"Overall, the job was of a very high quality and reflects the toil and taxation (pun intended) of the contractor and owner. Much thought and care was poured into each and every detail of this renovation, from sconce to shutter screw. Project began with a consultation and estimate and took roughly four months to complete, sensible for the scale of work. One early regret was not having ironed out each and every minute detail (fixtures, products, etc.) at the very beginning of the project. This delayed some things and occasionally caused

between owner and contractor. Perhaps the contractor's biggest asset besides his experience is that he works on one job at a time; he focused completely on my project, unlike most contractors of today. The job progressed relatively smoothly with the few usual snags of such a large scale (of an ironically small space) renovation. All issues were resolved in the end and the result is truly magnificent. A few things that said contractor could have improved upon were flexibility on design/product selection (which in the end, he was, but sometimes discussions prolonged the project) and a better scheduled/stricter payment plan as part of the contract. As previously mentioned, a full agreement on product/design selection from the beginning would have benefited both parties as resolving these issues during the process extended the completion date and often added unforeseen costs. In sum, I would reiterate the words "truly magnificent," though even this phrase cannot begin to describe the

of the completed space. The contractor's ideas and experience with old brownstones coupled with the owner's creativity created a singular place in Manhattan that is beyond simply a living space...it is an organic environment that resurrects the age upon which its design is based and, right down to each and every carefully chosen doorknob, showcases the owner and contractor's hard work, dedication, inspiration, and most of all: vision.

"We have a beautiful home. It feels like it has always been a unified space rather than three combined apartments. The process was not always easy, but working with

of Convivium Design made it go smoothly. They were always there when we needed them and took as much pride in the project as we did. We will definitely call them again for our next project."

"Complete waste of time and money. Bad ideas, furniture fit poorly, horrible ideas on color and layout. Would have fired her immediately but was waiting on things I had ordered from her---and they turned out to be of poor quality. Her plan of our space made the already small room cramped. The vitriol out of her mouth when we had a disagreement was astounding. She writes her own reviews on citysearch I am convinced!!!"

"The overall design was fine. The quality of the work done by the people he used for the upholstery of the sofa and chair and the sewing of the drapes, curtains, and dust ruffles was terrible and very amateurish. When we complained about the quality of the work he insisted the same people would correct it. Well after 3-4 times of patiently waiting for a better outcome we gave up! Since they were unable to do fine work to begin with

should have known they would not be able to correct the problems.
New York Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
was not professional in dealing with the problem. He took offense and could not deliver what he promised-Which was work done of the highest quality! He tried to appease us by not charging for small items-something we didn't care about-instead of delivering the quality we expected and he promised.

"After the initial visit to view the project,
New York Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
returned in good time with a guesstimated budget and some sample pictures of furniture, cloth samples and paint color samples. All were accepted. We then went shopping for the crown molding and some furniture at various stores and on various days at mutual convenience. She also gave me a number of online stores and furniture samples from which to buy which was done satisfactorily including a number of furniture pieces and light fixtures. She referred a painter and crown molding installer whose work was satisfactory but not done in a coordinated and smooth-running manner.

also referred a furniture assembler and a carpet installer whose work was satisfactory, but somewhat expensive. Although basically the job is finished, she is still attending to little things that need attention.

"It was a wonderful experience. I couldn't have been happier with the whole process. We went through multiple iterations on architectural plans, then started the process of interviewing contractors which included my making site visits to see their work. We hired a wonderful contractor with whom the architects were in regular contact to monitor site situations and manage the process. The job was finished on budget and just about on time. The outcome was spectacular. I have a gorgeous kitchen, a den with wonderful built-in cabinetry, a new closet, completely refinished floors, fully painted apartment, new cabinetry in the bathroom, new circuit breakers, loads of new light fixtures and door knobs and artwork professionally hung."

"Exceptional, fine craftsman and he has such wonderful solution to problems. He has also built the most wonderful cabinets, where the artwork is on the outside and the books are in the inside and has additional room for storage. Beautiful colors and finishes when he does the painting."

"They were fantastic! They actually went out and bought things for us (embellishments like table cloths and pillows) when we were unable to. Very creative and very delightful to work with."
