Dermatology reviews in Nashville

My eldest son and I went to the office: he went for some warts on his hand and I went for sun damage spots on my back. The assistant came into the room refused to communicate with us at all, then tapped the nitrogen like a "magic wand" on the spots on my back and my son's hand. We left the office and noticed a couple of days later that there was not change in the "treated" areas. I telephoned the office to tell them what happened during the appointment and the outcome. The office manager stated that he would ruin my son's and my credit should be not pay for the treatment we did not receive. I then called the office and spoke to the doctor's nurse explaining what had transpired during the appointment. She indicated that I should make another appointment to talk to the doctor (the doctor does not speak to patients without an appointment ever). My son and I drove 20 miles back to the office for the appointment and waited 40 minutes, with no one else in the waiting room. When we were called back we were told we could not see the doctor to speak to him unless we paid for the appointment that we wanted to discuss with him. I explained why I did not want to pay for it until I spoke to the doctor and we were turned away. We drove back home 20 more miles. I contacted the TN Department of Commerce and Insurance regarding the matter.

would not let them mediate the situation. At this point we did not here from them for several months. Suddenly out of the blue they are calling my son and sending threatening notes to his college dorm. I have also received a letter from an attorney stating that she represents them. This whole mess could have been avoided to begin with had the doctor taken the time to talk to us. I had been going to this office for 7 years and paid every bill sent to me. Currently, I am talking with the BBB, writing reviews with every complaint source available and contacting attorneys on our behalf. My son had his problem resolved by a fantastic dermatologist in

Dermatology which I would recommend to anyone and everyone. This place actually cares about their patients and provided literature along with suggestions for treatment. I am not sure how this will play out, but I no longer want my son harassed at school. He is taking 18 credit hours and heading into his finals soon.

Overall our experience was exceptionally negative. It was very difficult to get an appointment with the physician we preferred. The other physician was very odd, making statements like "I bet you ride a unicycle," completely out of context. The physician assistant offered no help other than recommending botox on our adolescent daughter. Finally, the billing office billed incorrectly -- submitting a claim to our secondary insurance. Two years later, the secondary insurance denied the claim as incorrectly billed and it was a huge problem to get the primary insurance to cover it. Months later, after hours on the phone with our insurance carriers and harassment from

Derm, the only way we could get the claim closed was to PAY MORE THAN OUR PORTION as stated on our EOBs. It was overall a terrible experience.

First consult on a skin condition -- referral to her -- and she pulled her chair up close to me to talk, listened to me, then looked at my body. She offered options, pluses and minuses, as well as her suggested options. She was realistic and made the decision mine. She did two different approaches on my skin so effectiveness can be compared. Had photos taken. (

is a great nurse assistant!!) In addition, she prescribed a cream that my referring dermie hadn't even mentioned as a possibility! I'm doing that now. Liked her a lot -- very personable and genuine, as well as professional, fair, and effective. It's not often that one likes the front-office staff, but they're kind and efficient as well. As for the aesthetic consult, it was wonderful in that they were seeking demo patients on a new procedure that i was interested in trying.
