House Painting reviews in Memphis
My house was built in 1978 and I think this was the third paint job since it was built. I am quite sure that no other painter had ever
applied as much caulk as does so. I had previously had a
carpenter attempt to fix that leak with poor results, but Mr.
I concurred with the high-quality paint and other materials used and am a firm believer in "you get what you pay for".
I expected a substantial amount of repairs on trim and face boards, etc., and was pleased with the quality of the work performed.
We both anticipated that there would be additional needed repairs discovered but these were held to a minimum.
As I mentioned earlier, there was a lot of rain while this project was underway, but some of the work could be performed on portions of the house not being rained on. I was just as happy that nobody attempted to rush the job.
Shortly after getting started, the weather turned making it very difficult to continue work. On days without rain or snow the crew would work on sanding and patching, but no primer or paint could be applied at low temperatures. During the winter
From my experience in construction, I know that the key to a good paint job is preparation and selection of the right products.
Workmanship was excellent, better than any I have seen in 17 years inconstruction. All painting was done by brush with the exception of a deck coating applied to the concrete porch with rollers. Vertical trim boards were painted on three sides; most painters only paint the face and let the siding color run onto the sides of trim. Crown moldings, quarter rounds and other cornice pieces were painted an accent color; lines are clean at adjoining colors with all work cut-in nicely. The brick foundation was painted with a heavy coat of product designed for masonry. The Tuscan porch columns were painted with accents at the base and cap -
I used these guys 7 years ago and it was so good it lasted this long and I was eager to use them again.
Since this was done during winter - a very cold winter - they had to schedule around the weather. They tell me that they cannot paint when the temperature is below about 45 or else the paint would not soak in properly to the wood and thus would not last. So they had to work one day and then skip a day or two until conditions were right. They communicated very effectively with me so I would be prepared.
When I first contacted them about this job, they got me a quote within 24 hours. We discussed the services in detail and I was very comfortable working with the owner both on the phone and by email.
