"I was amazed by the results. He forewarned me that it wouldn't look 100% new but would be greatly improved. It looks great. Unless you look closely and know where to look you can't tell that it's been repaired. It was a lot cheaper than reupholstering or buying a new chair. My sister just hired him to fix her sofa! Also, he was a really nice, smart, honest guy who lives in my neighborhood. (He says he goes to most of his jobs on his bike. Go green!)

, who handled this job, couldn't have been better. He arrived when he said he would, repaired the chair and returned it on time. As a wooden component had actually split, the work was probably a bit more challenging than it seemed at first. Mr.
New York Furniture Repair Shops Provider Name Locked
was completely professional in every way. The price he charged, $125 including pickup and delivery, was totally fair. Over the phone, a competitor quoted a considerably higher price. I would recommend this service without hesitation. It's easy to see why its ratings are so high and I thank Angie's List for steering me to it.

"It went beautifully. Initially, the manager had me take a picture of the broken part and send it to him so that he could see what was wrong.
So sensible and clearly wanting the process to be practical and consumer friendly.

"They were very professional. First I sent my service request though Angie's List complete with photographs of the
pieces that needed work done. Then they called me to set up an appointment and gave me a ball park estimate, but
said that could change when the service men came if the job expanded. It seems many people order more repair work than originally contracted for after the men arrive, and then want the new repairs to fall under the original cost (for free) in my case the price stayed the same. He photographed what needed to be done, called his office to confirm the price, parked his car and returned with large bags of repair equipment and another service man. One worked on the chair, the other worked on the piano. When the job was done, they took photos of the repairs, I paid them by check, signed a receipt and they left.
I was very, very pleased. In fact I will, now that I know how able this place is, I will look around for other areas in our apartment that could use some sprucing up and repair.

"Mr
New York Furniture Repair Shops Provider Name Locked
was honest and professional. He declined work that he thought was not economical for us to have done. He visited the apartment to provide an estimate which was a fair price in view of the work involved, including collecting and delivering the furniture being restored. The work was done superbly well. He explained how to look after the furniture after it was restored. We were entirely satisfied and will certainly use

"This was a real mixed bag. Mr.
New York Furniture Repair Shops Provider Name Locked
showed up, took away a broken chair and knob. The chair had a broken wooden piece at the back and the knob was to be copied. 6 weeks later Mr.
New York Furniture Repair Shops Provider Name Locked
returned with the chair: it was impossible to detect where the repair had been made. I was really pleased with this part of the job. Mr.

also showed me the replacement knob. It was reasonably close in appearance to the other knobs but it stood out at least 1/4" more than the original knobs, and these knobs are less than 3/4" deep! It looked ridiculous. He said I wouldn't notice it. I told him I was unhappy with the knob and he said he could either refund my money or he'd take a second attempt to make a knob.
Over the next 3 months I called him to find out what was happening. More than once he told me it would be done in a couple weeks. Finally when I told him I just wanted my original knob back and get a refund of my $75 for the knob, he sent his wife over with the knob and a replacement knob, and no refund. As best I can tell it was the same knob he showed me back in February. I'm too annoyed to bother trying to deal with him for anything further.
If these were two separate transactions, I'd have given him an "A" for everything on the chair repair and an overall score of "D" or "F for the knob replacement job.

"The experience was strongly positive from start to finish. Because of the size of the table, it was not practical for

to bring it to his shop, so the work was performed in our apartment.

fastidiously sealed off the area in which which he worked in order to contain the dust and to allow us free use of the rest of the room. The work took a bit longer than I had anticipated because of the laboriousness of the project - after each sanding and varnishing the table had to dry. The table required more sanding and coats of varnish so it took an extra few days.

communicated with us clearly each step of the way. We are thrilled with the result.

came over to give an estimate on the work. We arranged for me to deliver and pick up, since it fits in my car. (Naturally he has people on call who can do this, too. I did it myself to keep the cost down.) On the appointed day I brought the table to his workshop in Brooklyn, between Williamsburg and Bushwick. On the following appointed day I picked up the table, and everything was perfect. He tossed in a can of something to keep the finish looking great, and advice on how to apply it.

is careful, thorough, and reasonable. And that's already something!
