"This work took almost nine hours and everything was done perfectly. 
is very workmanlike, and a true craftsman. He told me right away I didn't need to have my bathrooms regrouted entirely, just where the grout was dried up, which I really appreciated -- I thought it would be a much bigger job. I kept loading projects on him and he didn't seem to mind at all. He really knows how to fix things. I really got my money's worth. I plan to have him back again!"

"Zoltan instilled confidence in me from day one. His customer service is outstanding. I cannot say enough good things about my experience working with him. My job was a relatively small one, and he always treated it with the attention one might expect on a higher-priced job. Zoltan is professional, respectful, responsive, consistent, reliable and a pleasure to work with. I had a number of questions for him before, during and after the project, and he answered each one clearly and in detail. He personally made extra visits to my building, before the project began and after its completion, to ensure the quality of the job. He took proactive steps to save me money, and to achieve the highest quality results. Zoltan's communication is excellent. He consistently updated me on the project's progress, and sent photos, as I was not on site during the project. I had not asked him to send photos, and I was pleasantly surprised when he did. He also emailed to tell me the contractors would not be there one day. He was easy to reach by phone and email. The project was completed in a timely fashion, and the quality of the work is excellent. For peace of mind and great work, Zoltan is your guy. I would love to hire A.Y.C. again!"

"The price was about $90000 for 575 square feet and it included everything. It turned out great and the guy we dealt with was good. I would definitely recommend him. They got everything done on time. They also followed up on any issues that came up afterwards without any problems. They cleaned up the general space of the building everyday. "

"I've done 3 renovations and found that any renovation, large or small, is stressful. There is no getting around it. What sets and his team apart from others is that they know it can be stressful, that the client will be stressed out that things go wrong that are not the fault of the contractor, and they work with you to alleviate the stress. They suggested work-arounds, alternatives, schedule changes, a lot of things--whenever problems arose, and on those rare occasions when they made a mistake, quickly took responsibility and made it right at no cost.
and his team of workmen are excellent. He provided an initial bid in a timely fashion, and worked with me to come up with a price that was within my budget but still accomplished the task. He began when he said he would, and proceeded according to schedule. When he found unexpected problems, we worked them out agreeably. He was very agreeable to revisions as we went along, and charged reasonably for the changes I wanted. He was always available when necessary, by email, phone, or if necessary in person. He regularly appeared on the job to supervise the work, although his team was so good that little supervision was necessary.
His team was very professional, having had a lot of experience doing work of this type. The work took place right underneath the unit I live in, so I know it was not overly noisy. On the rare occasions that I wasn't satisfied with some of the work, he quickly redid it to my liking and did not charge me for this additional work. He involved me in decision making as much as I wanted to be involved. Some things I left to him and his judgment; others I accompanied HIM to Home Depot or other vendors to select cabinets, etc.
I am extremely satisfied with the work that his company did. If I have another project of any kind, would be the only person I would contact and be assured that he would give me a fair price. I wouldn't even have others bid a future job because with I would know that his price was a good price, and he would do the work very well and on schedule."

"We were and continue to be so happy with their fine work. Their expertise in all areas ? cabinet installation, tiling, etc. was always professional. They were wonderful to deal with ? advising us on design decisions and ways to save money. And their costs were absolutely competitive. We interviewed several potential contractors and their prices were among the fairest ? especially impressive considering the very high quality of their work.
We can?t recommend highly enough."

" , from Man @ Work is a true professional. He shows up on time, is focused, neat, and considerate. He is definitely not your average "handyman." He has had a good deal of experience, takes pride in his work, and certainly did a great job for me. He was accommodating to my difficult schedule, a pleasure to work with, and I will definitely call him for jobs in the future. He made it clear that if anything wasn't right, he would be back out to fix it - no problem.
You could get this type of job done cheaper for sure. I have in the past. But, you very probably will be having it redone (I did), costing even more. I think this fits "you get what you pay for" category.

"This is my first time buying an apartment and while I did not "gut" the space, it turned out that I had more to do in the apartment as I noticed while living here the first month or two, interviewing contractors (the only thing done by previous owner was installing new bathroom). I was sold on , president Shoback, after speaking/interviewing a number of other contractors. I found on Angie's list and was impressed that he called me back (yes, there are a number of people who start out not even returning calls or showing up when promised!). met with me, listened to my ideas and offered his own or suggestions for what I was trying to achieve. This included advice on what was not needed or could be done in a more cost efficient way. He also steered me toward affordable, high quality options I knew nothing about, in selecting cabinets and some other material choices. It is not easy doing renovation work in Manhattan, working around coop work hours/rules and other challenges in the city. However, and team worked well with staff and got the job in a reasonable time. His team is highly skilled and pleasant. The result? I am completely satisfied with my "new" new apartment. People who have seen the before and and after have commented on how terrific the place looks, accenting space and view. And, throughout this all, stayed very attentive to the work and to me. He returned my calls and messages and communicated regularly. So, I was also very satisfied with 's professionalism and service. I highly recommend !"

" and his team have done it again. We used for a bathroom renovation last year, and they did an impeccable job. We recently followed up with additional kitchen, bedroom and fireplace work, and they again exceeded expectations. The only issue with the job was a foul up by one of the tile providers (someone with whom I had a relationship). They shipped the wrong tile and were slow to exchange and replace the tile so that the job could be completed - was in constant contact with the tile provider to push them to resolve the situation as quickly as possible. He took responsibility for the situation even though it was the tile provider's fault and my fault (for having selected this tile provider).
My only worry is that and his team will become so popular that they won't be at my and call when we're ready for our next project. Great contractors are tough to find. is an honest, forthright and very nice guy who also has a team of very responsible skilled craftsmen. I highly recommend !"

"Found P & S on Angie's List. Called and dealt with from an estimate visit to job completion. They did a terrific job for my old pre-war bathroom. Professional, skilled and reliable. Highly recommended. Doesn't hurt that they are real New Yorkers either."

"I interviewed six contractors before I met . I was immediately impressed by his professionalism, attention to detail and openness to involving me in all aspects of the job (as opposed to other contractors who had an arrogant "just leave it to me" attitude). did a complete renovation including new bathroom, kitchen, flooring, lighting, painting etc. is a mastercraftsman. He is highly skilled, meticulous and did an outstanding job. An example of this is: I was in the apartment when he was tiling the kitchen floor. He was supervising his worker to make sure the tiling was perfect even in the space under the where it would never be seen. He communicates extensively to make sure you get exactly what you want. The only downside of the experience for me was the way he handled delays. We had several delays in obtaining materials. Towards the end of the job, became extremely frustrated with the delays (some of which he could have averted) and behaved in a less than professional manner. This, however, was a minor glitch in an otherwise excellent experience. I highly recommend him."
