New York Countertop Installers Reviews

"I wish I had read the earlier review of
New York Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
on Angie's List instead of assuming that Costco would contract only with quality companies. Unfortunately, my experience was quite similar. Things weren't great from the start. They didn't return phone calls, and when the guy came to do the template, he arrived well after the end of the window I had been told. He said they had given him a different window, and that
New York Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
made mistakes like that a lot.
It got much worse when they actually tried to install the counters. On the first attempt, they brought up the first piece, and when they went down to get the second piece, the truck had disappeared. It took them 45 minutes to track down the driver, who was just supposed to go around the block once because he was double-parked. When he finally returned, they discovered he had failed to secure my counter (and another counter that was scheduled for a later installation elsewhere) before driving off, damaging all the counters.
It got even worse once I had to start dealing with the

reps. I second the other reviewer's experience of a shocking lack of professionalism. I was told it would be almost two weeks before they would come back to try again. I asked about having a smaller delivery window, since, like most people with full-time jobs, I really can't take off a half-day off work twice in two weeks. I was berated for even asking. When I pressed the matter, I was told it was impossible to have a smaller window than 3 hours because of "traffic," even though I was the first delivery of the day.
They did offer to have the installer call me when he was leaving. Nobody ever called. When they arrived and tried to install the second piece of counter, they damaged both pieces and scraped a bunch of paint off the wall. The installer admitted that he'd made a terrible mistake. He said it should have been obvious that the smaller piece in the back corner needed to be installed first, that damage was inevitable in trying to install it second. That means that not one but two different installers from
New York Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
made that same basic mistake: The first installer also planned to install the smaller piece second. So even if my counter hadn't been damaged the first time in the truck, it almost definitely would have been damaged in the installation.
The installer told me that someone from
New York Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
would call me later that day to reschedule. Nobody called until eight days later. They told me the soonest they could come back was more than two weeks after the second installation attempt - four weeks after the day they should have installed the counters. When I told them I needed to figure out when I could take off work (since it was now three times in under a month), they told me that if I didn't commit to an installation date immediately, I would "

my place in line." At that point, I hung up and called Costco.

would later lie to Costco about what happened during the first installation attempt.

"The team was on time, pleasant, professional, super neat and very competent. They prepared the kitchen and the area around it as if it was their own home. When a problem came up, they called the owner to confirm the needed fix.
The countertops are made to fit over the existing countertops. They look great. No sealing, etc.
The price was a bit high, but it saved me time and work. My kitchen really came to life with these countertops. I love it!

sold me an engineered concrete countertop, which was defective. It bubbled and blistered within weeks of installation. They came out to fix it multiple times, but the problems persisted. The even templated to replace the countertop if the defects persisted, which they did. They acknowledged that once in a while the concrete mix doesn't cure properly, and this may be the case here. So we asked for a replacement, and they responded that they suddenly no longer carry the product.
They

offered to provide a lifetime repair warranty, but at the rate the countertop was displaying defects, they would have been to my house every other month for the next 20 years. At that point I had serious doubts that they would make good on such a promise. And I was not interested in the continual worry that my $7000 countertops need to be repaired, and the hassle of arranging a time for them to repair them. This was not a satisfactory outcome.

refused to provide a refund and then blamed the defects on me! The countertop continues to blister and chip, and I now have to replace them at my own cost. In all my years I have never seen a company treat customers with such utter disregard.
I would not recommend this company. caveat emptor.

"After an on-line inquiry, I chatted with a very helpful sales person, who then set up an appointment for one of their people to come out and have a look at our kitchen -- which was totally outdated (since the 1970's at least), with appliances on their last legs.

For midtown Manhattan, we have a pretty large kitchen area, and the renovation had to be complete -- tearing out everything, putting an arched doorway on its entrance, replacing all counters, appliances, flooring and cupboards.

Thank goodness Osh was given our assignment, and took charge of our project. Working with him was great!
Amazingly, I still like him and have recommended him to friends! He took over every aspect, and absolutely stuck to the promised schedule and pricing limits. His workers were also efficient and helpful.

The only thing with which I was slightly unhappy involved the height of granite on the window ledge -- something I never even mentioned to Osh and the workers -- a decision taken when I was out of town for a few days. I decided that what they did was fine, but It is best if one stays on top of all decisions like that -- and I had let the ball drop on that occasion.

Apart from that, the 5-year warranty offered by

-- even on the appliances -- was an appealing aspect!

Mind you, Osh is out of the country right now, and I do need one part of the cupboards repaired. So, I'll let you know if there are any
problems with their follow-up!

"Home remodeling and changes should be fun and hassle free. Working with Bill is exactly that - he has a can do attitude for everything. He really enjoys what he does, is a true professional, and is a full pleasure to work with. The entire job was 100% custom and made to order to specifications that I designed. He had previously done the custom closet work for me so this was my "phase 2" with him. The project took a couple of months from design to (offsite carpentry) build, to install. The actual install was a few weeks in December. Bill was very involved in the design process and very collaborative, was very honest and upfront about the costs and expense of what I wanted, and wasn't settling for "good enough" - really wanted things to come out exactly how I (and we) had imagined it. All-in-all Bill and his team at Oasis are just really good, honest, and hard working people. Totally responsive and A+ all the way...I'm kind of dissapointed that there aren't more large projects to work with him on...I don't think I'll ever call anyone else."

"The price was about $90000 for 575 square feet and it included everything. It turned out great and the guy we dealt with was good. I would definitely recommend him. They got everything done on time. They also followed up on any issues that came up afterwards without any problems. They cleaned up the general space of the building everyday. "

"We were and continue to be so happy with their fine work. Their expertise in all areas ? cabinet installation, tiling, etc. was always professional. They were wonderful to deal with ? advising us on design decisions and ways to save money. And their costs were absolutely competitive. We interviewed several potential contractors and their prices were among the fairest ? especially impressive considering the very high quality of their work. We can?t recommend

highly enough.

"It did not go well. They were very unprofessional with their behavior in my home. They made a mess; they sod the stone in my living room with out covering anything. They dropped stone and had to come three times to install a window sill properly. "

"From the get-go Bill was super responsive and always pleasant. His demeanor and honesty made the entire process enjoyable. He was very helpful in coaxing from me the exact design and working with me (a remodeling first-timer) to help pick out the details (from the right materials to the right lighting). I was worried about not using a designer on such a large project but Bill's feedback and guidance made it easy and the results are phenomenal and well worth the money spent. He was always very proactive in engaging with me to understand my preferences and walking me through the process - including always returning phone calls within 12 hours and sending me daily updates during the work via email. He and his crew were super respectful and took pains to properly protect my apartment and my things and completed the work efficiently with proper care and respect to details. I am ecstatic with how the job turned out and can't wait to start work with Bill on the other projects I'm interested in doing to my new apartment."

"I used A.Y.C. Group previously when I renovated my apartment. This time I wanted to surprise my mother on her 60th birthday with a complete kitchen renovation. I needed everything to work perfectly in order for the surprise to work as my mother was on vacation for two weeks and everything had to be completed in that time frame. Zoltan and his men came through as expected. It is the second time I am left totally impressed with A.Y.C. Group's professionalism, quality of workmanship and attention to detail. While it is one thing that I was impressed with the project when it was completed, but seeing my Mom cry upon entering her kitchen was priceless. She is extremely particular about everything and she had no criticism at all about any part of the work (it is a small miracle in itself). I am grateful to everyone at A.Y.C. for all they have done to make this birthday the most memorable day for my mother."
