They also told me that if there was anything else I needed done to let the man they send out know and he could estimate and do those jobs as well. They worked with my busy schedule and sent out a guy whose name I really wish I could remember because he was fantastic. He looked at what the job would require, completely explained to me what supplies would be needed and about how much they would cost from Lowes, then gave me an estimate. He ordered my stairs from Lowes. I paid for all supplies and he did a great job. It has been about 4 years, and the stairs function great. He also installed a set of floating shelves in my bedroom and secured a second set of attic stairs with a latch. I called him about a year ago to replace the second set of stairs because the plumber said he could not get a new water heater in the attic using the old stairs. He came out the same day and said there was no way he was going to just take my money because the stairs were sturdy. Besides, he explained, the water heater will be empty when they remove it, so it is just a hollow tube, and the new one would be empty as well when they carry it up the stairs into the attic. He said he had installed plenty of water heaters and knew what he was talking about. I was so thankful, because I was leery of the plumber and his integrity from the moment he walked into my home. I called the plumber back and told him that the stairs were fine. At that point I wish I could have let

intall the water heater, but I was under a home warrenty contract."
