"
was wonderful to work with. Very creative, with great ideas and suggestions. He was always conscious of my budget and worked with me on all" price points - cabinetry, shelving, tile, granite, paint - everything! He was also very helpful in the sense that his crew knew their crafts well, and more than a few times, made repairs here and there that really finished and complimented the the work beautifully.

"Bill
is the owner of the business, and he is assisted by his chief carpenter
. I found Bill wonderful to work with," and he gave great advice regarding certain design issues that came up. Once we go the job started, things moved along steadily, though it did take longer than expected. I was completely satisfied with the quality of the work that he and his crew performed. The sub-contractors that did the floor, stone sills, and that did a repair on the stone counter-top that was chipped by the previous owner were all excellent. The plumber did very good work, but he was really expensive, as was the electrician. I suppose that this is par for the course in NYC. Overall, I would definitely use Oasis again based on the work that was done. Bill and his crew were great, honest, up front with the pricing and always helpful. They worked alone in the condo, and I never had any issues with things missing.

Putting the finishing touches on a remodeled room can be a challenge, but with a bit of practice and patience, your crown molding will look like a master carpenter put it up.

There are lots of occurrences that result in dry rot, though most have to do with proper water management in the home, says Lindus. (Photo courtesy of Angie's List member Donna B. of Portland, Oregon)

You need a general contractor - prefereably one who specializes in additions, because you have excavation, waterproofing, concrete, concrete cutting, carpentry, door and window, etc trades to coordinate.

The cost will depend a great deal on your topography around the house - if the base of the window will be above ground level at least 6 inches, then could run about $500 for a legal egress window purchase and about $1000-2000 for installation, depending on how deep into the concrete you have to cut.

If the bottom of the window will be below ground level, then to call it a bedroom (which mandates legal sized second egress and usauully at least one window)  then you will have two choices - bring it out into a solid watertight concrete storm cellar with collar to keep water out, stairs, and and weather and bug-tight cellar door that is inward-opening, which means a lot of space for stairs and landings top and bottom, or bring it out into an oversized window well at least 36 inches in diameter, and with steps to ground level, with adequate drainage and waterproofing to keep it dry. Either way, sometimes about as easy to put in an outside door as a window, and might raise property value more. Cost from $2-5,000 depending on how deep into concrete wall you have to dig, whether concrete wsall needs reinforcing with steel frame because of the depth of cut, how easy the digging is, and what your water conditions are near the foundation. The last thing you want to do is create an easy water or vermin ingress with your egress.

Dictated by Federal LAW , you will need a Licensed and EPA Certified HVAC Contractor

to make such repairs . In fact , by law , ONLY A licenesed HVAC contractor can buy or install

said eguipment , NOT A handyman nor general contractor !

YES , You should have an A.C. sleeve surrounding the through the wall unit . These sleeves will usually accompany NEW products , either as a package or an add on equipment purchase.

Contact a Licenesed PROFFESSIONAL at once !

It depends on what type of ramp you need. If it is built out of wood you could look for a carpenter or a deck company. If you are looking for a concrete ramp a mason would be what you are looking for. There are also metal ramps and I believe some medical supply companies may carry them or be able to steer you in the right direction. As for insurance coverage I am not sure. You may have coverage and would be best talking to your agent. Depending on why you need this ramp there may even be programs through your local government or even some of the local charities might help. It might be a project a local Scout Troop might help out on.

Bucky is an expert carpenter and really understands pocket doors, which I assure you many carpenters do not. He is truly a craftsman who takes great pride in his work and getting as close to perfect as possible. We had had a terrible experience with a GC for our renovation who had framed our pocket doors, then ordered the wrong doors (and never paid for them) and left the job. Bucky came with
New York General Contractors Provider Name Locked
to measure and ordered the correct size doors for the openings, and also was the first and only carpenter to tell us that he wouldn't need to remove all the moulding around the door openings in order to install the doors. He and his workers came at the appointed hour (the appointment was set up very quickly after the correct doors were delivered), set up shop so as not to disturb any of the furniture, etc., worked continually until completion, and cleaned up when they were finished. They were all extremely professional, polite and competent.
As for
New York General Contractors Provider Name Locked
,
New York General Contractors Provider Name Locked
was extremely responsive in returning phone calls, setting up appointments, following up on the door manufacture and delivery, etc. She was professional and very easy to work with.
Not only would I use them again but I plan on hiring
New York General Contractors Provider Name Locked
right away so that Bucky can return and do some "fine-tuning" on some other door and carpentry issues left over from the renovation.

