"The cat in question does NOT like having her claws trimmed, or her feet touched at all for that matter. She's normally a sweet cat but she's big and she's strong. It's impossible for me to trim her claws myself because she fights it so hard and I'm afraid I'll accidentally hurt her, to say nothing of her getting so worked up. At BMAH, they use two people -- one to gently but firmly hold her and another to trim her claws. Although she growls and hisses, she doesn't fight them and it's done in no time. When I first adopted this cat from the Humane Association a few years ago, she had a tiny sneeze which turned into full-blown pneumonia over a holiday weekend. She spent most of that weekend at the emergency clinic and then another week at BMAH. She was extremely sick but they pulled her through. Over the years that I've been using BMAH, I've had to have two cats put to sleep, and the vet and techs cried with me while we did it. They'd gotten to know both cats, having treated them for quite some time for the conditions that ultimately took their lives. The treatment the cats got at BMAH let them have longer life and, more important, good quality of life right up till the end. They were so gentle and treated the cats, and the process, with tenderness and dignity. Although most of my experience is with Dr.

, all the doctors are good there. They all obviously care about their patients and all are willing to answer questions and discuss options, etc. The same is true of the techs. The whole staff is wonderful. It's also worth noting that, in the May 2010 flood, although the clinic is very near a creek that flooded businesses all around them (you may have heard about a nearby vet where some animals died in the flood), BMAH had no water intrusion because they had installed a special set of doors or some kind of

- obviously I don't know the details - that kept the water out. That kind of foresight -- who knew the creek would flood so badly so quickly and do the kind of damage it did?? but they were prepared for the possibility -- is VERY impressive, and indicative of the way BMAH does business.

"Dr
Nashville Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
and his staff are great. They care about you and your animals and they don't' try to spend every last dime you have. Dr
Nashville Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
has great experience and will suggest alternatives if he thinks there are good options. He will try to save you money, but won't sacrafice the quality of care for your animals. I have 7 elderly pets- so I see them often. "

"GREAT. The cyst and eyes were checked. I was given an ointment for her eyes. I was impressed from the minute I walked in the door. They were really friendly, professional, prompt, caring, competent and any other positive adjective. Just an overall start to finish positive experience."

"Three of my dogs have lived wonderful, full lives and lived at least 15 years each...Dr.
Nashville Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
was so compassionate and did not try to get us to do treatments to prolong the dog's life...Dr.
Nashville Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
could see that "it was time...." and offered wonderful support. It is hard to make that decision and I appreciate Dr.
Nashville Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
for allowing us to make the decision without pressure.

"Not good as is covered above. I thought the office was too expensively done, too. I knew when I saw the Flat Screen TV's in the examining room that it wasn't going to be cheap."

"We have taken our dog to this clinic for years, and it recently changed hands to a new vet. The new vet makes unilateral decisions without involving the owner, and seems to prefer aggressive treatment plans regardless of the pet's age or the owner's ability to carry out the plan or afford it. When I ask if there are treatment options are she acts insulted. Frequently she provides (and bills for) medications that we could have purchased elsewhere for a fraction of the cost with a prescription, e.g., generic antibiotics. She seems to over treat, giving injectable, oral and topical antibiotics all for the same infection. The vet seems to think she is on a mission to protect animals from their owners even with loving owners who have nurtured their pet into old age. I want a vet who acknowledges the obvious loving care my pet has received, provides me with treatment options, respects my opinions, does not pressure me to buy things from her that I could buy much cheaper elsewhere, and treats me as an ally in my pet's care rather than an obstacle."

"There isn't just one story - we've been to her countless times for our dog. Our dog loves her and actually is excited to go to the vet. She gets down on the floor with our dog and spends time with her before the exam to make her as comfortable as she can. She loves every animal and is so good at her job."

"We love this vet. Just over a year ago, I moved to Nashville from a small rural town in VA. We had had the same vet for twelve years who knew us like we were family. Shortly after moving, my eldest dog, at 15 years, needed to be put to sleep. From the first time I called to find out if they could see us that day, they were very helpful and understood what I was going through in making that decision. Not only did they see us right away, they treated us as if they had known us for years. I was most impressed when the vet who treated us actually took the time to write his own personal note in the condolence card that they sent. I found a place that treats us like we're at home. They love our other dog, and for that, the price is immeasurable. We will only take our pets to

"Dr.
Nashville Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
and her staff are incredible. When I brought my dog to her she would call to check on my girl. Now I have adopted a sick cat and she calls to check on him. They (the doc and the staff) are wonderful and very caring people. I cannot sing their praises enough. I tell EVERYBODY I know who owns a pet to take their animal(s) to her."

"Excellent. I have had all my cats followed for preventive care and acute care by Drs.
Nashville Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
and
Nashville Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
for over 12 years. This is a very unique and special veterinary practice in a remodeled ranch-style house, where ONLY CATS are treated. Cat lovers connect easily in the reception area. I've learned a lot about cats from the doctors and staff, and they're consistently helpful and involved in the world of my cats and my involvement with the cats. They're also careful to let me know about costs, and to try to help me save money where I can even to the point of recommending some on line purchases over regular, more-expensive purchases from the office. Really good people, very accommodating. When my 18-year-old cat was blind and chronically ill, Dr.
Nashville Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
helped me understand that euthanizing her would be premature, despite friends' recommendations. When it was "time" 2 years later, he called on a Sunday morning while on his rounds, to let me know.
