"We never got to use these guys, because we decided to sell building. BUT...they were so nice and so responsive, I actually felt guilty cancelling the job.
" and Ed were helpful, informative, professional, called back immediately, and seemed so trustworthy . Just call them and see what I mean.

"We had to postpone our initial appointment at the last minute and weren't sure when we could reschedule, but when we finally were able to set a date, we called" back and left a message. Mr.
soon called back to say he had an opening the following morning. He arrived promptly and began the job. The pedestal sink had been moved out of the bathroom in order to replace the water lines. He moved the (heavy!) sink back into the room and set it in place, covered everything in our newly painted bathroom, set up the ventilator fans and got to work. It was finished in about two hours, After the work was done, he left everything in good order -- no dust, no mess. when I asked about the strong odor that resulted from the process, he suggested opening windows for a little while, but assured us that the odor would dissipate as the surface continued to dry. He was friendly and energetic and very professional, and the sink looks good again. We actually paid less than the cost of the service. He told me as I was writing the check that he had misquoted the actual cost on the phone, but that he would honor the cost he had quoted and would not ask for anything more.

Bathtub refinishing

Over time, the bathtub can begin to show signs of wear with stains, scratches, a dull finish or other ugly marks. Bathtub refinishing is an option that can return a bathtub or shower enclosure to like-new appearance.

OK - terminology issue here. The "shower pan" is a collection liner than underlies the shower floor itself, and is designed (if built and plumbed right) to trap any leakage from the shower floor and route it to the same floor drain pipe. Example image here, copper in this case -

It sounds like your are saying the shower floor or base unit failed - likely a fiberglass or plastic shower, which commonly fail due to incomplete support under them. This can be repaired if fiberglass, but is not usually done unless just microcracking, as it is hard to find an expert - usually you have to have a car body fiberglass specialist or a surfboard repair expert do it, and the color will not match perfectly unless you get a new gelcoat over the entire base unit. Cost about $300-500, ASSUMING the material can be repaired - true fiberglass can, thermoplastic can sometimes be welded but anyone's guess how long it will last without cracking again, plastics like PVC can rarely be fixed so they will hold someone standing on them. Any sort of repair is likely to crack again, because you have done nothing to remove the cause of the cracking which is standing on a base that is not fully supported over its full extent. Some cheepo or desperate plumbers try injecting non-pressuring type expanding foam underneath to improve the support - this does a great job of supporting it but unfortunately supports mold, so starts stinking in short order as a rule.

The normal fix is to remove and replace it, because once it is out there is no sense in putting a damaged one back in for the small increment in cost. Removing it means taking the shower wall liners or the bottom row or two of tile out so you can get the new base unit into place (because they overlap it), then replacing them. So, the $3000 range indicated is indicative of this type of job, which typically runs from a very low of around $1500-2000 for an identical base unit, to more typically $3-5,000 depending on whether a shower enclosure or tile walls. Of course, when the new one is put in, it is CRITICAL that it be fully supported - this means rubbing plumbers rouge or similar marking substance on the bottom, test fitting it, and then lifting it out and checking that all the stiffener ribs and support pads made contact with the pan, and making adjusments as necessary until it has full contact, then standing in it and rocking back and forth to check for any points not making full contat and fixing them.

The $10,000 plus numbers you got must have been for entire shower replacement down to the joists and studs, and the $30,000 range number would be typical for a full bathroom remodel with new shower or shower/tub and doors and surround, wall finishes, vanity, sink, toilet, and flooring and door.

We used
Nashville Bathtub Refinishers Provider Name Locked
about three years ago to resurface two bathrooms in a rental unit. We have been very pleased with their work and the way the surface has held up. So when we decided to re-do bathrooms at our house we decided to use them to resurface in two of our three bathrooms. Their work is excellent, and both bathrooms look like new. People who use this process need to remember to clean only with non-abrasive cleaners and nothing caustic. Both in our house and in the rental unit we did a mix of solid color surface (white or beige) and a stone look for some countertops. Turned out very well. The
Nashville Bathtub Refinishers Provider Name Locked
representatives were professional, arrived when scheduled, and completed the job in the time frame scheduled. We would use them again. We have seen other examples of re-surfacing that didn't turn out as well and did not hold up under use.

