Miami Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Reviews

"They were fast, efficient, professional, and overly-communicative, a trait you always want with any handyman; it helps to avoid mistakes. We entrusted him with our house key to perform services when my father and I were both at work throughout the week. Although it's not a necessity, it definitely made it more convenient for both of us.

"Replacing the floor went better than very well. Taking out tile is a very messy job.
Miami Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
took all the necessary preparations to contain the dust. I was prepared for the worst and I was pleasantly surprised. Every night
Miami Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
left us with a very clean construction site which was wonderful. The job in my opinion was difficult because the new tile was butting up against old thinner tile and we chose to have the cut going diagonal through the room. I was worried about having my old tile damaged, but
Miami Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
cut through the tile without any problems. He informed us about everything he came across. For example. Our old floor had a 'bump' right in the middle of the big glass sliding doors. He showed us and explained that we might have the tile go over the rail about 2 mm. I appreciated all these detailed information. There were no negative surprises and we are extremely happy with the finished result. So happy that we decided to have 2 more rooms tiled by him in January.

and
Miami Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
were very professional from day one. We had recently purchased a new home that needed to be completely renovated. We we looking for a contractor that could do it all and manage the project management.
Miami Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
was exactly what we were looking for. They came out to meet us and provided an estimate within two days. We decided to move forward and they assisted us from the design phase, to the construction, all the way through to the very last detail including furniture and window treatments. The experience was great and they followed through on all their promises.
Miami Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
and
Miami Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
worked with me through out the entire project to make sure we were on schedule and budget. When completing a large project it's important to have communication on a daily basis and it made me very comfortable and I could always reach them. Overall I can say that I am very pleased with both the quality and customer service the company has provided me. I will be using
Miami Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
for future projects and will recommend them to all my family and friends.

Miami Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
was very responsive to my emails and gave us an estimate using two photos of the bathroom that needed work. We set a date and he and
Miami Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
showed up late on the first day but did call to let me know.
Miami Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
then removed the two layers of tile and found that the cement underneath was deteriorated. He left for the day, saying he'd be back first thing the next morning to vacuum up the debris and set down new cement. He was there promptly at 8:00am the next morning.
Miami Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
decided that they should remove the cement, exposing the wood underneath.
Miami Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
then put down a new
Miami Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
of plywood and cement board to serve as a good base for the tile. He lost some time when he had to wait for
Miami Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
to bring him some supplies and, by the end of the day, had only managed to complete most of the floor work. He returned at 8:00am the next day and got busy putting in the new toilet, vanity, and finishing the flooring. He finished at 1:30pm and the bathroom looks great! We would use them again.
The original estimate was for $1050 and we ended up spending another $340 on materials for the floor.

"the first time the subcontractors arrived with the new cabinetry, they had simply painted the wood cabinets although we specified we wanted the wood to be stained. Two weeks later, they returned with mismatched pieces of wood; drawers a different color from mirror unit. Two weeks after that, in the final installation, the mirror unit did not fit correctly, was misaligned, and- instead of using new good quality wood - parts of the unit had been recycled from the original unit and simply painted over in a color that was unsuitable for a bathroom, not even close to the color we'd asked for.
The end result is that we have to have new bathroom cabinetry and mirror unit installed as they have left us with a mismatched, poorly fitted, ugly, and inferior quality installation.

Builder was one of several companies we contacted to obtain estimates for 2 bathroom remodels. He arrived on time and was very personable and professional. His estimate came in too high for our budget, although he did explain that since there can be so many variables in any job, he preferred to over estimate and then bill for less.
Miami Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
is very likable and went out of his way to help me solve a completely unrelated problem I was having with peeling paint elsewhere in the house.

"What started off as a positive experience, turned out to be a nightmare. When I first met
Miami Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
, I was impressed. He came on time, seemed easy going and knowledgeable, and delivered an estimate quickly. The original proposal received on 4/25 was for $22,850. I thought this was a fair price, so I asked
Miami Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
to add on a 2nd bathroom remodel and an installation of a new front entrance door.
Miami Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
sent the updated proposal on 4/30 for $40,560. I was surprised by the increase, and by taking out a few items I could do on my own like painting, we eventually settled on $38,000 (which included architectural plans). However, before signing the agreement we set another meeting with
Miami Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
's wife,
Miami Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
. I don't know what happened, but following the meeting I got another updated proposal from
Miami Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
for $51,740. I tried coming up with something that fit our budget with
Miami Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
for several days, but in the end I asked her to honor
Miami Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
's proposal of $38,000, which she eventually agreed to (and we signed a contract on 5/15). It was evident she was displeased with the agreement after a few days into the project, when she started adding extra charges. For example, our contract specified relocating a stack pipe in the bathroom, but she later said it would cost additional $850 for roof work (even though the exit to roof could stay the same). Our contract included adding electrical for cooktop, but she later requested an additional $230 to run the electrical over ceiling. Of course, we had no choice by to approve most of these additional costs.

