"The deal was for putting a nice surface on our garage floor. He tested the floor and had us observe it and our floor it too wet to have this service done. I appreciate" him for not putting it down and having future problems.

-William C.

"They called every day to let us know when the crew would show up. The job was completed in 3 days. I was impressed with the entire process including grinding, sealing," sanding the observation by the crew leader to add extra color chips in the area of the expansion joints then returning to add an additional of clear coat to the floor before adding the non-slip surface. I had them caulk the perimeter at the walls and treat about 3" up the walls to prevent salt from penetrating the block walls. Their communication on the job with the customer, back to the office, and office to me was exceptional and makes all the difference to me when selecting a contractor. It looks great and will enjoy using it this winter.

From the wall street journal online:

"Etiquette and tipping experts agree that tipping a contractor and his employees isn't expected because contractors offer to do a job for you at a specific price. Any extra money they would want would be built into their bid. Also, it's a business relationship rather than one where they are performing a personal service for you like a waiter or a maid. But if the employees do extra jobs around the house, then experts say it is appropriate to tip a cash amount equivalent to the task; "tip gifts" such as cookies and drinks can count. "The key to tipping is whether or not it was outside the scope of what was normally expected," says Mark Brenner, author of "Tipping for Success!"

My opinion is that a little bit of courtesy (snacks, drinks, expression of appreciation etc.) goes a long way and upon completion of their work you feel compelled by a job well done to offer a little extra in the form of a tip - go for it, but do not feel obligated.
I agree with your choice - this is about the only product that can realistically, for a large room, be taken out and cleaned up after a flood and reused, thouhg carpet can be if you strip it into smaller pieces to carry wet, AND you have somewhere to wash and dry it - that is usually the problem. However, bear in mind it still has to be done within about 2 days or mildew/mold will grow on it, and may or may not be totally removeable. My personal preferences - mostly because their products are consistent, the joints stay snapped together, and they are not overly soft (a problem with cheap vinyls) are Pergo, Tarkett, Armstrong. Whatever you buy, be sure it can come back apart - some plank products are not made with a self-adhering contact glue in the joints that prevent you from taking it apart again, and some brands their snap design, while maybe better at preventing joint separation, cannot feasibly be unsnapped without tearing or breaking it off. Also, be sure whatever brandname and product line you choose it 100% vinyl (other than the urethane surface protective layer) - many vinyl floor products have paper or fiber cores or other water-absorbing components. Remember that, on concrete, since it wicks soil moisture through it, you till need a 6 mil vapor barrier under the flooring and positively sealed all around the edges to avoid the risk of mold growing on the underside of the vinyl.
Agreed.  If you have existing cracking in porcelain you need to know the cause first.  I don't know of any reputable contractor that would dare install tile over existing tile.  Also, any manufacturer warranties for defects would be null due to improper installation.  Did the contractor offer this solution or did you ask for it?  The mear fact that he is agreeing to or offering it tells me you need to leave this guy for someone who knows what they are talking about before he does only half the job which will have to be redone in the near future, costing you more in the long run.

I get so many calls from customers that were talked into a "cheaper" way to do something only to find the work very sub-par.  The sad part is they are out the money they spent in the first place along with the additional amount I have to charge just to undo what the first contractor did before I can do it right.  This floor could end up costing you double what it should if it's not done right.

Epoxy Flooring reviews in Minneapolis

To our horror (after the work was finished) we learned that sent out a sub-contractor to replace the sidewalk. It never occurred to us that would hire a sub to do the work. is known for their attention to detail - excellent quality workmanship. we've hired them over the past ...More 32 years to do two driveways and were thrilled with their fine quality work. Paying top price is no problem when you THINK you're getting the best.
Regarding details:
1. There is concrete splashed all over the expansion joints (no concrete ever splashed on the driveways they did).
2. The seams are plugged on the ends (don't open seams facilitate water run-off?).
3. The edges and sides of the sidewalk are rough & ragged (not true of our driveways which are very smooth & perfectly rounded).
4 Sloppy corner piece work (glob of cement is higher than the rest).
5 Did some last minute sloppy touch up the next day around the foundation that left the project looking even more sloppy.
No thanks, next time we'll hire our own "sub'contractor"!

- Babs G.

Terrible experience. DO NOT use Century at all costs ask who the sub-contractor is for all work:
1. Incompetent. Ceilings cracked 3 separate times resulting in numerous re-do's. They were ultimately fired from the job and replaced with a separate sub contractor. They were terrible at skim coating, ceilings were uneven and sloppy looking ...More even prior to cracking. They damaged wood trim and instead of replacing it with new trim, they used wood putty to fill in a 2" trim piece. 2. Inefficient and unprofessional. Crews would not show up on time and would stay until 8 o'clock at night. 3. Damage to personal property. Crews scratched coffee table and dining room table by carelessly tossing tools on furniture. 4. They do not clean up after their work. Rooms were consistently left dusty and dirty. They tracked footprints throughout the house. They use the bathroom to clean their tools and they leave a mess. 5. Security. Crew had a key to the house and they must have made a copy because after returning the key, they still were able to access the locked house. In addition, a strange lady was found in the house as she was visiting a crew member.

- Jason G.

Overall an easy process from my perspective. The project happened about a month from the quote, which was the original time table estimate. The office and crew were excellent at communicating every day and were professional and friendly. They finished about a day earlier than anticipated. The final product looks great and is a vast improvement over ...More the bare slab.
I was given a discount as the company was referred to me by my original garage builder.
- Ryan O.

I first met with from Rock Solid Floors, an affiliate company of Citadel Floor Finishing Systems, at my loft on Sunday, 9/11. I needed the concrete floors re-done and he suggested added a color to the finish, which sounded great. The price was reasonable and I was leaving town the next day so I hired him on the spot. He said ...More he wasn't comfortable doing the project without me first seeing samples of the color so I called him when I returned on 9/22 to reschedule. He said he'd stop over on 9/25 to show me the color samples. That day passed and he was a no-show; he also did not call to say he couldn't make it. I called him and left messages on 9/26, 9/28 and 10/3 and also left a message with at Citadel Floor Finishing on 9/30. Nobody returned my call. On 10/10, I left a message with the receptionist, who a week earlier said she personally told both & to return my call, telling her that I would take my business elsewhere and also report them to Angie's List. Still no response.

The most frustrating part of this is that I have no idea why they would not call me back... if was too busy or felt my job was too small, all he had to do was tell me so, but to not respond for 3 weeks straight is beyond unprofessional and I would not recommend Rock Solid Floors or Citadel Floor FInishing to anyone.
- Dawn N.

, the sales Rep, met with me in late June to discuss covering our 3 stall garage floor. provided a cost estimate and time frame when this work could be done. called me in to verify if we wanted to commence with the project and establish a date to do the work. ...More We agreed upon a date. and his crew of 3 arrived as planned. The procedure took 3 days and went as described. There were no changes to the estimated cost. We are very satisfied with the results.
- Gary A.

I had an excellent experience with them. They knew what they were doing, and they just did it for a reasonable price. They do a lot more than painting including refinishing and stuff like that.
- cindy D.

I was told someone would call me to arrange a time to see me garage, but that never happened. I guess this company has too much work!

They were prompt, friendly, efficient, and professional. I was unusually lucky to get next-day service because they had a cancellation. I was a little nervous to get the bill at the end because I had no idea what to expect, but it was very good. I'm very happy with the work. They picked up the debris at the end and took it with them. They ...More offered to sweep up the sand/dust from the cement drilling but I said it wasn't necessary. I would definitely use them again.
