When I went in for a check-up, he focused on my overall health, even though I am over-weight. He didn't just focus on my weight issue, he gave proper attention to my overall well-being. He is very compassionate and caring.

I have never had to wait for my appointment. If my appointment is at 10:30, he will see me at 10:30. He is very efficient and punctual. If he has to run a test, he calls me the next morning with the results.

I have been seeing Dr.
Minneapolis Internists Provider Name Locked
for many years now, since my previous doctor at Oxboro Clinic retired. The doctor is easy to talk to and makes time to listen to his patient's concerns. I feel I have a good rapport with him and that my healthcare is in good hands.

When I was scheduling the appointment, I asked the staff for an estimate of how much an initial consultation costs with no additional tests. They said it varies based on insurance. I was very clear that I have a high deductible policy, and I was going to be paying the whole thing out of pocket. The office refused to provide an estimate of any kind. Due to difficulty in finding any other appointments with internists on short notice, I went ahead and scheduled the appointment.

I arrived at the doctor's office on time and was taken fairly quickly. It was my first time visiting Dr.

, so he asked a series of background questions etc. The doctor was very thorough asking a long series of background questions that covered a whole host of problems I had in the past, some of which had been resolved, some which were ongoing. At some point the doctor got a phone call, and he was on the phone for about 5-7 minutes.

Overall I would say the doctor was very patient and thorough in regards to the questioning and investigation. With regards to my cough, the doctor did a very thorough set of physical inspections (listening to the chest, checking nose & throat, checking for hernia, etc.). No lab tests were done. In the end, the doctor suspected that my cough was somehow related to my acid reflux. He suggested that I could see a pulmonary specialist if desired, but I declined at the time. The doctor suggested I send some prior lab test results I had to his office for further diagnosis and perhaps a follow up visit related to my high cholesterol.

I was hesitant to send any further information as I wanted to see what the cost of the visit was going to be first. When I finally got a bill in the mail a few weeks later, the amount was $320. Insurance negotiates that to a lower rate, but still the cost of the visit to me personally was $276. That is the highest bill for a doctor's visit I have ever seen when no lab tests or x-rays were involved.

With further investigation, I was able to learn that the visit was billed as a 99205 consultation code - one hour initial consultation with high complexity and thorough examination of past history. Compared to the Medicare billable limits for 99205 consult code in Minnesota, the $320 bill was more than 50% higher than the maximum limiting charges ($207.27).

While I'm not sure the visit even lasted a full 60 minutes, the doctor's effective rate was at least $5.33 per minute assuming a 60 minute visit. That means the 5-7 minute phone call the doctor took cost me at least $26-38. At those prices, I would expect the doctor to take no phone calls during my visit, or at least provide a rate adjustment for that. I have learned my lesson about watching the time when I go to see a doctor, that's for sure.

I called the billing department, was referred back to the doctor's office, and then a few days later received a call indicating the doctor would adjust the charges slightly lower. I did receive a letter from Dr.

, which summarized my visit and indicated the charges would be reduced lower. The visit summary was mostly accurate, but had one glaring error - it showed that I had some spine surgery when I never had any such surgery or procedure. Now weeks have gone by and I haven't received any bill adjustment, but I did get another reminder from billing to pay the full amount owed.

Basically when it comes to this doctor, I would say go if you have an insurance company that will pay everything. If you're like me with a high deductible plan and have to pay for the visit out of your own pocket, the prices are very very high and you won't be able to get any up front estimate of what the visit will cost you. The doctor's competence, skill, and patience are quite fine, but not so exceptional that I feel I couldn't get a comparable service elsewhere for much less. The billing practices are nauseating and not patient friendly at all.

I switched to Dr. Gad because she is also homeopathic. She is a GP, but she has got a homeopathic emphasis. She is really open to alternative treatment. Something that I like about her is that I can get in within 24 hours after I call and make an appointment. The other thing I like about her is that if the insurance company tries to cut off the medication because they

’t want to pay the bill, she is good about keeping me on with the medication.

This specialist that Dr. Borken sent me to basically said whatever happened in May was effects from a stroke that had taken place a long time ago. So my symptoms began to increase and I started feeling very fatigued. I was hospitalized again in November and it turns out all along I did have a brain tumor, which I am now undergoing treatment for.

I went there for a pain clinic and left so stressed I got shingles. They were inappropriate, racist, sexist and biased. Their staff was inappropriate. They put on a program called humor in pain that was the bluest thing I have ever seen. It was terrible and so inappropriate. It was so bad. I don't know if they have changed things since then but it was terrible. I complained about it and no one was responsive to me. I was there for 2 or 3 weeks and I did not learn anything new. I was hoping I would but it did not happen. My insurance company said I needed to go. Some of the doctors were good but overall my experience was not that great. I would never go back.
