Window Replacement reviews in Minneapolis

Wanted to get a window replaced using a coupon I had. Called to schedule an appointment, but they wouldn't show up without my wife there, she travels a lot and has zero interest in windows. They said that's policy and there's nothing they could do. Sounds like a scam to be able to try and upsell windows or warranties to which ever of the parties will listen to them. I can buy everything else for my house on my own why would I need my wife there for a window, ridiculous.

Minneapolis Window Installers Provider Name Locked
was just fantastic. Extremely polite and professional. One of the nicest people and one of the best contractors I have ever had the privilege of working with.
Minneapolis Window Installers Provider Name Locked
responded quickly to my request for a quote. I He provided the estimate quickly which was something I really appreciated and also gave me a discount for having my windows already cleaned and prepped and previous storms removed.
Overall the quote was just below the other quotes I received and the communication I received through the entire process was unmatched.
Minneapolis Window Installers Provider Name Locked
was great about coming promptly to measure and order the windows and even called allied to get our windows made quicker before others since we had no storms on the windows.
The week that
Minneapolis Window Installers Provider Name Locked
said they would be available was precise and he was able to install them that same week which was excellent for us so that we could finally open our windows and take advantage of the cooler breeze and reduce the use of our air conditioners. Installation was done in over 2 days and everything turned out exceptional. There was an issue with the porch storm windows opening which was found just after I gave
Minneapolis Window Installers Provider Name Locked
a check for the completed work. What impressed me the most was that
Minneapolis Window Installers Provider Name Locked
instantly gave me back the check and said he would ensure they would be fixed before accepting payment. Even if that meant the windows would have to be returned and reinstalled. The good news is that they only needed adjusting. Our home is 100 years old and each window is slightly off and with a little adjusting all windows opened up for screen installation.
Overall I am very happy and would recommend

Prior to work being done:
We searched around for quotes and were very conflicted on whether to get replacement windows or to attempt to restore the original windows in our 1922 house, along with replacing the hanging storms with modern ones so they would function for us.
I spoke with
Minneapolis Window Installers Provider Name Locked
and he gave me all the information over the phone on what his services cost without any annoying sales tactics. He is easy to reach and always answers the phone and email. He was willing to come out to the house once we thought we would likely have him do the work. It was a relief that
Minneapolis Window Installers Provider Name Locked
actually understood how windows were built in that time, and that hanging storms were the norm, after meeting with window salesmen who didn't understand what hanging storms even were. He met with us and looked over the issues with our windows and seemed very comfortable with being able to restore them despite some windows being very difficult to open, having the top sashes painted shut, etc. He was the only window company that we met with that was even remotely entertaining the idea of saving the original windows in the house, which appealed to us.

He does all of the work himself for the new vinyl track retrofit install, which is great because he is very experienced and knowledgeable. The downside is that he's in demand, for good reason. Plan to schedule your appointment months before you want the work done. It's worth the wait.
Since we also had exterior storm windows installed, this work could be done prior to the track restoration. The storm window install was done by his assistant

, not
Minneapolis Window Installers Provider Name Locked
. The work done here was also very good, but scheduling was more of a "depending on availability" scenario. After the storm window work was completed, we were thrilled.
Minneapolis Window Installers Provider Name Locked
also stopped over the same night of the install and I pointed out some issues that he knew he would have to come back to address. We were told that this would be done the next day, but was delayed slightly. We were later told why the delay happened.
After looking over the work for a day, we noticed some of the 2x4s were straight to the window frame, but not level to the house, which looked off. I anticipated some sort of argument to have to issue fixed, but
Minneapolis Window Installers Provider Name Locked
agreed and made absolutely sure we were satisfied with all the work before he called the job "done." I cannot say how nice this was that he didn't even ask for any money before we signed off on everything. There was a list of little fixes/touchups that we left and every item on the list was taken care of without issue. We plan on repainting the windows now that they can tilt in, which we expected due to their condition.

Final product:
The original windows in our 1922 house now work great, and function like modern windows. To get modern wood windows with an identical look/style would have been astronomically expensive compared to restoration. Even vinyl replacements would have cost twice as much. Our windows function great, the character of the house is maintained, and we have a useable porch. All for way less expense compared to full replacement. Thanks
Minneapolis Window Installers Provider Name Locked

I met
Minneapolis Window Installers Provider Name Locked
when he gave a talk to the community education program about maintaining and preserving old windows. I could tell he cared about old windows, and knew he was the man I wanted when it
Minneapolis Window Installers Provider Name Locked
time to restore ours.
Minneapolis Window Installers Provider Name Locked
himself came and measured and gave an estimate. During the next 3 weeks, his team did prep work in the shop. Then the crew (which included
Minneapolis Window Installers Provider Name Locked
's brother-in-law and son) showed up exactly on time. The were very respectful of our home, taking their shoes off on the front porch and covering all the floors with tarps and the furniture with painter's plastic, carefully removing window shades. They quickly removed the original windows, then part of the team took them back to their shop to place the new jamb liners while the rest of the team continued to prepare the window jambs. Once the windows with new jamb liners came back from the shop, they went into place quickly. We now have the look of the original windows with the benefits of modern windows.

