Roofing reviews in Minneapolis

I have had persistent leaking from ice dams for the past 3 years since I purchased the house. It had a new roof, so we sealed up the attic and blew in more insulation. Didn't help. He came out to see our situation and make a bid. I expected it might cost us several hundred dollars if not thousands to redo the soffit vents and/or add ridge vents to get better ventilation through our attic. When he came he said "let's get up on the roof and take a look." Instead, on his first trip he pulled out his ladder, got up on the roof with a couple of tubes of sealant and proceeded to seal the shingles along the valley where the leaking occurred. He said that sealing the shingles, in his experience, almost always solves the leaking problem. As he left, to my amazement, he said "no charge." I will send him something anyway. Hopefully, that will solve our problem. if not, back to plan B next year.

I received a couple of quick phone call quotes from different contractors who never went to the place of residence. As there was water intrusion from the outside, I suspected there may be additional damage that I need to be made aware of, learning how water intrusion actually occurred and what will go into the cost of fixing it. The prices over the phone were less expensive but left me with an impression that they did not want to take on a job and the chances of them only quoting a patio door install felt very likely. As this was my first house and one of the things that I need to address as a homeowner, I needed to find someone who will do the job and not try to sell me their patio doors.
I called
Minneapolis Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
and he agreed to take a look at what it will take and not quote me a number on the phone. This was a good news because I bought patio doors from Menards, and I was not sure if it was the right size. He took a look and felt that the moisture inside the house, the condensation against the glass, and not providing proper insulation resulted in the patio door failure. Additionally it looked like my previous patio doors were custom sized by the dealer and he explained they do this to cut down costs. My patio doors that I bought from Menards was standard size and my previous were about an inch wider. This left me slightly disappointed in myself for not sizing things up correctly. Even though the patio doors were smaller, he still could make them work. I mentioned to
Minneapolis Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
that I could still return the patio doors and get the proper sized ones.
Minneapolis Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
told me that I couldn't return the patio doors since they were special order. I looked my receipt and there was a 25% restocking fee I would take a hit on. For $400.00 patio doors, renting a trailer and the probability of an additional cost to order them the right size, I probably will only save $200.00. I didn't feel it was worth it because once I decide to replace all my windows (side note, I had trouble finding contractors because patio doors counts as windows - I found that out from

), I probably need to get another patio door anyways. It's easier to find a standard size patio door or remove he previous woodwork.

totaled everything up, he provided a rough estimate to which I pressed for more something that is more accurate as I explained I did not want something that would end up costing considerably more than the estimate.
Minneapolis Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
was a little bit hesitant but decided obliged to my request at $1,200. He also provided me a rough timetable when his crew can do the install. I again asked for something a little bit more concrete but he couldn't oblige at that moment. I told him if he could when he looked at the schedule to let me know because I'd like a firm date and he could send me over the contract he wanted me to sign.
Minneapolis Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
later sent me a contract where I would need to put down 25% before the start of the job but he did not provide a more solid start date. I felt 25% was excessive for a job where I could not be provided a firm start date and I would have preferred put that money down once he provided me a firm date whenever that may be. I talked to
Minneapolis Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
over this issue of me putting that amount down for a job that has not started without a firm date. He disagreed with my take on it because he felt this is how contractors handle business (which is not been my experience with other contractors at my house thus far). I offered 25% when he can provide me a firm start date but he refused and countered with 10% down now but no firm start date. I was hesitant because I like certainty but I accepted it.
A week rolls by and I receive a phone call from
Minneapolis Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
who told me that they have room the following Friday for an install. This provided me relief because
Minneapolis Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
was accurate on his estimated timetable. A week goes back and the crew arrives at my house to put in the patio doors and my wife was home to watch over the house, answer any questions and relay any questions to me. According to my wife, one of the installers was hesitant to properly strip away the rotted wood. The guy who supervised initially agreed with the installer but my wife disagreed. My wife and I spent a lot of time looking at rotted wood to identify concerns and become more educated in spotting trouble. When she asked and initially rebuffed, she went over there and started easily pealing away the rotted wood to prove that it is worse than it actually is rotted and be taken care of. The supervisor then agreed with her assessment and told him to repair the wood. She also noticed the drywall problem and needed my opinion. I left work and when I arrived

arrived around noon as well to check and see how the install was going.

spotted a couple of issues and the installers took care of it. After I looked at the drywall, I didn't think it was a problem and

agreed. I am glad my wife was there to notice the rotted wood since that was on top of our list of reasons for the repair, I am however a little bit disappointed that my wife had to take the initiative to show it was rotten and needed to be replaced. I imagine other people might accidentally look over it. I would have demonstrated that the rotted wood is not a problem if it really wasn't.
After all said and done, the ending price was $1275 which was more than reasonable. They fixed the sub-flooring and we now have more time to properly take care of our hardwood floors. That will be my project next year. Their overall work, finish and knowledge of the project at hand is exceptional. I think their craftsmanship is top notch and I may hire them again for the next project. It was a pleasure.

