F
"If you’re looking for quality and fair pricing, we do NOT recommend using
. Here's why: Our project manager (Lifestyle Space" Design) hired
to fabricate a Vetrazzo recycled glass countertop for our kitchen. The Vetrazzo we chose lists at $133.00/sq. ft. and our countertop is 20 square feet.
charged us $5,500 for a full slab (45 sq. ft.) so that the counter could be made in one piece with material left over to make matching window sills. When we came in to inspect the job we were very disappointed to see that the counter had been fabricated in two pieces rather than one, with an ugly seam and a large blue
left by Marble Work’s installer (see attached). Also, after the countertop was installed
changed their story and claimed that the Vetrazzo price was actually $276.50/sq. ft. (over twice the going rate quoted by other suppliers) and that there was no material left over from our slab for the window sills.
said that if we wanted matching window sills, it would be an additional $2,000. We called the
office and spoke to the owner’s daughter
Barmaksiz to ask why we had been overcharged for a poor job. Ms.Barmaksiz told us that since our project manager had placed the order using our credit card,
could charge us whatever they wanted. When we protested Ms. Barmaksiz stated that “this is America, it’s how business works. It’s your problem if you paid too much. The job is over.” In summary,
grossly overcharged us for a substandard job. Our advice:
’t walk but run from

Artificial (quartz) is cheaper, more uniform, has fewer voids to collect dirt, and is almost as abrasion and chip resistant.

Granite is more expensive, stains and collects dirt a little easier as a rule, and is slighly more chip resistant as a rule.

For durability, I would not rate one over the other - barring a 250 lb guy hopping up on it and cracking it, either is likely to outlive you. Selection is typically based on appearance - quartz tends to be more uniform looking and does not always do a good job of simulating the veining and variations that natural stone has.

?

Now some of the man made stone counters rival the real granite and othe stones without the maintainence of stone. There are many of them out there and it is more a choice of looks than anything else. Corian is still a strong choice of tops today and one advantage is it can be repaired when scratched on site. If you don't mind the maintainence you can't beat the looks of real stone though unless you need a few pieces to make up the top as the graining may be hard to match up. I am impressed though at how realistic some of the man made products have become. It is more an issue of what brand are available in your area. Most all are made the same way with crushed stone and basically an epoxy binder used to make the sheets.

This is my second renovation with
New York Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
. He did a complete kitchen renovation about 3 years and I chose him after extensive research and interviews. As I was totally happy with his work I chose him again to do this renovation. The team is even better than several years ago. They are completely and quickly responsive to my needs and questions. The workers are top notch courteous, clean, and skilled. The work went very smoothly and quickly with a minimum of disruption and stress. I am extremely happy with the finished product.
New York Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
also has a handyman service for small jobs which I have used. I find all my experiences with
New York Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
and his team to be terrific and I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone.

We were very pleased with the speed and price. From the time we selected and paid for our natural granite countertop, it only took about a week to have them cut it and install it. It turns out some of the measurements they did weren't exactly right (we're talking fractions of an inch) so things weren't totally perfect but it was less than half the price and much faster than other places we looked at. I'd work with them again anytime. The people at the store were very nice and very responsive, and the installers were really nice, efficient, and respectful.

The installation was fine. Two years later, while still under warranty, the handles on my freezer started coming off. In attempts to get service, I called 10 different times and never got a response until I reminded them that I had spent $75,000. Repairmen were then sent who fixed the problem, identifying faulty installation (the company's responsibility) as the problem. Now no longer under warranty, I have the same problem with my refrigerator. I am prepared to pay for a service call, but once again have been getting the cold shoulder and have made 6 calls in the past 4 weeks, to no avail. As I am showing my apartment, I am getting frequent questions on why the door handle to the refrigerator is loose. Dare I tell them it's because the arrogant folks I paid $75,000 to don't' bother to followup with me? I probably won't do that, but I will certainly tell all the folks buying and renovating in my coop, where I am on the board and vet all newcomers, to avoid like h*** any association with this company. Sadly for them, I am often complemented on the kitchen when I interview folks paying $1-3m for apartments they want to renovate, but have to tell them that there are problems with the company and to avoid them. Word of mouth counts for a lot in business, particularly in residential renovation.

