"I like the doctor, Dr
. He was good. You could tell he knew his business. He was very easy to talk to and informative. He answered all my" questions and didn't make you feel rushed. I was able to get in to see him in about two weeks of when I called, which I thought was pretty decent. The environment and staff was fine.

"Dr
was fine - used him before.|However accuracy of communication with staff was consistently incorrect.|I had discussed and agreed with Dr" to have local anesthetic but all phone communication & instructions by surgery staff was for general anesthia - which requires fasting after midnight and no driving self home after surgery. These incorrect pre surgery instructions occurred numerous times over several days up to the checkin admission the day of surgery - even though I offered correction a couple of times. Since I had local anesthia - I was coherent throughout to ensure DR and I were in agreement.

Hand and wrist orthopedics

The medical field of orthopedics focuses on the muscles and bones, and doctors who specialize in hand and wrist orthopedics diagnose, treat and operate on musculoskeletal issues that affect a patient from the elbows all the way down to the fingertips.

Pain on the outside of your wrist could indicate a condition called ulnar abutment syndrome. Also known as ulnar impaction syndrome, it can develop after an acute injury or fall. (Photo by Karen Geswein)

Whoops - I just realized that you may have been looking for Angie's List information on providers outside your home market. To see information on providers that aren't in your home Angie's List chapter, you can elect to pay a small addditional fee (generally about $15 to $20) to add another city's Angie's List to your existing memember.

Learn more about the add-a-city option here.

Sounds like you should be pursuing a disability claim.  Also, you could speak to your previous doctor frankly about your concerns.
Have they made orthotics for your shoes that distribute your weight better?

Hi,

This is James W. with Member Care. Thanks for posting your question.

It looks like when you signed up online on 8/5/2014, that you accidentally joined our greater Portland chapter instead of our Salem/Corvallis chapter that your zip code falls under. I have transferred your subscription to that chapter, so you will now have access to the correct area.

I hope this information helps! Please let me know if I can assist further. You can respond to this thread or submit a new Answers post. You can also reach us at 1-866-783-2980. We're open weekdays from 8:00 am - 9:00 pm and Saturdays 8:00 am - 5:00 pm ET.

Thanks again!

Hello, this is Kyle K from the Member Care Department.

I apologize for my delay. I apologize, but orthopedic surgeons fall under our Orthopedics category which is included in the Health list. Currently, you're enrolled in our Basic membership which only includes access to our Home list.

If you'd like to upgrade your membership to the Plus or Premium plan, we'll be happy to assist you with this search. If interested, give us a call at 1.888.944.5478 and we'll take care of this adjustment. Again, I do apologize for any misunderstanding.

Thanks for writing! - Kyle K

Received an immediate appointment, and he diagnosed the problem basically just by listening to my description of the injury. Said he was not surprised that previous provider did not recognize it because he only does hands and doesn't see that type of injury more than about every 2 years. Required surgery, which was scheduled rapidly, and he was very open about the time in a cast, the steps to get use of the hand back, etc. Very pleased with entire experience.

I had a hand surgery a couple of years ago and the surgeon has since moved to Utah and I have talked to another surgeon as a follow-up. It's very specialized. She was taking over from the surgeon that I had the surgery done. She was very knowledgeable, very friendly, very concerned and she's being sure that I don't have pain that I didn't need to have. She was quick to solve it right there during the appointment and she assured me that I should call back when I have pain or need something. The staff seemed organized and efficient.

He's no-nonsense and tells it like it is. He came highly recommended to me. He's very professional and knows what he's doing; I feel confident in his work. He listens to your questions and addresses each one. I typically wait 30 minutes to be seen when I go in for my appointment.

Dr. Sohlberg was very personable and explained his thoughts regarding my lack of need for further treatment. I waited in teh waiting room for a normal period of time, maybe 20 minutes. Once I got back in the treatment area, he was with me almost immediately.

The PA came in initially reviewed my medical information, then shortly thereafter the Doctor came in to do the evaluation. He explained base thumb arthritis completely and was very thorough about how the injury affected the thumb. From there the Physician explained what could happen in the future and if an operation might be required. I received a prescription for some pain pills and that was it.
Nothing has happened since so no future actions have been needed.

I see the hand specialist, I have like the best in the world. His name is Dr.
New Orleans Carpal Tunnel Provider Name Locked
and he is with
New Orleans Carpal Tunnel Provider Name Locked
. He is an orthopedic surgeon specialist in hand and wrists. They operate in
New Orleans Carpal Tunnel Provider Name Locked
, Columbia, Silver Spring and Gaithersburg and so they have got a big area of work. To other Angie's List members, I would say that if you have any need of a hand or a wrist orthopedic, he is the best ever. I think every patient I have talked to feels the same. He is extraordinary. For availability, he is only in Columbia every Tuesday. He can't be everywhere. The bedside manner would be 'A' plus if I could. They are as good as they get for billing and administration. I would absolutely use them again in the future.

Surgery went really well, took maybe 10 minutes for the actual procedure. When I went back for the follow up and to have the stitches out (there were only 2) I arrived early and was taken back early. The assistant took the stitches out and I didn't have to wait very long before Dr.
New Orleans Carpal Tunnel Provider Name Locked
came in to check my wrist, everything looked good and I was out of there quickly. I was very happy with the care I received from Dr.

and the office staff at the Princess

location which is where I saw him for the post op follow up. They were very professional and prompt. I have already recommended Dr.

The surgery went extremely well. The surgeon (Dr.
New Orleans Carpal Tunnel Provider Name Locked
Jawa) was outstanding. Though the hospital is renowned for orthopedic procedures, if there is only one negative, it is the location of New England Baptist Hospital for those living in Southeastern
New Orleans Carpal Tunnel Provider Name Locked
, particularly horrible to get to/from the
New Orleans Carpal Tunnel Provider Name Locked
/Foxboro area. Parking at the hospital was also a negative, with no validation for visitors, resulting in charges of almost $19 for a 4 hour visit. I am not sure what the address is that you have listed above (Albany Street), but initially visited Dr. Jawa in Waltham and had the operation performed at NE Baptist. I would highly recommend this doctor.