Everything was super. I really needed the space but was very attached to my porch.
Minneapolis Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
was able to come up with a design with lots of windows that gives me a space that is both usable as part of my previously very small living room and provides the air flow and light of my porch (almost). And they were able to do it within my budget for the project. I needed to stay in my house during the construction and they did everything they could to make that as comfortable as possible. The only problem was me - it was hard to live in because this is a very small house. The normal delays in the stages of construction were stressful to me, and
Minneapolis Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
, the project manager, was very patient and did a great job of explaining and reassuring me throughout. All the workers were pleasant and careful, especially considering that they had to get electricity from inside my kitchen. I asked for a couple of changes - a small deck at the top the outside stairs and an extra window, which they were able to incorporate. The result is everything I could hope for - open, airy and consistent with the style of the house. It is a beautiful space. I can't say enough good things about

He arrived right at the 9:00 appointment time.
He saw what was necessary, but instead of giving me a time that he'd get back to me, he got out a ladder and fixed it on the spot. He said he saw another area that looked fine from the ground but would have been a problem later, so he took care of that too.
It all took perhaps ten minutes. Done well, with a smile, at a fraction of what I was prepared for what it might be. Excellent!

The service went well. We told them that we were experiencing issues with the roof and knew it had to be replaced. They were four weeks out at the time and we were willing to wait considering the reputation and warranty offered by them. While waiting for our project to start the roof began to leak. They were able to bump us up a few weeks to get the roof on earlier to avoid any more potential damage to our units. We were thankful that they did that. I have been in real estate for 30 years and along the way have used the services of many different companies. I found snap to be responsive and attentive to my renters. The clean up was great and overall the roof looks great. I have a few other projects coming up that I look forward to trying them out on and will report back

We were very happy with the work done by
Minneapolis Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
and his team. The siding looks great -- very nicely installed, made to match the style of the rest of the house (cedar siding), and painted. With the drywall, it's not even possible to tell where it used to be damaged, it was fixed so perfectly.
Minneapolis Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
was easy to work with and helpful and honest. Everything took place on schedule. The other people he had working with him were friendly and professional too. They cleaned up perfectly afterwards as well. The price was very fair.
I've talked with
Minneapolis Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
about a couple other projects and he's been helpful and honest enough to tell me what not to waste money on as well as what could work.

The sales person was professional and the crew doing the work did a good job. I was getting my roof replaced due to hail damage. When they took off the old roof, they determined I needed $3k work of decking. My contact told me because it was needed to get up to code, insurance should cover it. If not, I was to get a bill. A month later a

showed up at my door with a

for my house. Instead of sending me a bill they put in a

. I have never paid a bill late in my life. I had even left a message for my sales contact asking if they had everything they needed. I found out from my insurance company they had sent them the check and
Minneapolis Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
had returned it.
They tacked thousands in extra fees. I brought this to an attorney who verified I did everything I was supposed to and there was very shady dealings on behalf of

. Beware.

I called to get an estimate to fix a hole in my roof. After a day or two, no call back. I called again. The person on the phone said they would take a look at it on a specific day and give me an estimate. I did not receive a call, so I called them. They said they would get back to me. It has been about 2 weeks now and no call.
Unfortunately this is the response I get more often than not from contractors on Angie's List. Maybe my small projects are low priority for these contractors. If that is the case, please state this on your profile page, and I won't waste my time contacting your company.

Shingles were replaced in a hurry and apparently with little or no supervision. The crew did not speak english and just left with no attempt to show me what they had done. In the morning it became apparent that the roof did not look smooth with lots of undulations on it. The gutter has been put back partially and on several areas it had been dented due to being stepped on.
My repeated calls and messages went nowhere. The only returned calls were from salesperson who promised that someone would contact me soon (no one did). In the summer apparently some had come to push the gutter on one side to its place with no success and left and sent me a note later that as far they are concerned the problem has been addressed!

went very well. I left out of town after the roofers de shingled the roof and neighbors stated they were done at noon. Granted I have a small house but still that is pretty fast. Would use them again, BUT hopefully I want have to. (meaning the roof will last)
