"We have two bathrooms in our home so remodeling this bathroom was not as much of a hardship as it would have been if there had only been one. Work proceeded as promised though it took a little longer than originally thought. Crew respectful; non-smokers; diligent. Contractor has good working/respectful relationship with Milwaukee city inspectors. I have used Sawfish Contracting for all of my private home and business remodeling jobs over the last ten years, totaling over one-half million dollars. Too bad

"The total reconstruction work was worth about $80000. Once I handed over the first insurance check, it was promised that this person would be there to start the drywall. I had to call him over a period of 2 or 3 weeks to check what was happening. He had a key and a lock, and he left the house open - anybody could have walked in and used it for whatever reason. He was dishonest about the work that he had promised to do. There is a $50 fee for every $1000 worth of work that you do. I found out after 3 months from the City of Milwaukee that he never took out permits for plumbing, electric or reconstruction, and that the person that I had signed the contract with was not even licensed as a contractor. He had fraudulently said that he was a contractor. When I met him at his office and told him about the permits, he flatly denied it. He charged me $72 per room to check the electrical but he never had an electrician there and he never took out permits. I met with him several times at my house and talked to him about what was going to happen next, and about the timeline for the work to be completed. I would have liked to be back in my house in 5 months because my insurance was only giving me $500 a month to live on, using which I could only rent a room. He promised to have the house done within 3 months. What actually ended up happening was that he had some of the walls repaired and the flooring put in, after which he stopped and I never got anything else done. When I went to my insurance company, they told me that I would have to take him to court because I had signed the contract. When I went to my mortgage holder, they sent somebody out, at my cost, to inspect the house, and they came back and said that I had to get a lawyer. He just disappeared. It has been a year and I am still living in a bedroom at somebody?s house. The whole experience has been a nightmare, and all I have is the clothes on my back. He was a big guy and would yell at me all the time - he would just intimidate me and back me into a corner. The City of Milwaukee and the State of Wisconsin are looking into the matter. The City of Milwaukee has verified that he had lied to them. The man who represents this company is a liar and a thief."

She needs to have a more detailed contract to avoid this situation. I probably would not hire her in the future. That being said, the finished product was good."
