The new vet makes unilateral decisions without involving the owner, and seems to prefer aggressive treatment plans regardless of the pet's age or the owner's ability to carry out the plan or afford it. When I ask if there are treatment options are she acts insulted. ...more Frequently she provides (and bills for) medications that we could have purchased elsewhere for a fraction of the cost with a prescription, e.g., generic antibiotics. She seems to over treat, giving injectable, oral and topical antibiotics all for the same infection. The vet seems to think she is on a mission to protect animals from their owners even with loving owners who have nurtured their pet into old age. I want a vet who acknowledges the obvious loving care my pet has received, provides me with treatment options, respects my opinions, does not pressure me to buy things from her that I could buy much cheaper elsewhere, and treats me as an ally in my pet's care rather than an obstacle."
