New York Handyman Services Reviews
"He is someone I would list and give an A. I think I spent about $2000 with him so far. He is honest, does what he says he is going to do, and does excellent work. I would recommend him to others because he is dependable, his rates are reasonable and he does excellent quality work."
"I have been using are very reasonable. Our next-door neighbor who has moved in the last year recommended "
"Home remodeling and changes should be fun and hassle free. Working with Bill is exactly that - he has a can do attitude for everything. He really enjoys what he does, is a true professional, and is a full pleasure to work with. The entire job was 100% custom and made to order to specifications that I designed. He had previously done the custom closet work for me so this was my "phase 2" with him. The project took a couple of months from design to (offsite carpentry) build, to install. The actual install was a few weeks in December. Bill was very involved in the design process and very collaborative, was very honest and upfront about the costs and expense of what I wanted, and wasn't settling for "good enough" - really wanted things to come out exactly how I (and we) had imagined it. All-in-all Bill and his team at Oasis are just really good, honest, and hard working people. Totally responsive and A+ all the way...I'm kind of dissapointed that there aren't more large projects to work with him on...I don't think I'll ever call anyone else."
" slatwall in less than 2 hours. It is refreshing to work with someone so professional. I'd use "
"This work took almost nine hours and everything was done perfectly. he didn't seem to mind at all. He really knows how to fix things. I really got my money's worth. I plan to have him back again!"
"In March we asked him to come up with an estimate for the renovation work to be done. He visited the apartment and when no estimate was forth coming he asked again to visit and measure (which we'd assumed he'd already done the first time). We continually asked him for an estimate, providing him with a detailed list of what work needed to be done. None came -- the best we got was a general figure attached to a non-specific work item, i.e., replace flooring $7,000. We liked Mr. Muamba and wanted to continue with him, but his lack of responsiveness and inability to deliver a professional estimate after 5 months had gone by forced us to consider alternative contractors. (Incidentally, when other contractors came to do estimates, they delivered detailed lists within a matter of days.) Meanwhile, Mr. Muamba was going to have the architect he works with come by the apt to draw up the needed blueprints. I asked that he do it anytime except the 3 days i was in the hospital as I wanted to be there and hear the architect's ideas and impressions. Mr. Muamba scheduled the visit while I was in the hospital, despite my specific instruction not to. The lack of estimate, the unresponsiveness to emails and phone calls, the constant stream of email excuses (headaches, family, staff, "cash flow") forced us to tell him we could not hire him as the contractor on the job, and we were sorry but we'd need the balance of our $10,000 deposit returned. Mr. Muamba agreed that he indeed owed us this money but said he didn't have it -- "cash flow problems" he said. He told us told draw up any payment schedule and he'd adhere to it. This was in "
