New Orleans Gutter Repair And Installation Companies Reviews
I recently had my house painted and the gutters along that side of the house collapsed under the painters' ladders. I complained to the painters but they said that the gutters were completely rusted through due to standing water. At this point I have no recourse, and I am partly to blame for not pressing Progressive to fix this problem in the first place. So if you go with them, make sure you stick on them and get the job completed to your full liking.
He took the interior work, which was already done, and the gutter replacement, which was not necessary, against my deductible. ...more />
The estimate he gave me was much higher than what my insurance company wanted to pay, and he told me not to worry about it and he would get them to increase the amount. He said they hadn't included money for a lot of the damage which was done by the storm.
He began the work on the roof. After starting the work, he came to me with a contract stating that prior to any work being done he would contact the insurance company to negotiate the amount to be paid. This didn't make sense to me because he had already started the work. He told me he needed money from me for the work he had done, and I refused since we had not yet signed a contract and I wanted to make sure my insurance company would accept the cost.
He spoke with my insurance company and they had rough negotiations. The insurance company raised the amount of money to meet his recommendations. I thought everything was going great. After he completed the work, the insurance company came out and inspected his work before releasing the first payment. I signed the first payment, $4000, over to him. The inspector wanted the gutters to be replaced, so I verified with him before allowing him to do the gutters that I would not have to pay any more money or the deductible. He told me "Yes."
I signed the second payment over to him. Prior to giving final payment he needs to finish all of the work. When he finishes it, then the insurance company will release the final check. He is now telling me he needs more money and I need to pay him more. He is asking me to pay the $2500 deductible. I told him no way, he confirmed with me twice that I would not have to pay it. He said his company would pay $1000 towards it if I could pay the rest. He presented me with paperwork that I would pay the $1500 within 3 months at a 12% interest rate. I declined.
Now, he is threatening to put a lean on my house because I can't pay him the money he told me twice I didn't need to pay. He is also stating he will not finish the work."