Initially at the NJ location friendly and helpfuil staff. However I had a problem with my cabinets and needed to put on hold the installation due to alterations. When communicsating with this company over the phone they were not very helpful, multiple calls, no one talks to one another, or takes notes on your order, passed around multiple times and they seemed very annoyed at all times. They had to make an adjustment cut off an inch or 2 off the back of the slab and was told it wouldnt be much initially only like 30 dollars but they tacked on an additional $300 fior sending out the tempoolate guy again. Then the template was put in and the seam looked horrible. Luckily this time they were more helpful after I sent the evidence (pictures of the seam) and sent someone right away. The guy that fixed it was very nice and helpful and did a great job and fast.
So mixed review overall- the inital meet and final meet went well but the in between was very annoying- and I also don't like haiving to write a bank check for the remainder of the deposit- feels unsafe and shady.

I would highly recommend
New York Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
. From the start of a major apartment renovation,
New York Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked

was helpful, professional, courteous, and accountable. He worked with
me to clarify renovation vision, pick materials, solicit feedback,
manage vendors, and execute the substantial improvements.
While this was my first home renovation, I look forward to working with
New York Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
for future home projects. I've already recommended him to my sister and a few good friends. He's that good!

I wish I had read the earlier review of
New York Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
on Angie's List instead of assuming that Costco would contract only with quality companies. Unfortunately, my experience was quite similar. Things weren't great from the start. They didn't return phone calls, and when the guy came to do the template, he arrived well after the end of the window I had been told. He said they had given him a different window, and that
New York Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
made mistakes like that a lot.
It got much worse when they actually tried to install the counters. On the first attempt, they brought up the first piece, and when they went down to get the second piece, the truck had disappeared. It took them 45 minutes to track down the driver, who was just supposed to go around the block once because he was double-parked. When he finally returned, they discovered he had failed to secure my counter (and another counter that was scheduled for a later installation elsewhere) before driving off, damaging all the counters.
It got even worse once I had to start dealing with the
New York Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
reps. I second the other reviewer's experience of a shocking lack of professionalism. I was told it would be almost two weeks before they would come back to try again. I asked about having a smaller delivery window, since, like most people with full-time jobs, I really can't take off a half-day off work twice in two weeks. I was berated for even asking. When I pressed the matter, I was told it was impossible to have a smaller window than 3 hours because of "traffic," even though I was the first delivery of the day.
They did offer to have the installer call me when he was leaving. Nobody ever called. When they arrived and tried to install the second piece of counter, they damaged both pieces and scraped a bunch of paint off the wall. The installer admitted that he'd made a terrible mistake. He said it should have been obvious that the smaller piece in the back corner needed to be installed first, that damage was inevitable in trying to install it second. That means that not one but two different installers from
New York Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
made that same basic mistake: The first installer also planned to install the smaller piece second. So even if my counter hadn't been damaged the first time in the truck, it almost definitely would have been damaged in the installation.
The installer told me that someone from
New York Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
would call me later that day to reschedule. Nobody called until eight days later. They told me the soonest they could come back was more than two weeks after the second installation attempt - four weeks after the day they should have installed the counters. When I told them I needed to figure out when I could take off work (since it was now three times in under a month), they told me that if I didn't commit to an installation date immediately, I would "
New York Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
my place in line." At that point, I hung up and called Costco.
New York Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
would later lie to Costco about what happened during the first installation attempt.

The team was on time, pleasant, professional, super neat and very competent. They prepared the kitchen and the area around it as if it was their own home. When a problem came up, they called the owner to confirm the needed fix.
The countertops are made to fit over the existing countertops. They look great. No sealing, etc.
The price was a bit high, but it saved me time and work. My kitchen really came to life with these countertops. I love it!

New York Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
sold me an engineered concrete countertop, which was defective. It bubbled and blistered within weeks of installation. They came out to fix it multiple times, but the problems persisted. The even templated to replace the countertop if the defects persisted, which they did. They acknowledged that once in a while the concrete mix doesn't cure properly, and this may be the case here. So we asked for a replacement, and they responded that they suddenly no longer carry the product.
They
New York Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
offered to provide a lifetime repair warranty, but at the rate the countertop was displaying defects, they would have been to my house every other month for the next 20 years. At that point I had serious doubts that they would make good on such a promise. And I was not interested in the continual worry that my $7000 countertops need to be repaired, and the hassle of arranging a time for them to repair them. This was not a satisfactory outcome.
New York Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
refused to provide a refund and then blamed the defects on me! The countertop continues to blister and chip, and I now have to replace them at my own cost. In all my years I have never seen a company treat customers with such utter disregard.
I would not recommend this company. caveat emptor.
