Nashville Masonry Contractors Reviews

"I had previously had another company inspect my chimneys and said I needed $6000 worth of work. Mr.
Nashville Masonry Contractors Provider Name Locked
came and said chimneys were clean and were in great condition. I am glad that I did not trust the other company and their quote and found an honest person. I will be using him yearly for chimney inspections and any repairs down the line.
"We bought a Angie's List deal for a chimney cleaning and inspections for $99 or so and then asked for another as we have two chimneys and the company agreed to the reduced rate of $99 to do the second one. They were extremely nice to talk with. They ended up charging us around $500 or so because we have 4 fireplaces. One chimney services 3 of the fireplaces, so there was a bit of a misunderstanding of the real cost. The second two fireplaces were charged at a higher rate. The reason we didn't use them for repairs is the numbers they gave us were so high we were shocked. They wanted around $50,000 to rework what they said needed doing. The previous owners had been using the chimneys and so we were very surprised at the estimate to care for them. So we ended up spending a lot of money and didn't end with anything useful to us. Some of the photos they emailed with the estimate were of someone else's chimneys. In the other photos they sent, we couldn't really tell what we were looking at. They were just blurry dark photos. We just didn't feel like we could work with them because of the cost and because we couldn't really tell if the problems they suggested were really there. I'm not saying they weren't being honest, it just wasn't possible to tell. They were extremely polite though.
"I had taken advantage of an Angie's list special to have my chimneys and dryer vents cleaned and inspected. The fireplace special was for $111 and the dryer cleaning was $179. The second fireplace would cost $179 (not charged for this, see below).
Two technicians came, and after cleaning my dryer vent (I think they did this), they began on my downstairs fireplace. After completing there, they examined my upstairs fireplace and informed me that it was so bad, they would have to come back with more powerful tools and possibly chemicals, which would require additional charges.
They showed me lots of pictures that they said indicated that one of my fireplaces was unsuitable for use and would require major repairs costing thousands of dollars. They also found problems with my chimneys that would need expensive repairs. They recommended a chimney coating procedure that they said was guaranteed for 20 years, although I got the impression that it had only been available for less than 10.
After receiving their estimate of the work they recommended, which totaled over $10,000, I sought a second opinion from another professionally accredited chimney company. I did not

to them what I had been told, I just set up an appointment for cleaning and inspection. When the technician arrived, I was clear that I was especially concerned about the safety of my fireplaces, and I was willing to make any repairs that were necessary.
This technician came prepared to do the rotary cleaning on my dirtier fireplace, which did not carry additional charges, and he also informed me that my downstairs fireplace was in need of cleaning. I told him that

had performed this task, and he told me it still needed to be cleaned. After he had completed his inspections, I asked him about the specific items that
Nashville Masonry Contractors Provider Name Locked
had indicated were problem areas. He had found a few minor problems, which he corrected, but he did not agree with the assessment of

, even after I told him that I was willing to make any repairs or perform preventative maintenance to head off future problems.
This company is well equipped to make major repairs and had done so in my home in the past, so I believe that if he had found significant problems, he would have suggested that I take action. The total charge for the work he conducted in my home was $200.

did follow up with phone calls to see if I had questions, and they offered to assign priorities to the suggested repairs according to the degree of severity. However, I was not inclined to continue working with them.

"He did an excellent job. I never even notice the repair. I love the front of this house and was really upset when the damage was done.

made it go away. I really thank him and appreciate his hard work and attention to detail. And am glad to have this place to say so. I highly recommend him."

at Landscape Creations worked with us to rework pathways and landscaping both in front and back of our Nashville home. The was a bit of a hickup due to a lost phone at the start of our interaction but thereafter
Nashville Masonry Contractors Provider Name Locked
was very responsive and provided alot of quality advice about how to best accommodate our needs while maximizing our budget. The work was undertaken exactly as promised (weather not withstanding) and we are very happy with the outcome. I would certainly recommend

Licksko at Landscape Creations for landscaping, pathway and other outdoor work here in Nashvile
"Initially called
Nashville Masonry Contractors Provider Name Locked
for an estimate on Fireplace and Chimney Repair and installation of a Lock-top Damper.
Nashville Masonry Contractors Provider Name Locked
came out to do the assessment and was extremely helpful and honest about which repairs he recommended and which ones he didn't think were needed. He quoted $450 for locktop damper and installation, $115 for patchwork of the back wall of the fireplace (needed repair and replacement of 2 firebrick), $175 for patching of an ash-dump door and pouring of a new fireplace floor, and $375 to pour a new crown on the chimney (had lots of water damage and an extremely deteriorated crown). I ended up getting all the work except the lock-top damper done, and they honored a 10% off coupon from Angie's list. The same person who did the estimate was the one who came out to do the work,

. I decided to purchase the lock-top damper and try to install it myself and
Nashville Masonry Contractors Provider Name Locked
even helped with that when he was here - which I thought was extremely nice of him! He definitely went above and beyond my expectations. The whole experience was professional and I would definitely recommend this company for future services. Thanks

"I called them for an estimate on repairing my front steps, they came and looked it over, said it looked like a big job, and would email me an estimate. never contacted me again, never bothered to say they weren't interested in the job."
"The phone person set an appointment for an estimate on the first phone call, and gave a time within a 1 hour window on a day of my choice within 2 days of my call. The estimator showed up on time, made the measurements, and I had an estimate via e-mail the same day. The office person called the next day to be sure the meeting went well. I ok'd the work as estimated (except I opted for no sealant which would've added another $250), and they set a time for the work to begin within 2-3 days. Workers showed up early that am, ground out all the old mortar, and would'vbe finished the same day, but couldn't pour mortar due to rain. They returned the next day and finished. After about 2 days they returnd to do the cleaning acid wash. I was able to do the transaction by phone (pay 1/2 half to my credit card before work started, and the remaining half by phone to the credit card after work completed) Everyday, someone from office would call to be sure all was to my satisfaction. My only complaint is that they seem to be a bit expensive (although I did not get another estimate), and the workers left some trash (soft drink bottles and paper cups) under the shrubs around the front door. I called to complain about the trash after the work was done, and the receptionist apologized and offered to have someone come right out and clean it up, but I had already thrown the trash away."
"He comes on time, he comes in on budget, he offers great suggestions. His crew are really great reliable guys. His years of experience show."
"Excellent job. In most places you can't even tell that it's newly-done work. I called other handymen but this is the only place where the person I talked to on the phone understood exactly what I needed, instead of somebody just taking messages to pass on to other workmen. Later, when I talked to
Nashville Masonry Contractors Provider Name Locked
, it was apparent that he was well-experienced with this kind of work. I thought his price quote seemed a little high, but the job ended up taking a lot longer than I thought it would, so I am satisfied with the value and especially with the quality of work."
