" arrived on time and clearly explained what he saw in my heating unit. It was evident from his investigation that there were a few parts that needed replacement - this increased the cost from the $250 quoted to the $521 paid. spent over an hour and a half in my condo doing the necessary work, and mentioned that I had been quoted the incorrect price of $80 for the check-up since I had 2 sets of stairs that he needed to climb to get to the heating unit. He did however only charge me the $80 after confirming it with his office manager. I did not compare the cost of the replacement parts elsewhere so I don't know if they were priced appropriately, although I did see the same thermostat in Home Depot for about $60 later that weekend. Since it only took about 15 minutes to install, that was a quite expensive installation cost. Having seen him do it, it was something I could have done myself, and saved the expense. Overall, I was happy to have someone with ' experience perform the maintenance on my HV, and will use to look at my AC in the spring."

"They are very good. It cost $350 to hire them. The other price I got on it was $3200. They did it for almost 10% of the price because they didn’t have to do any amount of work that the other individual indicated would have to be done. I liked their honesty. It took them a little longer to come than I would have liked. I would definitely use their services in the future too."

"I have stopped using them now since I was not satisfied with them this time. I ?t think that their customer service was great. The last time they came by I was not in the apartment but somebody else who was at home witnessed their work and thought that the person who came to do the work was not confident. I have been having continuous problems with the AC system in spite of their servicing, and the unit has problems every few months. So I have decided to stop using the. "

" came out to my place to assess it. It has now been more than a month, and I have not received an estimate. I have called four times and nobody has returned my call."

"we've used twice in the recent past. The heat here in NYC can be extreme, and about a month ago, when our old A/C unit finally died, Arik was able to replace it the next day. They had a unit in stock and were able to come the next morning, even though we just contacted them late the previous day. The people at the office were also very friendly and helpful, and were able to expedite the order.
More recently during the last heat wave, because ConEd decreased the voltage to its customers, this kept causing our fuse box to trip. I contacted , and once again, Arik came the SAME day to install a part that allowed the A/C unit to keep functioning seamlessly.
Arik and his team are very easy to work with, and I highly recommend them!"

"They reported that only one of our units was without a fan belt problem, and fan belts can't be or aren't worth being replaced. The units cool, but make a lot of noise; they said they'd last as long as we could stand the noise, which would get worse with time. One unit is particularly loud, and it's hard to believe that there isn't a minor adjustment that they could have made that would have reduced the noise level. They suggested that removal by the building in winter was the reason for the fan belt's poor function. They recommended replacing four units, particularly the loud one, which they didn't clean (or charge for) because they assumed we wanted to buy a replacement on the spot, which we didn't. So in the end, 4 out of 5 of our units were cleaned, except the largest one, which is what we paid for. We did not, however, get the noise problem fixed, since the technician said it couldn't be done. I may call another provider to see if that problem can be addressed in an efficient way, which means that I might call this company again, or I may establish a relationship with another company instead."

"Overall, the service end, that is what Am Tech provides, is excellent.
However, for the consumer you purchase a replacement unit in a blind way, since you cannot "shop" the actual unit. It is of course your expectation that a new unit will be an improved version of the ten year old unit. With this replacement that has not been the case. In this episode, you learn that the AC repair company is truly in the middle. "

"I measured window top to bottom opening incorrectly! (don't assume the size of the glass is equal to the minimum opening dimensions). He made the window larger.
I couldn't figure out which window AC support to purchase, he purchased the right one himself and installed it at no extra charge.
My old one was removed and carted. No mess. No hassels. Always there for me, even days before via phone and emails to answer Qs.
My place is tiny and cramped, there wasn't even room to open the box the unit came in so he had to use exterior hallway just to get it out of its box.
Even less space is in front of my window. He and assistant fit themselves into 2ft space to work side by side to complete all the screwing and window modification tasks, quietly and without even sweating!
and helper are neat clean punctual, knowledgeable and OUTSTANDING in every way.
I even have him coming back for the dangest reason ever.
If you live in an apt bldg, units above your AC will drip water in TORRENTS down on your unit. Well my old AC was plastic and that sound was no bother. The new unit is all metal and the sound of water pouring onto it, is no romantic pitter on a tin roof . It is instead a keep you awake all night long Calypso drum banging that's horrible!
They are going to try to apply solid foam (or something) above the AC so that water hits a non noise making surface instead of CLANGING on and down into my air conditioner.
One more hassle of high rise living you may or may not know of to keep in mind if you are considering moving from a private home to a multi unit dwelling. (running AC when it isn't even hot is the main cause of this).
In any case I told Eleazar and he offered to rush to help me.
Didn't say how stupid or weird a thing this is, nope not at all, without even concern for payment he offered to come right away and figure out a way for me to get some sleep (and that incl moving furniture for me this time).
I hope to leave NYC in months but I'd actually rather not all because of this firm!
He didn't ask but 20-30% tip is easily deserved by this team."

"The person who answered the phone was exceedingly rude and dismissive. He said they do not do on-site visits (although a website had stated that they did) and that it would cost $240 to bring *one* in-wall air conditioner in for a spring cleaning! At that price, I could practically buy a new unit every other year. Clearly, did not want the business. When I asked him who did do on-site visits (as I had such a service provider in my home several years ago, but have since moved), he plainly lied and said, "No one." He must know his competitors. I found him to be extremely disrespectful."

"I didn't use them. It was a complicated job and they had to figure out where to bring the pipes in and do the work. The person that came was very nice and he did exactly what he said he would. He gave me a price that was reasonable. However I didn't really like the way he was going to do the job. He told me the way it could be done, but it left pipes exposed. I really needed a contractor because after he had put holes in everything, somebody else would have to come and fix it. It didn't make sense. He was very nice and very prompt. He was totally fine. "
