Minneapolis Window Installers Reviews

"Unprofessional, pushy, and full of half-truths and
Minneapolis Window Installers Provider Name Locked
. Wanted to charge an astronomical amount for low quality windows and used very deceitful tactics to get us to sign up for their service.
Never, ever go with a company that will not give ALL the time oyu need to consider their offer. It was plainly obvious they didn't want us to have an opportunity to get estimates from any other company. Once we did, we realized they wanted to charge us more than 2-3 times as much as the LOWEST bid from other companies.
The person giving us an estimate didn't even see the windows he was bidding on, let alone measure them.

"We contacted
Minneapolis Window Installers Provider Name Locked
about possibly needing new roof. They reviewed our roof, indicated we needed a new roof and siding due to hail damage. Because we were doing both those major items, we decided to also order 13 new windows, specifically because we were having the siding done at the same time and could put in NEW CONSTRUCTION windows, not replacement inserts. Two representatives from the company came to our house to measure the windows. We repeatedly stated the ONLY reason were replacing all the windows is because we wanted NEW CONSTRUCTION windows and could do at the same time as the siding was also being replaced as to not damage the siding. We repeated stated we did NOT want replacement inserts. They indicated they were clear on this during our meeting. It took 3 weeks for the windows to be delivered.
The roofing team came out and completed our re-roof in 2 days - they were quick and completed quality work. The siding crew came, ripped off the siding on our house and then Window team came and started replacing our windows. They screwed up the windows: They were INSERT replacements - NOT the NEW CONSTRUCTION windows were repeatedly said we wanted. Additionally, 2 windows were wrong (they put the wrong finishing put on the wrong sized windows).
My husband called the representative from the company who had come to our house & taken the order, only to have him try to convince us why we wanted replacement inserts (even though we'd already told him at our house that we'd done the research & wanted NEW, not replacement inserts). The representative was less than customer-focused, arguing with my husband so my husband asked to talk to the owner. The owner was much more customer-focused, apologizing for the situation, offering that he could order the new windows but it would take another 3 weeks or put in the replacement inserts and provide us a discount on them since they were not what we had ordered. Based on the fact that it was the mid-of January with all our siding off our house at this point, we didn't want them to put the siding off & have to peel it back (risking damaging the brand-new siding) to put in the new windows 3 weeks later, we opted to just go with the replacement inserts but were EXTREMELY disappointed and unhappy with Window experience with
Minneapolis Window Installers Provider Name Locked
. Then we had to wait another 3+ weeks for the 2 completely wrong windows to be re-ordered & re-installed.
Finally, when we received the final bill, there were errors on it. The amount that should have been credited to us for error in the windows was added as another charge, rather than a credit.

"Summary of construction experience: Completely positive! Excellent communication by all! 100% trustworthy! High Quality! I would absolutely hire Craftsman’s Choice again.
In more detail: I started looking for a contractor in March, 2013 to handle removing and replacing roof shingles, removing a chimney fireplace bump out wall, replacing some cedar siding, and removing and replacing windows. After meeting with at least 6 contractors who I found via other internet review sites I was having no luck finding a business who I felt confident in hiring. Some did not respond with quotes (SELA was one of them), some could not handle all parts of the project, one was just a terrible high-pressure sales man, and another offered a super great deal on "low end" materials along with plans to repair rotten cedar siding by just painting over the rot. This is when I decided to join Angie’s list.
After reading hundreds of reviews I called Craftsman’s Choice, spoke with Amber, and was quickly scheduled to meet with

to discuss the projects.
Minneapolis Window Installers Provider Name Locked
is a no-pressure sales guy with great remodeling ideas an loads of experience-based knowledge about building materials. He responded quickly with a quote, then
Minneapolis Window Installers Provider Name Locked
was promptly out to measure, and soon after we were making
progress on the projects.
The roof was done with GAF Woodland Designer Series shingles in the color Castlewood Gray by a roofing crew of fellows who were smiling while they were sweating through the 95+ degree weather. YOU should check out the look of these shingles – they are unique and stunning on a steep pitched roof!

windows, and installing new rough cedar siding where it was needed to match the rest of the house exterior. Aside from
Minneapolis Window Installers Provider Name Locked
’s very mediocre singing-to-the-radio skills, these are three great guys who do great work!
Minneapolis Window Installers Provider Name Locked
was the project manager on this part of the job – he was on site often, handling material needs and dealing well with project changes and conversations when house issues were discovered. After this job finished, project manager

to handle the patio door install project and the interior oak trim. Again – three more great guys who do impressive work!
Through the months of projects we did run into some unforeseeable situations; which, if you have had any experience with home projects or if you watch any home improvement TV shows, you know that construction projects can be unpredictable and sometimes things happen that turn one project into another project. Working with contractors through these types of difficult situations is how you really learn about the people you are dealing with… and this is how I learned what makes the Craftsman’s
Choice really great!
Minneapolis Window Installers Provider Name Locked
, owner, instantly involved himself in situations that required extra attention. He was consistently motivated to do what was right, to make things right, and to make sure that we were pleased with the progress and the results. I can’t say enough sincere words about
Minneapolis Window Installers Provider Name Locked
– he was truly a pleasure to work with. Also, project manager
Minneapolis Window Installers Provider Name Locked
O. was always on top of everything – he was attentive to all of the projects going on, always offering to help his team, to deliver building materials, or to haul away my own debris from unrelated interior sheetrock projects when he was in the area. These people go out of their way to take care of their customers – and you always know that they care, because they do.