Before any agreement was signed, I made it clear to
Miami Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
and
Miami Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
that I would hire a separate company to do my front and back patio. No issues were ever raised about this; however they later informed me that they also do patios and would be happy to give me a quote. On 6/10 I received their quote that was substantially higher (more than double) than another quote I already had, so I decided to stick with the original plan to have another company that specialized in patios to do the work.
On 6/9, we had a fire to our exterior electrical panel; I immediately contacted my insurance and 2 electricians to provide me a quote to fix the work, and of course asked
Miami Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
to also quote me a price from their preferred electrician. Once again,
Miami Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
's quote was the highest at $20,870 ($8,500 fire damage + $12,370 eliminating cloth wire). After receiving this quote on 6/13, we decided to hire a local electrician whose quote was 1/3rd the price to repair the fire damage.

Between 5/15 and 6/19, the architectural drawings were being prepared to be submitted to the city, and except for a couple days of work at the house, everything was pretty much at a standstill until the permit application was to be submitted. (I should also mention, that we were told Plans would be drafted and submitted within a week or two, we never expected this process to take over a month - The communication was very slow - I would advise everyone to hire an architect separately and never through the contractor).

On 6/19, while I was away on a work trip, and at the airport, I received a call from
Miami Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
and
Miami Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
around 8 pm letting me know that they did not feel comfortable working on the project if another electrician was to repair the damage from the fire. I was very surprised by this, and said I already hired the other electrician, and that they never notified me before that this would be a problem. I also said my hands were tied, as my insurance company would never pay the amount they were seeking, and that I could not afford their price. They then changed the subject, and said they did not feel comfortable that another contractor would be doing the patios, and voiced concerns about their insurance and the liability. I said this was also not a fair comment, as this was not a surprise, and something that was discussed before any agreement was signed. I also reminded them that the company that would do the patio would get a separate permit for the work, and were fully insured and licensed, and the same went for the electrician.

On 6/20 at 7:20 am I received a text from
Miami Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
, asking about lockbox code, and letting me know a contractor was at the property to pick up some tools.
Miami Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
then asked when my fiancé and I would be available to meet to finish the conversation from the night before. I replied we were available to meet in the afternoon, as my fiancé works nights and could not meet that morning. I then received a text at 9 am from
Miami Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
saying that they made the decision and would not be working on the project anymore. I was completely shocked, and asked her to provide us options of how we can move forward. From that point forward
Miami Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
turned into a very unfriendly
Miami Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
, and basically said they were done, and that they would not be returning the deposit we paid.

We paid $3,527 deposit upon acceptance to process the permits, and a $1,365 deposit for architectural plans to begin. Luckily the architect hired by
Miami Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
was a nice man, and didn't abandon the job, and we chose to continue working with him.

Between 5/15 and 6/19
Miami Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
removed a few remaining cabinets from the kitchen, removed part of the kitchen drywall, and removed tiles from the kitchen floor, and put down Durock cement board over the floor. The floor was completely uneven under the Durock, and it began to crumble a few weeks later. They did not create a flat surface under the Durock, they did not put down thin set under the Durock as required, and they did not put in enough screws to hold the Durock. We had all the Durock removed, and I offered for
Miami Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
to pick up her material.

The breach of contract and abandonment of the job by
Miami Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
has not only cost us our deposit but also several months delay and thus mortgage payments, etc. (since the house is not livable, and we're waiting to complete it in order to move in).

I recently contacted
Miami Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
to determine when they would refund us at least part of the deposit, and was met with very rude comments, and she said that we should pay them. What a joke. ...
Miami Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
seemed like a nice man, but as soon as his wife
Miami Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
got involved it was a nightmare. I would caution anyone with a budget about working with
Miami Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
. No matter what you agree to in the contract, she will figure out a way to make the profits she desires from you. And if your budget doesn't allow for it, you'll likely end up with an abandoned job like we did.

and his crew did a great job of remodeling our 13 year old Master Bathroom. The space was approximately 8' x 10' and had cracked tiles, a shower stall where the grout and tile we either falling off or loose, a small bathtub, and a wooden cabinet with double sink that was falling apart.
We asked three contractors for bids, one never responded, the other responded and came in with a bit of approximately $8k, but wanted us to go out and buy the tile, replacement cabinets, and toilet, etc. The $8k bid was given to us by a salesman for his particular company and asked us to trust him, that his crew would "take care of everything".
Miami Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
on the other hand said he would be there every day to oversee and supervise as needed, and he was true to his word. His wife provided us a sketched 3D view on her iPad of what the bathroom would probably look like when it was all said and done and the end result was very close to what we ended up with.
Miami Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
made recommendations and provided us options on tiles, toilets, cabinets, etc. We requested some modifications once the project got started and
Miami Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
and his crew were very accommodating and did not charge us extra, other than for the material he needed to complete the job. Modifications included an extra cabinet above the toilet and a quieter bathroom exhaust fan.
While things got dusty in the house during some of the reconstruction (solved for example by laying sheets across furniture and washing the sheets at the end of the day)
Miami Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
and his crew cleaned up every day and hauled away the trash.

was a pleasure to deal with. They came out to my house the same day I called for an appointment and discussed the project with us while pointing out other unforeseen issues that my husband and I did not even realize. They provided with us with a quote extremely quickly which was very impressive.

and