had done much work for us previously, including replacing a floor infested with termites. He helped us plan a complete re-modeling of a top-floor bedroom suite that included an en-suite bathroom and walk-in closet. This is an old house in an historic preservation district and so there are lots of unknowns as the work progressed.
New York General Contractors Provider Name Locked
dealt with it all with great patience, experience, and a designer's eye (as well as a contractor's sense of the practical solution to often quite complicated problems.) We ended up with a superb bathroom and re-modeled walk-in closet. A joy to use every day!

This contractor is no contractor. He came to my home and assessed the job. Emailed me a proposal. Upon acceptance, came back to my home, we executed the contract, I gave him a 50% CASH deposit and arranged for him to come back the following Monday to start the work. He never showed up nor did he provide me with proof of insurance that he alleges he carries. I started to become frantic and began calling him on Sunday evening to arrange the morning arrival - letting into the building, apt etc. He would not pick up his phone, he would not answer text messages and would not respond to emails. I knew soemthing was very wrong and so I went to his place of business on Sunday to find out what was going on and he buzzed me into the building and said I should come into his apt/office to discuss the matter. I did not go into his home but stayed in the hallway and I told him to give me my money back. He refused - I called 911.
The police showed up and explained it was a civil matter and that they could not do anything. He then lied and told the police that he did not let me into the building and that I was trespassing. I left and sent him a few follow up emails that he continued to ignore as well. He finally responded to one of my emails and told me to leave him alone and that he was taking me to small claims court!! For what? Stealing my money?
I went to small claims court the following morning that he was supposed to start the job and filed a suit against him.
I then did research on this man. He has 30 + judgments against him for similar scams as well as a multitude of income tax liens that are unpaid. He has filed bankruptcy twice and eviction proceedings have been started by his landlord multiple times. It appears he finds people willing to give him deposits for jobs and then he uses the money to pay his rent rather than for your renovation.
I am currently retaining an attorney to go after this man criminally as he is a scam artist and fraudster. I would venture to say there are probably a lot more victims out there but just don't bother pursuing going after this guy, knowing that they will never see a dime of the money he stole. I know my judgment I get against him wont be worth the paper its written on but I will continue to pursue every type of recourse I have to put this man out of commission once and for all.
STAY AWAY FROM HIM. HE WOULD PROBABLY STEAL FROM HIS OWN MOTHER GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY.

Awful -- Scsepko is a liar and a thief. He did the demo but then never installed the new walls or doors. His electrical guy did everything illegal (14 gauge wiring, multiple

junction boxes), and he left the wiring exposed in my son's room and my little boy (6 years old) received a bad shock. Scsepko left the work unfinished, with no explanation, and he won't answer phone calls or texts. I have to pay to have the whole thing redone.

I interviewed a number of contractors to finish the job and choose
New York General Contractors Provider Name Locked
because I was impressed with his precision and honesty and what appeared to be an excellent eye for detail. At first I thought there was just the last 20% of the job that needed to be completed but after a thorough inspection by
New York General Contractors Provider Name Locked
, it was clear that the cabinets and counter-top had been installed incorrectly and the electricity had been poorly wired.
New York General Contractors Provider Name Locked
was very honest with me about what needed to be done and gave me options about the extent of "repair" he could do for me. He told me that it was difficult to come after/fix another contractor's work and finish it; that he did not know what they would find once they dug deeper and, thus, indicated he could not estimate the job. He charted me for time and materials. He was upfront with his hourly rate and that of his team. He said he would try to keep his time (the most expensive) to a minimum to make it more affordable. In the end, there were few surprises. The amount came in around what he very roughly estimated in terms of hours and his team (especially
New York General Contractors Provider Name Locked
and
New York General Contractors Provider Name Locked
) were top=notch. The electricians that he uses, although not cheap, were top-notch. They were very responsive to my concerns about cost and did just what they needed to do to ensure that the job was up to code and that the wiring was correct.
All of
New York General Contractors Provider Name Locked
's workers arrived on time, were incredibly efficient, perfectionists and just all around nice guys. I love the kitchen and will be forever grateful for their work "saving" what could have been a nightmare experience with an unethical contractor (my previous contractor). I have since called
New York General Contractors Provider Name Locked
to do another job--a much, much smaller one--and again am pleased with the results. I will be using him often for my future contracting and renovation needs.

