Hauling Reviews in New York

A very beefy and polite young man showed up at my door and he carried an heavy old metal file cabinet out by himself. Then he carried a very large armoire out the door and carried them down two flights of steps -- okay, I do think he had some help from a partner on that one but I was quite impressed at his strength. I paid by credit card on the spot and that was it. No
, no fuss. The only thing that I didn't like, although I knew about it ahead of time, was that because I was on the 2nd floor of a brownstone, the cost was an extra $100. However, I would still use them again. Sometimes you just need to get stuff out of your apartment or house and it's worth paying someone to do it.

The guys were pretty nice and moved everything I asked. However I didn't feel they were as good as professional movers when it comes to dealing the the elevator or having tools to move stuff out. Its not a big deal but they didn't have garbage bags and had to use the buildings hand truck and my bags. Also the boss didn't want to accept cash..

Hauling reviews in New York

They arrived exactly on time and called me from downstairs. The main person introduced himself and went over what I wanted removed and how much it would cost. It depends on how much space your "junk" takes up on the truck. He discussed getting the elevator padded. My sofa and love seat did not fit easily through the door but they managed it without damaging anything and remained very pleasant throughout. They were professional, efficient and very pleasant. It was not an easy job getting that sofa and love seat out.

This experience was so bad - I've decided to sign up for Angie's list to repost my review from Yelp.
We received a recommendation for A&T from a friend. She said they were "efficient, brought alot of people and were really nice". She also said they were affordable.
We got a quote from them for $800 to move 2 rooms of our stuff from Flatiron to Midtown. Not bad, right? When they arrived everything our friend said was correct. They were nice, brought alot of people and loaded our stuff into their truck within 2 hours. At that point, I was already getting ready to recommend them to 2 other friends whom I knew were moving in the next few months... BUT that is the point where the good times end.
We met them at our new apartment and watched as they efficiently started bringing in our stuff into the apartment. Unfortunately I noticed our desk was missing pieces and was leaning at a 45 degree angle. One of the support beams had cracked off. While I was seeing if there was any way to salvage the table my wife then noticed that the top of our coffee table had cracked off as well. Not good, but they were soo nice, My initial thought was that we could come up with a decent compromise - even if it meant some red tape going through their insurance...
Art (I believe the A in the name) was overseeing the move so we immediately spoke to him about it. I can't tell you how quickly his warm smile morphed into...well... something else... His reaction was that our furniture was poorly made and that the wood was of a bad quality. Thus, he claimed it was not his fault. Despite our questions on how these damages could occur without any fault of his company, he kept pointing back (over and over and over) to the fact that our furniture was made of a poor quality. We then asked him about his insurance policy. He responded that he would submit it, IF we had the receipts - But even then, it probably wouldn't be accepted because... Wait for it... Our furniture was made of a poor quality.
That might be true, but we thought it was of at least decent quality. The desk cost us $300 and was from Crate and Barrel. Unfortunately, it has been discontinued so i can't provide a link. The coffee table cost us $1,195 and was purchased at BoConcept. Here is the link:…
We told him we would eat the cost of the desk, because we "ONLY" paid $300 but we would like to submit our receipt for the coffee table.
This is what he just wrote us:

The certificate of insurance that was submitted to your building only covers liability for damage to the building,it does not cover property damage to your furniture.your furniture is very poorly made and we did not do any damage whatsoever to any of your furniture. We did the best we could covering and protecting your furniture.your coverage is 60 cents per pound for your cofee table which weighs about 20 lbs .so I can send you a check for $12.00 you singed the contract agreeing to that.
(forget about the fact that they mention "Furniture Protection" on the services page of their website...)
So there you have it. For the record, the movers were all nice guys and were efficient - but the lack of accountability at the mgmt level and furniture insurance is unacceptable. So in my opinion, use these guys at your own risk if you think you own furniture someone can simply

as being "poorly made".
I've also included a pic of the coffee table. I don't have one of the desk because we threw it away. To Art's credit he did offer to throw it away for us "free of charge."

These guys were great. It was a massive job and urgent since my gas range broke right before Thanksgiving. They came on Saturday gave an estimate (including labor cost for disassembly) and then came promptly on Monday morning and did the job efficiently. Though they went over their estimated labor time, they billed only what they initially estimated as their maximum charge. I would definitely use them again!

It went very well. The moving team was hard-working, professional, efficient, and friendly. Everything arrived in one piece. Nothing was lost. A great experience overall.

I purchased the Angie's list special of $109 to haul 1/4 load. Actually I bought two but turns out I only needed one for the amount of junk I had (I will use the other later in our renovation process). The two young fellas who came were on time, efficient, and ...friendly! Junk Luggers were helpful on the phone before the appointment, confirmed with me and called again that morning to see if they could come early! Bravo to Junk Luggers for a well run business! I'll call them again soon to schedule my last pick up (now that I know how much junk fits in to a 1/4 truck!)

They are well known. I have been satisfied. They usually send the same person which is very nice. He is very nice. They are reliable and they come when they say they are going to. They are responsive and professional. They are on my list and I use them whenever I need them. They are a big company and they have offices all over. It's not just a local person you are hiring to do the job. You probably can find somebody cheaper to do it, but they are the ones I have dealt with so I can't compare the price.

Vinny was the only person who was willing to help during a snow storm; I probably called 15 different companies. His prices were reasonable, and he was punctual. I’m very grateful for his service. It’s important that I look good to the banks I deal with, and he made me look good, which really I appreciate.

The jobs, each and every time went fantastically. They were always on time, efficient and very cooperative. We could never have accomplished all that we needed to without their help. Removing and hauling is one of the biggest part of a job and one of the most problematic. We had no idea how we would have done it without

Cleanout. I would highly recommend them, removing and discarding waste is very expensive, so to have someone who does is, is one time and will go the distance to help as much as possible is wonderful. The cost is well worth it, we tipped the guys well and ordered in lunch, because they were not even going to stop to eat! The Best!
