"Provided documentation and follow up. He was professional, very neat, meticulous, and honest. Pleasant to deal with and very talented. Made excellent recommendations" and provided constant feedback. He paid attention to details and followed through on every item discussed. We are very happy with his work and would highly recommend .

"The old shower doors closed but were falling off of their rollers. They were light doors and custom to the apt. We called and they sent" out a person to measure. As he measured, he discussed options, including the light weight doors and a heavier door. Within the day, we received a bid, with drawings and two bids. We went with the heavier door. As they were custom size, they had to be ordered. Once ordered, called and set up an appt to install. Two guys showed up, unloaded, set up doors and cleaned up in less than two hours. Had to wait for 24 hours for caulk to dry but we are very comfortable with new doors.

Angie's Answers

Hello - I hope my answer will help point you in the right direction.

The reason you're having a hard time getting clear information is because there are hundreds of companies saying their window is the best. There are probably millions of different features you can choose to have for your windows and in price ranges from $169-$1200 (per double-hung window).

I've been in the business for 15 years and have seen many different window products from many different dealers and manufacturers. This all comes down to: "what's important for you and your home?" If you want a strong warranty from a company who has a full-time service department to give you piece of mind and service your windows should needs be, or are you looking at only those companies who offer true wood interior windows that you can paint or stain to match the home decor? Whatever is your hot-button, then that's where you want to start.

I would recommend you first choose how you want your new windows to look. Wood-interior with vinyl clad is only offered by certain companies, while there is a vinyl woodgrain finish to give you similar results without the maintenance. If you're only looking for a white interior and don't want the maintenance, a fiberglass or vinyl window would be the best choice from what is offered in the market today (vinyl will be less expensive - not necessarily cheaper quality). If you are going to change out a window to a french door and a door to a window, then you WILL NEED to find a contractor with some carpentry experience. Some companies will tell you upfront that they do not handle those sorts of remodeling projects due to the complexity and time it would take to get it complete.

Unfortunately, we won't be able to personally help you with your project as we work in the New England Area. However, if you wish to talk further, please feel free to email me at: sven@ritewindow.com and I'll be happy to let you know our prices for what we offer so you can compare and hopefully find a similar company to do the work for you near the Austin area.

Get your roofer back out there.  Course of shingles above the window need to be pulled, self sealing flashing, drip caps, and counter and step flashing are going to be required here.

This is a flashing issue as the window connects to the mansard roof surface.

Condensation and a leak are two different and very noticeably different (i.e. volume) things.

Flashing and roofing on Mansards can be tricky but is sounds very much like a roofing issue.

For a broken window (or leaking seal in multi-pane unit), for a standard roughly 2x3 foot window, can run from low of about $75-125 for single pane to more like $200-300 range for triple pane, depending on construction and any special ultraviolet or heat reflective coatings. If a removeable window unit, of course cheaper to remove it and take to replacement glass place then have them come out, measure glass size, order glass unit, then come back to install.

If taking in yourself, commonly they can do single-pane in an hour or two, but count on a week or so typically for sealed double or triple pane unit to come in, so you will have to seal the opening in the interim. That is an advantage of having them come out - they measure and determine type of unit on first visit and can seal with tape and plastic sheeting (if you have not already done that), then come back with new unit and install a week or two down the road - but you are not stuck with an opening in the wall for a long time.

Much easier to scratch and typically not as good a finished quality as compared to glass.

Benefits are the resistance to breakage as mentioned by LCD.  Any glazing shop should be able to re-create that panel.

Door Installation reviews in New York

The gentleman installing the door really knew what he was doing and did an excellent job. My only issue with Universal was that they originally scheduled the job for 2/25 but rescheduled for 2/27 and arrived 3 hours earlier than I was told so I was lucky to be there, but worth the bother. Great job at a very reasonable price. I shopped around and ...More was surprised at how much the companies that don't manufacture and install were charging. These guys do both and only do doors. I would definitely recommend them.