I: My LR window wall was crumbling and during cold weather the room was almost uninhabitable. The existing heating unit was an inefficient floor radiator which one turned on and off by bending down and reaching into an awkward little opening for a stubborn rusty knob. The radiator cover was ugly metal. Additionally, electrical components in my apartment were woefully outdated. And the place needed painting. I was completely at sea about how to remedy all this, where to go and whom to trust with the work.
Enter Clay. After assessing the problems, he offered to act as project manager and contacted three companies expert in their fields. One of Clay's many advantages is that over the years he has done many projects with reliable and skilled people, so he is able to recommend only the best to his clients. This also means that since everyone has worked together before, things proceed smoothly.
The old radiator and through-the-wall A/C was to be replaced with a single packaged terminal air conditioning (PTAÇ) unit combining heating and cooling. To house this new unit Clay designed a handsome cover with a panel that can be easily removed when necessary (as for maintenance). The new cover spans the window wall, going up to the sill and providing a wide ledge. Now not only do I have efficient heating and cooling, but the room looks more attractive.
I also needed a new ceiling fan, but was unsure what would look best. Clay took me to a lighting store (off the clock!), and sat down with me at the computer to go through websites. With his help I found the perfect model and had it delivered by the time the electricians arrived.
I cannot imagine how I would have accomplished all this without Clay overseeing it. The three phases of the project--A/C-heating unit, electrical work and painting--had to be carefully coordinated to avoid wasted "waiting" time. This was vital because removing the existing A/C was only part of it. The entire wall there had to be broken up and replaced, and my electricity had to be updated to accomodate the new unit. Then the wall had to be repaired and painted. Thanks to Clay's scheduling and the efficiency of the workmen, everything proceeded like clockwork. I couldn't believe how quickly three teams of workmen did their jobs.
As for cost, Ç
New York General Contractors Provider Name Locked
is completely fair in what he charges. And he's scrupulously honest. One phase of his work proceeded more quickly than he had anticipated, and he adjusted his bill down to reflect the fewer hours.
Phase II: Actually this began a year later, but Clay and I had discussed it during Phase I. I had always dreamed of floor-to-ceiling built-in bookcases in the living room, and since Clay is a meticulous and gifted craftsman I knew I wanted him to design and build them. (Being a painter and sculptor as well, Clay has a fine eye.) The bookcases had to span an entire LR wall, and have sturdy, adjustable shelves that wouldn't buckle under the weight of my books. And I wanted them to look elegant. In addition, I needed access to the outlet on that wall, so Clay had to adjust his design to fit that.
To begin, Clay sketched out a design and brought in
New York General Contractors Provider Name Locked
's Catalog to help me choose a cornice. He discussed the advantages and costs of different woods. During this time I had a new carpet installed. Clay had already taken measurements for the bookcases before this, but came over again to be sure the bookcases would fit with the additional height of the new carpet.
Well, I have my dream built-ins. They are topped with an elegant cornice, stand on a recessed base and have handsome side trim. Painted white, they go perfectly with my contemporary LR. Best of all, these bookcases can be taken with me if I ever move. They were built as five separate units, yet installed to look all of a piece.
Next, Clay designed free-standing bookcases for my bedroom. These house my extensive paperback library, so I had them built to fit paperback dimensions.
While in that room Clay noticed that my windowsill was eroded by water damage and thus quite shabby. He repaired the damage, then suggested a cover to protect the sill and add architectural interest to the window. The room does look 100 per cent improved!
My strange little kitchen has no display shelves and I wanted to show off some of my crockery. Clay built the perfect shelf for that.
Clay is certainly a "find." He's honest, personable, dependable and immensely talented--the kind of pro anyone wants working in their home. He and his assistant Nick were obviously an experienced team, working steadily and quietly throughout the day.
Clay uses his time efficiently. There were no delays. When he said he'd have a design sketch for me by a certain day, he did. Ditto for every phase of his work. He shows up when he says he will; is astonishingly neat and organized and cleans up beautifully at day's end.
When I'm ready for my next project, I will certainly call on Clay. I would not hesitate to recommend him.