Overall I had a very positive experience with
Nashville Bathtub Refinishers Provider Name Locked
, and would use them again, but don't be deceived by their Angie's List coupon/discount, because it isn't quite as good as it sounds. It is true that they refinished my tub for $500, but apparently that doesn't count removing the old finish which they still charged an additional $170 for, so the tub wasn't truly refinished for $500. Still, the coupon saved my about $50 so at least that's something.
To focus on the positives, first and foremost, the actual job they did was fantastic. The tub I was refinishing was kind of a disgusting nightmare and it really looks better than new now, and it was all done in basically a day. They also did a fine job re-caulking around it. I had a very good experience with both the person who did the estimate, and the one who did the actual work. They were very professional and provided excellent communication. I would happily use them again and encourage others to do so. It is possible that there are people out there that may be cheaper, but
Nashville Bathtub Refinishers Provider Name Locked
was reasonable and most importantly, did a great job.

When we bought our 50+ year old home, we knew we liked the vintage tiling in the main bathroom, but we weren't sure what to do about the etching, staining and scratching on the bathtub. Removing the tub would have been a huge hassle that would damage/remove the tiling we liked, so we contacted
Nashville Bathtub Refinishers Provider Name Locked
about refinishing it. He was prompt, professional, fast and thorough. The tub (and the sink, which we wound up also having him do while he was here) literally looks brand new.

Nashville Bathtub Refinishers Provider Name Locked
is a class act. He had glazed my vintage refrigerator in past so of course called him for this job. Came out very quickly to give a free quote and when I accepted quote, he went on and did the work then. Very professional and arrived right when he said he would, which is a nice change from most (sadly) in the home improvement arena who you are lucky if they show up at all or even return a call. Will call him for all future projects...A+++

They came out first and showed me the paint samples they had; I didn't like the colors, so I told them I wasn't interested in having the countertop painted. After they left, i called back and asked if they would give me an estimate to paint just the sinks. They called me back and said that because of the work and time involved, it would be the same price as the whole countertop. I declined. They were very nice and professional and have since called and asked if they can ever be of service, to just call.

I hired him to refinish the tub and tile in my guest bathroom. It took him about two and a half days total to complete the job. He was mindful of my animals and kept them out of the area. The price was great. He did a good job overall. There were a few small places that don't quite match the rest of the tile. Also he got some of his

product on my vanity which I can't get off. But it is not noticeable. No job will be perfect and I like supporting local companies. I will hire him again to redfish my master bath when the time comes.

We purchased an investment property and needed to have the cabinets refaced and the fiberglass tubs refinished prior to renting it. We contacted Bill at
Nashville Bathtub Refinishers Provider Name Locked
and set up an appointment for the day we closed on the property. He was on time and had a nice selection of cabinet surfaces to choose from. We got estimates from a couple of other providers, and Bill definitely had the largest selection of samples. He did a nice job of explaining the refacing process. He also gave us a bid on refinishing two fiberglass tubs that were in good shape, but their surface was dull and rough. We subsequently ended up asking him to also refinish the bathroom sinks. We chose him because we liked the idea of using one person to do the cabinets and the tubs, and his price was competitive. At the time he was offering a 10% discount if you mentioned his website. He was cheerful about giving us the discount. We paid half the cost of the job when he ordered the cabinets, and the other half at the end of the job.
Bill had told us it would take about 2&1/2 weeks for the cabinet materials to arrive and 2 days to install them. In the interim he completed the bathroom work. The cabinet materials arrived on time, and he promptly set up an install date. As promised, they were installed in two days. We purchased the knobs, and he put those on at no additional charge. At the end of the job I noticed that one of the cabinet surfaces was chipped. Bill agreed to order another piece to replace the chipped one. It took about a week to get that in and install it.
We're very happy with the way the cabinets look. Refacing is a cost effective way to give your kitchen a face lift without the expense of installing new cabinets. We would use
Nashville Bathtub Refinishers Provider Name Locked
again for cabinet refacing. My only complaint was I wish he had done a better job of cleaning up after he finished. Each time he left we had to vacuum the kitchen and clean out the sink.
We were not as happy with the tub/sink refinishing. We expected a smooth surface, but there are small bumps that are very noticeable when running your hand across the surface. we've had tub refinishing done in the past by another provider, and the quality was better. In hindsight, we would have used
Nashville Bathtub Refinishers Provider Name Locked
for the cabinet refacing but not the tub refinishing.