"The salesperson was on time to the appointment and offered me the windows and bathroom for $12,000. After some haggling, he dropped his price by 50%, claiming that I was getting the price for "cost". He also claimed that in order to get to my windows, they would need to alter the foundation and CUT the windows out. For this extensive project, I could see the value in $3k, but that's not what I received.
After he took my deposit, he called me 6 weeks later stating that they couldn't install the windows I requested but they would give me an alternative, at no additional cost. Ok, fine.
When the installer showed up to put in the windows, he did an okay job. 5/6 windows were satisfactory, the last was screwed in funny and won't open. Also, THERE WAS NO STRUCTURAL WORK DONE! They did not have to cut ANYTHING and they just popped the windows right in! I could have an should have had someone else do the work, but because he made it out to be so laborious, I paid the piper! The windows still didn't look quite right when installed, so they bought some cheap trim and GLUED them into the frame.
Afterwards, I tried to reach the salesman to ask for a solution to which he responded that I must have misunderstood and basically told me so what?! To make matters worse, when I sent an email requesting an additional receipt be sent to me, the salesman responded that he already had and then BLOCKED me from emailing him further.
I was in no way rude to anyone in that company, but they came and took advantage of me! I guess I should have saw the first sign when he was trying to rip me off with the inflated original price, which he cut down by half.
I would NOT recommend doing business with this company....ever. They are only nice when taking your money

"The salesperson had an extremely, unprofessional, "hard-sell" approach. Most notably, he wanted me to sign on immediately, stating, "I'll be perfectly honest with you, if I see two more windows, I meet my quota and will get a bonus. But I need to sell to you today for it to count." He repeated this "bonus" plea many times. In addition, when I mentioned that another company did provide a service that
Minneapolis Window Installers Provider Name Locked
did not, he said, "if you like ___________ (name of company), why don't you just go with them? Their prices were good (though I found another company to match them- Window Concepts, but the gimmicky approach seemed sleezy and did not promote confidence in the company.

was awesome. We were about to put our house on the

when a storm caused major damage.
Minneapolis Window Installers Provider Name Locked
was extremely responsive and was very helpful working with insurance. We interviewed a lot of general contractors for this job.
Minneapolis Window Installers Provider Name Locked
was by FAR the most profession, the most reasonable and the most responsive. We were so fortunate to find him. We would hire him again in a heartbeat. don't look any further if you have found these guys.

"Despite being extremely busy with other customers and having some trouble with his (and my other) subcontractors at various times,
Minneapolis Window Installers Provider Name Locked
completed all the work and was a pleasure to work with during a very hectic and stressful time.
I was pushing hard to get LOTS of stuff done on these properties in a very short period of time. I was working with 3-6 different contractors at one time on three different job sites. And I have high expectations. DId everything go completely smoothly? No. When does it ever? Was
Minneapolis Window Installers Provider Name Locked
good-natured, professional, and someone you can trust to do a good job and deliver on what he says he can and will do? Yes. Without a doubt.
I would say his specialty is larger projects (vs. a punch list of little handyman tasks), remodeling and construction and window installations. He's a rockstar when it comes to window installations at a reasonable price.
He communicates well, which is not always the case with contractors. He takes pride in his work, which is not always easy to find. And he's a not only a good contractor, he's a good guy.

"It went great.
Minneapolis Window Installers Provider Name Locked
was very flexible in meeting our schedule to come by for estimates and during the repairs. He talked through the estimate at each location and what would be done. He also let us know that the estimates he gave tended to be for 'worst case' and if not as much work needed to be done the price would come down. In our case many of the locations needed less work and
Minneapolis Window Installers Provider Name Locked
reduced that price.
Minneapolis Window Installers Provider Name Locked
made it clear that he would do the whole estimated job or any part of it. Even one window if that's what fit our budget. He said he could always do the rest when we wanted.
We would definately recommend using this service and will be our only call if future repairs are needed.

"The windows are unusual. It wasnt until after the work was complete that we fully realized the window functionality (they drop down into the wall). Once we determined the full functionality, a little re-work was required by Mr.
Minneapolis Window Installers Provider Name Locked
. Without complaint, and without additional charge, he came right out and made the necessary changes.

On Mr.
Minneapolis Window Installers Provider Name Locked
's initial visit, my spouse (being new to radiator heating) broke a radiator; water was everywhere. Mr.
Minneapolis Window Installers Provider Name Locked
helped my spouse to stop the water and find suitable assistance. Again, Mr.
Minneapolis Window Installers Provider Name Locked
did this at no charge.

We are very happy with the work provided by the Handiman Can. We will definitely use his services in the future.

"I visited Champions showroom in New Hope MN. Doing this was important because I knew very little about windows. I had some windows replaced in another city and I did not like th experience.
The person who gave me the showroom tour was also my sales person. He was always punctual for appointments and very knowledgeable about windows. It was his professionalism that really won me over. I received two other bids which were cheaper than Champion. I felt so comfortable with their service and warranty and commitment to their product that I chose them.
The installation went very well. It was performed over two days (one for each side of the duplex).
There were three minor negatives in this experience:

1. The installer called me the day before to install the windows. They knew this was a rental and that I needed to give the tenants at least 24 hours notice. Thankfully there were no issues but more time should have been given.
2. Instead of mailing the receipts to me, they left them at the rental. I had told my salesperson to send all materials to my home.
3. After signing the contract and paying the deposit with my credit card, I made it clear to my salesman that I would be paying the final portion of the bill with my credit card. This was not relayed to the team which left the job with the expectation that I would be paying right then and in a different manner. This was corrected 30 days later.
I would highly recommend Champion Windows.
