking for someone to just move my stuff directly from New

to North and being able to get it right away. So, Flat Rate Movers were able to do that for me, which was great. It cost more to do that, but it was worth it. That was all fine and the only problem was that there was a mix up with the contract. What they did was that they used a local team and a local truck rather than their normal long distance team. So, they gave me the local contract. Ultimately, I wasn’t able to move on time and there was just a mix up. I ’t know if there was anyway to foresee that. However, they went out of their way to provide the service that I was requesting and so, I can’t say anything negative about them. The price was as good as you can expect. I think it was a fair price, but not a great price. It wasn’t overpriced either. They arrived late, but they called to let me know. It was totally understandable since there was traffic and it was a long distance move as well. I would definitely use their services in the future too.

's Moving guy had whipped out a box cutter and a roll of packing tape, took two regular boxes and fabricated a custom shipping case and carried the thing down the stairs. I had a couch with a fold-out bed, heaviest thing you ever saw, and three flights of stairs-- these guys ran down the stairs with it like it was made of styrofoam. My move took maybe three hours total (I expected it to take all day), nothing missing, nothing broken, and when they were done-- I swear this is true-- the foreman of the job looked at the price they had quoted me based on my estimate of how much stuff I had ($1000), concluded that I had overestimated, and made a note to refund me $200; I got the check in the mail two days later. If you're looking for a mover, look no further; these are the guys."

They were fine about waiting until I was ready (some months), and them they picked up furniture and boxes at my apartment, then at my storeroom, and then took some of the furniture to DC.
