"We went with AP&C because of the positive reviews on this site and because their estimate was lower than the others we had received. We were pleased with the work the carpenters did repairing rotten wood and siding on the outside of our home, but we were very disappointed with the painting. came by to get a list of the things we still wanted done or that we wanted fixed and he asked for his check so that he could "pay his guys." We gave him a list, but we never saw him again. After the fact, we noticed a lot of problems with the paint job. They did a very poor job of scraping. The cracked, peeling texture of the old paint is still visible through the new paint all over the house. As for the painting itself, the new paint was already bubbling when the paint job was only a month old. They also left a lot of paint on the windows and actually painted all of our windows shut. In addition, they left a pretty big mess--paint can lids, sandpaper, and even loose razor blades all over our yard. Pet owners should also beware. They let our cat out and didn't say anything. We realized after they had gone for the day that he was missing and he was gone for 3 days. Overall, we were very disappointed and will not use AP&C again."

"We bought our house with an existing warranty held by . We called the owner, Mr. on two occasions to have him come and inspect the stucco, as covered under the warranty. He finally contacted us about a year after we lived in the home and scheduled the inspection. He also informed us that our warranty contract ...more was expiring soon. He performed the inspection and gave us an quote for repair work on wood trim around the windows that was not covered by the warranty. He also presented us with a bill for the renewal of our warranty. Mr.

sent one of his employees to perform the trim repair work. It took him one day and some of the work was done satisfactorily. However, on one window the employee found more rot than was visible to the eye. He dug out all of this rot, which consisted of most of the lower sill around the window. Mr.

was very quick to claim that the damage to the window was not covered under the warranty, even though the caulking around this window had come apart from the window and that very caulk failure had been covered by the warranty. We were told the window needed to be replaced, but the big gaping hole they had dug out was left for us to deal with. I paid 750.00 for the wood repair and 400.00 for the warranty renewal. A couple of months later, I was going through some paperwork and came across the warranty certificate the previous homeowner had left for us. The original warranty on the home did not expire until August 31, 2009. We contacted Mr.

for a refund for the 400.00 warranty renewal on three different occasions, the final being a threat to retain an attorney. He then mailed us a check for 225.00 for the warranty refund, claiming that 175.00 of that was to cover extra work on our wood trim repair. However, we were never told there was any extra work performed, nor did we authorize any extra work. We can not even find any extra repair work done on our home. In fact, we still have a big gaping hole under our window which we had to tape up with plastic ourselves. In addition to all of this, he acted very unprofessional while he was at our home. We had a large vinyl kiddie pool on our porch, with the brand name of "Intex". He made some crude comment about he thought it read "in-sex" and something else crude I don't recall. I would not recommend this contractor to anyone."
