Masonry reviews in Minneapolis

Minneapolis Masonry Contractors Provider Name Locked
is fantastic. He is polite, communicative and prompt. His work is great and I will have him doing some other rebuilding work for me in the future.

We couldn't be more pleased with the result of fine work done by
Minneapolis Masonry Contractors Provider Name Locked
and his capable assistants!
Minneapolis Masonry Contractors Provider Name Locked
was professional from first contact to the end of the job. He responded quickly to our request for an estimate, then kept in touch about scheduling--both with us and with our roofers, who would be coming in shortly after his work was complete. He showed up when he said he would, and completed the work on time.
Throughout the process, he was directly involved. His selection of new brick to match our old brick was right on, and when I got nervous about the first chimney being too light in color, he patiently reassured me that it was because he hadn't completed the acid-washing part of the process yet. When that was complete, the brick looked great! On the second chimney, which was to be a roof-up extension of a full chimney (ground up), he offered to reuse the old brick (which was still in great shape) instead of new so that the match would be exact. This involved cleaning the mortar off the old brick in order to secure it with new mortar--more time-consuming than using new brick.
So, we have two beautifully rebuilt chimneys, which do not look like they are new. All mortar joints are even and there is no line of demarcation between old and new sections. I looked at a LOT of rebuilt chimneys before we chose

, and nowhere did I see the quality of craftsmanship that we experienced.
One final comment: when
Minneapolis Masonry Contractors Provider Name Locked
first bid our job, he wrote: "I would love to help in keeping your house beautiful." That care was demonstrated throughout the project and beyond, as he took the time while he was working on the chimneys to survey the house for other spots that are in need of

pointing, and offered a reasonable estimate to do that work as well.

Super fast and it turned out nicely. They were on site full-days for about 2 days, then on and off for 2 more (pouring the steps, mounting the stone tops on the new buttresses, etc - didn't require full days). He had 4-5 people working on certain parts of the project overall. Great job though. It's such an upgrade!

Shears and his son repaired an area of deteriorating brickwork on the front of our house. One challenge of the project was blending the existing bricks with the new restoration. The work was thoroughly explained each day and the results look great; they were professional, friendly, and courteous. The work area was kept clean throughout the project.
Minneapolis Masonry Contractors Provider Name Locked
treated us as though we were neighbors and not just clients. We would definitely hire them again.

Minneapolis Masonry Contractors Provider Name Locked
rudely told me to go find someone else, then hung up on me. don't waste your time with these people.

Last fall we discussed two masonry tasks and
Minneapolis Masonry Contractors Provider Name Locked
gave me a bid for one of them. It was almost three times higher than the next bid. So I did not hire him. This month I called for an estimate on the other task. He agreed to give me the estimate. I called today to ask about the estimate. He said, " you passed me up last year. Go find someone else."

I'm stunned by his rude and unprofessional comment and behavior. Avoid this contractor.
- Tim C.

Minneapolis Masonry Contractors Provider Name Locked
called ahead of time to let me know when he would arrive. He got right to work and completed the job in about 4 1/2 hours.
We were pleased with the work.
Only question I have is: Why did I have to pay $49 for an estimate that any other company would provide at no cost?
I don't know who got the $49 but it doesn't seem fair.

Got a few bids for this job, and went with
Minneapolis Masonry Contractors Provider Name Locked
Minneapolis Masonry Contractors Provider Name Locked
, the owner, was able to start the job a week ahead of schedule due to a cancellation. The work was also completed slightly ahead of schedule.
The foundation work involved patching and refinishing the exterior surface of one wall of the foundation. It turned out looking like new.
On the front steps,
Minneapolis Masonry Contractors Provider Name Locked
removed all of the tread stones, removed and replaced the damaged riser stones, and put everything back together. Looks great and the steps will probably outlast me.
All of the work was done outside, so there really wasn't much of a mess. The job was done quickly and
Minneapolis Masonry Contractors Provider Name Locked
is a very pleasant individual. Would recommend him to anyone and gladly hire him again if needed.
- Mike G.

I asked
Minneapolis Masonry Contractors Provider Name Locked
to give me his opinion on the construction and what it would take to fix it. It turned out it was something we could easily do and there was no work required. He did not charge me for the house call and gave me great advice.

We ended up not using Epic. We asked for an initial quote that was somewhat rushed. The more accurate quote was higher than the original quote by about 40%, and higher than the competing quote from a high-end company. We plan to obtain another quote before having the work done, but it's doubtful that Epic will be the contractor.

We first met on May 29 and discussed my yards shortcomings. I was told I'd be presented with a plan in "a couple of weeks". Nine weeks later I still had not heard from them. Their rep finally returned to present a plan mid-August and it was little more than photos of the stone that would be used to accomplish what we had discussed in May. I went into this thinking I'd get new ideas on what to do with the yard, not just what kind of stone is available. He was a great guy, but if I had paid the full price for this I would have been very frustrated.