My husband is a retired architect and is very discerning regarding details. As a test, we had four
Minneapolis Window Installers Provider Name Locked
Renewal windows installed in our house last Fall. It was such a good experience, and the quality of the windows is so high, that we decided to replace all of our other old windows with
Minneapolis Window Installers Provider Name Locked
. The most recent work was installed on May 20, 2014. The windows have transformed our house, both from the exterior as well as the interior… we love the windows! The window(s) in every room are different and custom for that particular room and application: awning, casement, fixed, white interior, oak interior, off-white interior, clear vision panel, obscure/translucent panel for a bathroom, etc.. We are so impressed that every window is custom for that particular window's mission. Everything about the window product is high quality.
Everyone we have encountered at Renweal by
Minneapolis Window Installers Provider Name Locked
has been very professional: the salesman, the measurer, the third party asbestos investigation person, the scheduler, and especially the two installers!! The job was scheduled for May 20 about two weeks prior to that date. Despite rain and other things that might cause other contractors to renege on a schedule, the
Minneapolis Window Installers Provider Name Locked
team came on the day they said they would and did the entire job in one very long day for the installers. They are top notch!!

A neighbor recommended
Minneapolis Window Installers Provider Name Locked
to do the repair work, in addition to the local hardware store. I knew it was going to require custom work but wow was it expensive!! They were very prompt and scheduled us quickly (in a few days after quickly stopping by to take a look at it) and it looks great. I didn't have much of a reference for how much it would cost or who could do the work.

Everything went well,
Minneapolis Window Installers Provider Name Locked
really knows how to restore windows well. He is very skilled and communicates information very well. He is friendly, prompt, courteous and honest. The price he charges for his service is very reasonable. We are very happy with our windows, they are much tighter now and open smoothly, which was always a pain before
Minneapolis Window Installers Provider Name Locked
worked on them.

First of all, this project is ongoing. In fairness to
Minneapolis Window Installers Provider Name Locked
we will update this review upon completion of this project.
We had a prior relationship with
Minneapolis Window Installers Provider Name Locked
. In 2011 they replaced 3 windows for us. While they were not cheap, the windows were quality and the installation went well. The windows went up and down smoothly, and we were very satisfied. Because of this, when we decided to replace 10 windows in our house we called
Minneapolis Window Installers Provider Name Locked
directly without getting any competitive quotes.
After we signed the contract a technician came out to do the final measuring, and he discovered a small discrepancy in our order. We ordered all our windows to have oak veneer rather than vinyl, and one of the windows showed vinyl. Of course there was a price increase. We would have ordered the windows anyway as we were spending $16K and this was a couple hundred dollars difference, but our salesman would not compromise on the price. Yes it was a mistake but it was not our mistake.
Now, the windows. When the installers were done, they pointed out that one of the windows had a wiggly sash and they would take care of ordering a replacement. They also said we should not be concerned with how tight the windows were. When I say tight, I mean difficult to move up and down. They said when the windows "settled" they would loosen up and become easier to open/close.
When we started staining the windows, one of them was so tight that it was scraping the sides of the lower window. Not only that but the handle on this window wiggled. When we went to tighten the screws ourselves we found the screws were stripped. The same thing happened on another window. So immediately 3 of our 10 windows had issues. Admittedly the stripped screws on the handles were minor issues but there should have been NO issues at all.
We waited 4 weeks for the replacement sash without hearing from
Minneapolis Window Installers Provider Name Locked
. After we inquired about it, it was there the next day. When the technician came to install the sash I asked him to look at window that was scraping itself and he determined it was shimmed too tightly and needed to be totally replaced. So, it was ordered 5 weeks ago and no word from
Minneapolis Window Installers Provider Name Locked
. I sent
Minneapolis Window Installers Provider Name Locked
an email this morning and
Minneapolis Window Installers Provider Name Locked
and behold, again it will be in tomorrow.
Suggestions for
Minneapolis Window Installers Provider Name Locked
- keep customers informed about potential delivery dates. 2 times after we inquired about the status of our orders "they will come in tomorrow". When the technician ordered the replacement window I asked him if it would be another 4 weeks and he said it shouldn't take that long as we are existing customers and they had the measurements. Ironic that he said that because as of today it has been 5 weeks.
I will update this review and "grades" when the project is complete. As of now we are totally unsatisfied customers.

I wanted a new front door that would still fit in with my 1909 house. I realized this would be spendy, but wanted something that looked really nice. I looked at a few brands, and
Minneapolis Window Installers Provider Name Locked
is really the only one that seemed decent enough to use. Setup an appointment for an estimate online, the rep showed up exactly on time with samples, etc that allowed me to purchase right on the spot. Got a discount for not financing, and another discount for fully prepaying.
On install day, they arrived again exactly on time, removed the old door taking great care not to damage any woodwork or walls that were being re-used. Being that it was a 100+ year old door being replaced, I think they had to jump through a few unexpected hoops, but in the end everything looks great, and the archiceture series door is well worth the preimum price. If you're looking for a premium door, then
Minneapolis Window Installers Provider Name Locked
is hands down the way to go. If you're looking for a cheap replacement, there are probably better options, but for premium options, I can't really think of any other way to go!

In January a window in our kitchen cracked in two places (me trying to melt the ice with a hair dryer on a setting that was clearly too hot). The inside pane of our insulated window cracked in two places. I was able to put tape over it to prevent too much condensation from forming, then found this company on Angie's List. I was contacted quickly. I was told that depending on how the glass was in there they may not be able to just replace the glass because when they go to take it out the wood frame splits. I took pictures to send him and he promptly replied that it looked like it would be fine and he could just replace the glass.
Someone then came out to get measurements. During this visit he told me that the vinyl frame outside was falling apart when he tried to take it off. We would need to replace this but he had to find one first. He contacted me a few weeks later saying he had found a company that had one. We scheduled a time for someone to come out- the day they did it was too cold and the window wasn't going to move easily. They came back a week later and completed the work quickly and it looks great! I would definitely call this company again for any window needs we had. They did whatever they could too help us fix our window including searching for a piece that was not readily available.