Bill is the owner of the business, and he is assisted by his chief carpenter . I found Bill wonderful to work with, and he gave great advice regarding certain design issues that came up. Once we go the job started, things moved along steadily, though it did take longer than expected. I was completely ...More satisfied with the quality of the work that he and his crew performed. The sub-contractors that did the floor, stone sills, and that did a repair on the stone counter-top that was chipped by the previous owner were all excellent. The plumber did very good work, but he was really expensive, as was the electrician. I suppose that this is par for the course in NYC. Overall, I would definitely use Oasis again based on the work that was done. Bill and his crew were great, honest, up front with the pricing and always helpful. They worked alone in the condo, and I never had any issues with things missing.

He was fast and efficient. He is flexible and not pushy. He is nice. It took him about an hour to an hour and a half to complete the job.

This company's business tactics are shady. First off, they quoted us a price for several jobs that needed to be done in our home, and then tried to get $2000 more before they even started the work. That should have been a red flag right there. Second problem- one of the jobs we requested wasn't necessary (so they say), so we had to renegotiate ...More the price. They tried to give us back $500 for a job that costs anywhere from $1400-$2500 and refused to give us an itemized bill- red flag #2. was extremely unprofessional and yelled at me over the phone claiming I wasn't going to pay (meanwhile the other jobs had just been finished a day earlier and I had paid according to schedule up until that point). They have been harassing both me and my husband with multiple phone calls requesting payment when the other jobs were just finished the day before. Now they charged my credit card without my authorization for an amount I never agreed to. I have been waiting a week for documentation of a 5 year warranty on a product they installed, and they keep blowing it off. The workers who came to the house were punctual and did good work from what I can tell, but dealing with the "business managers" ruined the whole experience. Bottom line: these guys are very unprofessional when it comes to managing a business and dealing with paying customers. If you end up using this company for some unfortunate reason, get EVERYTHING in writing down to the smallest detail and demand an itemized bill. These guys are not to be trusted!

Bucky is an expert carpenter and really understands pocket doors, which I assure you many carpenters do not. He is truly a craftsman who takes great pride in his work and getting as close to perfect as possible. We had had a terrible experience with a GC for our renovation who had framed our pocket doors, then ordered the wrong doors (and never paid ...More for them) and left the job. Bucky came with to measure and ordered the correct size doors for the openings, and also was the first and only carpenter to tell us that he wouldn't need to remove all the moulding around the door openings in order to install the doors. He and his workers came at the appointed hour (the appointment was set up very quickly after the correct doors were delivered), set up shop so as not to disturb any of the furniture, etc., worked continually until completion, and cleaned up when they were finished. They were all extremely professional, polite and competent.
As for , was extremely responsive in returning phone calls, setting up appointments, following up on the door manufacture and delivery, etc. She was professional and very easy to work with.
Not only would I use them again but I plan on hiring right away so that Bucky can return and do some "fine-tuning" on some other door and carpentry issues left over from the renovation.

Excellent, completely honest, trustworthy and reliable. Will definitely be using in the future as all of the tasks they undertook were done very professionally.

did a great job providing suggestions on how best to design the closet for maximum use of space. Scheduling the job was pretty easy and quick, and he completed the project very quickly with lots of attention to detail. He also did a good job of cleaning any debris or dust once he was done. I would definitely use again.

I had hired Nick a couple of years ago to paint the outside of the house I was living in. His men did an incredible job. When I bought my apartment, I called him in to do the work. I did not even bother to get another estimate. He is expensive, and worth every penny. He painted a 2400 sq. ft. apartment to my color specifications, hung wallpaper, ...More removed a closet door and framed it out for a new bifold door, attached door stops and switch and outlet plates, had his electrician hang fixtures, and do wiring for TV and internet. He removed a whole wall of mirror which was becoming detached from the wall, and repaired and painted that wall. No one would ever know anything had hung there at one time. I did wind up paying over and the figure above, because I then had the electrician remove a good bit of recessed lighting, and install lighting.
