COMPLAINT: Albert Whitcomb, Stillwater, Minn.

"I hired Two Men and a Truck of Edina to move my furniture from Oakdale to Baytown, a distance of seven-and-a-half miles.

"The workers arrived an hour late. They wrestled with some of the furniture and banged into walls. We reminded them that several of these things were irreplaceable antique family heirlooms. At least 15 items sustained damage".

DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I would like to be compensated $250 for the damage to these items."

RESPONSE: Steve Black, customer service manager, Two Men and a Truck

"I met with the member to assess the damage. It all appeared to be superficial scratches or scuffs. I hired a furniture repair expert and he determined some damages most likely happened during the move, so he repaired those items on the spot.

"He did not repair other items because he determined they were either pre-existing damages or were so minor they didn't distinguish themselves from normal wear and didn't affect the structural integrity, value or usefulness of the item.

"As far as I know, the member was satisfied. I feel we have acted fairly and responsibly to the damage claim, so I do not feel additional compensation is necessary."
