"The drop off of the trailer went well. We priced out different onsite storage options and Storage on Wheels seemed to offer the best price and we liked that it was" a trailer because of where we wanted to
it into the back of our yard (other companies weren't going to be able to accommodate the location we wanted the storage unit and would have needed to take a giant truck onto our neighbors driveway). The trailer was in excellent condition and it was very easy to access the items we stored in it. We were happy with the company for 8 mos. The problems started when we needed to cancel the contract and have the trailer picked-up. We called the company and they directed us to an online form to complete to end the rental. After the form was faxed in we assumed that someone would contact us to schedule the pick up just as they had done for the drop off. Instead, a rude message was left on our answering machine saying that they were there (on our property in the middle of the afternoon) but couldn't pick up the trailer because we still had the lock on it. We live in the city and had left the lock on so that no one would take up residence in an empty trailer. Again, we thought that some one would call us to schedule the pick-up. After the voice mail, we called to schedule the pick-up, but did not get a call back. We did get another rude voice mail that they STILL couldn't get the trailer because they couldn't access the hitch to push it out of the area where we (along with the delivery person) had stored the trailer. We weren't able to move the trailer ourselves because they put a boot on it when they dropped it off. If they had scheduled a pick-up, we would have been there to move the trailer so they could have just taken it. They finally retrieved the trailer after a third attempt. We then were charged not only the pick-up fee but for another month's rent. When we called to have the extra charge removed, the manager at the location argued and provided the worst customer service I have experienced in a while. Both my husband and I talked to the manager separately. The manager said that he would not return the extra month's rent because they had to come out to our house three times and the only way we'd get the money back was if we disputed the charge to our credit card company...which we did. If they had only called to schedule a pick-up. If we or anyone we know need to have an onsite storage trailer/box, I would not recommend Storage on Wheels. The way we were treated at the end of our contract was horrible.

"The guys on each move were great! On time, professional, careful, respectful.......the list goes on. I have used them in the past (20 years ago), and their service" has only gotten better. Given all that we had then do and the large volume of items, they were incredibly careful and I've only found a few broken items. No damage to either home. The last two moves were on days in the 90's. .Would I reccomend them again? ABSO:UTELY! No service is perfect, but I must testify that
is darn close! Thanks, guys!

Hello, this is Kyle K from the Member Care Department.

Although Angie's List doesn't provide info on average or "going rates" for various projects, when members and consumers submit reviews, they have the option to include that cost of the project.

With that in mind, one way to find out a very general price range on a project is to log on to www.AngiesList.com (http://www.angieslist.com/?CID=ANS) and search for "Moving" (or any other appropriate category for your project, such as remodeling - K&B or ceramic tile), and then look at the project cost info supplied by local members and consumers.

Of course, probably the best way to get the most accurate cost information is to request multiple bids from several contractors. As the price will vary with work site considerations and individual contractors' approaches, getting multiple estimates will help provide a clearer picture of what your project will cost.

I hope this information helps!

Here are the FAQ's on San Jose rent control - and only apartments and mobilehomes being rented are covered, not storage units.

http://www.sanjoseca.gov/FAQ.aspx?QID=521

More and more people are using storage units, so costs have gone up frequently and signfiicantly in the past few years.

Pretty much you are at the mercy of the market - if the market will support it, they can raise their prices - and the cleaner, newer, and higher security ones can do that easier (but also presumably protect your stuff better). Your only recourse, for lower cost, is to go with an older, shabbier looking or non-climate controlled place, build storage at your place, dedicate more of your personal space to storage, or get rid of stuff.

I was able to find several rated providers where you can rent a storage pod. For your current need though, our Snapfix specialists would also be able to do all of the dialing for you, match you up with a top rated company and arrange to have them call you to figure out the logistics. If this sounds like something you would be interested in, please fill out the form in the link below and our Snapfix Team will take it from there!

We rented storage at this facility. We arrived to open our unit and our lock was replaced. The staff wasn't sure why and said that "maybe" we were broken into, but if we were the staff was sure we had insurance. When we asked if there were security cameras that we could use to determine if we were broken into the staff said that the cameras were more of a deterrent and that the police wouldn't like them because the cameras would not provide the best pictures. When asked why we were not called regarding the break-in the staff had no answer. We are now working to move our things out of this facility as soon as possible. We should note that the staff was rude and not helpful.

My original move date was a very cold and snowy day. I called an hour after thy were to arrive to discover their trucks would not start. They told me they would be there in an hour. They arrived three hours after I called and never called me about the delay. Sent monthly checks for $150 for storage. In May 2009 I called to set up an appointment to get some of things out of storage. I had to tell them a time so thy could be ready for me. I showed up to the address I was sending checks and thought my things were stored to find there office shut down. A person in the parking lot said they had moved out a month before. No one was answering the phone number I had for them. A business in there original location gave me their new address. I went there. Waited over 30 minutes for them to access my stored items even though they had told me they would have it ready. When I asked if I would be compensated for the hassle and not being told my items were moved, I was told it cost him money to move my items so no. Finally had my items moved on

I told my insurance company, which in turn informed them. They arrived that same day - it was New Year?s Day, actually. They started on the work immediately. The insurance company paid for the work. They kept in touch with me almost on a daily basis. I would rate them highly.

Back in November 2011 there was a break in at this PS facility and my 19886 Porsche 944S, which I had bought while stationed in Germany, had the back window smashed. According to
Milwaukee Storage Units Provider Name Locked
's records they only attempted to notify twice over a period of one year. Once the day it happened and once about 6 months later. I do not ever recall getting a message but even if they did the manager told me they do not leave details about incidents. They simply state to call them back. When I was asked why he would not leave a detailed message I was told, "That's just what they tell me to do" If I had heard a VM stating that my back window was smashed I certainly would have taken it seriously. When I asked the manager why they had only tried calling twice over the past year I got a series of excuses basically about how he's too busy and "sometimes things slip through the cracks". In the mean time I've been paying to store my Porsche for about a year now, which has been rotting in the weather this entire time. And it's pretty much totaled as of this point. However, when my card which I used to make payments on had expired and had recieved numerous phone calls with detailed messages within a couple weeks about how they are not getting paid and will auction off my car if they don't recieve payment. Again I only missed one payment because my card had expired. When I had called them to update my billing information there was no mention about the damage to my vehicle. I only found out because I stopped in today to make sure it still starts up and take it for a little spin. I will certainly be contacting a lawyer and sewing
