After the first day of the two day project, I found the installer had left a damaged plank installed in the living room floor. I contacted Jakub to discuss. Instead of agreeing to replace the damaged plank, Jakub insisted that I sand the entire apartment floor to ...more remove the damage. After a heated debate, Jakub agreed to replace the damaged plank. 2. The installer left a 32" length, 1/4" (and gradually becomes smaller) width gap between the old flooring and the new flooring, and filled it with a wood sliver. I offered to pay for his help. Jakub refused to offer assistance. 3. The apartment has a steam radiator recessed into the wall. Jakub recommended that we install the wood to the back of the radiator cavity. However, because the "climate" inside the radiator cavity frequently changes to extremes, I have learned that the wood will not wear well over time. It is also vulnerable to moisture and water. 4. Jakub did not install the missing base boards. I am in the process of reviewing a proposal from a flooring expert to re-do Jakub's work."
