"On the scheduled installation day, the 3-person crew arrived right on time; they left a little over an hour later. When I looked
at the new bedroom window, it was like it magically appeared in the room. There was not a bit of evidence that there was even
a work crew on the scene. They wet mopped the floor........there wasn't a of their work procedure left behind. It was
truly an outstanding, remarkable job. The window was/is just as remarkable. I love it!!! I want to replace at least three more
windows in the house and would not think of having ANYONE except EVERYDAY EXTERIORS do the job."

"It went great. was very informative about what the work we needed would entail. His carpenter made several excellant suggestions including closing up the area above the bay window and filling it with insulation, which makes our living room much warmer and we would have never thought of. Most of the cost of the project was for the actual door and window so the labor charge was very reasonable."

"We began our project by calling the end of August. We made an appointment with Kähl, the sales contractor, who was personable and knowledgeable. He arrived at the appointed hour, was very willing to answer any and all of our questions. He made several valuable suggestions which we appreciated. He made two or three return trips to help with our decision-making and to finalize our contract with . Since the windows we chose were custom-built, It took a while for them to arrive (we were told about six weeks). One problem that we ran into was the US Government's rebate program that expired the end of the year. Therefore, (and Windows) became extremely busy with orders which resulted in it taking much longer (a few weeks) to get our windows from the manufacturer. A second problem was the resignation of the construction supervisor about that same time, which seemed to bury our project and resulted in more time to get to our project. It took a few phone calls to get us back on track. Once we had a firm date, the crew arrived on time, were professional, kept the rooms clean and installed the windows to our satisfaction. They thoroughly cleaned up after themselves. The windows were exactly as ordered. The insulation for the attic was also performed as promised, the crew arriving on time. This crew was also professional, efficient, and kept the work site clean. Originally, we had also contracted with to repair damage done to the corner roof on our family room (caused by a tree falling). Before that job was started, hail damaged the rest of our roof. We choose to use another roofing company to replace the roof and also to repair any damage to the roof, including the tree damage. very gallantly and with no hassle agreed to let us out of that portion of our contract, which we deeply appreciated."

"He responded to my voice mail within an hour or two. He was able to fit me in for an estimate very quickly. The price he quoted me and the description of the work he would perform was great. He also provided me with a long list of previous customers who could vouch for his work. This was very important to me. When I need to get windows in the future, he will be someone I will check with again."

"They gave me a quote before they did the job. They were very professional and knowledgeable. They did a good job. I got a couple of other bids, but they had the best value for the money and for the service they provided. My interaction with them was fine. They cleaned up well. The product was good. We did have an issue with one of the windows and they resolved it very quickly. They did everything well. They were little over priced. We got a new roof installed this fall and we got an estimate from them. We didn?t go with them because they were considerably more expensive than the company I ended up going with, but I know that they would have done a good job if we had hired them. "

"I met with several contractors and window companies to discuss options for replacing my 35 windows that are over 90 years old. They are original to the house, drafty, and many of the rope wights were broken. I originally was interested in replacing with wood windows from or . However, the additional cost, the extra maintence for wood, having to pay extra to have them stained, (or the time to stain 35 windows myself), the shorter warranty on wood windows, and the softness of the new wood (which are generally pine now and scratch, chip and gouge easily compared to the original 90 year old wood), outweighed the extra perceived benefits, so I started reviewing my options with a wood grain vinyl replacement.
One of the companies I met with was and Door. , the owner, has been in the window business for over 20 years and is very knowledgable about his product (Plygem Windows) as well as the industry. was very personable and courteous in our first meeting and was very responsive to my follow up calls and emails and answered all my questions without ever putting on a sales pitch or saying anything bad about other window brands or other window companies like several of the other companies did who quoted my job.
's / 's reviews in BBB and yahoo were all excellent. I also was able to visit a show room to see additional windows other than the sample window and received great reviews regarding 's work from the people who own the showroom ( at Prolite Building Supply). Additionally, 's quote included redoing all the aluminum trim to custom fit into the new windows around my old window sills and siding on the outside - every other company had redoing the aluminum trim as an extra add on. I also did research on Plygem (the window company, formally know as Great Lakes Window) and they've been in business for over 50 years with good reviews as well. When you add all this up, I felt comfortable awarding the job to and .
When the work started, till the day it was completed, was on the job everyday. He also doesn't sub out his work, he uses the same two father and son installers for each job; and . and have been installing windows for over 20 years and it shows in the quality of work they do. They did a great job all around. The aluminum trim work and caulking look fantastic. The wood work on my kitchen window they rebuilt looks incredible and matches the design and trim of the other windows perfectly (in the same Craftsman style corners). The jobsite was completely cleaned up every day. There was 0 dust in my house. Each day cleaned up with a swiffer, dust wipes and filter vaccum. My house feels warmer and quiter already, and since I no longer feel those "mystery drafts" when I'm on the couch, I'm also anticipating to see lower energy bills.
I've already received a few compliments on how great the new windows look. I'm planning to have , and do my front and side doors in the next couple of months and I have already referred them to others looking for new windows.
You can feel comfortable working with and , and . They do quality work at a competitive price and are trustworthy and take great pride in how their work looks."

"I called to get an estimate on replacing the windows in my house. I called them because they are the dealer in this area for Soft-Lite windows, which have an excellent reputation among contractors nation wide.
The guy went through a very long 90+ minute spiel where he constantly talked down competitors products, while hyping his. He then gave me a quote for ~$11800 for the windows (specifically Imperial LS, double pane, pocket install) This quote was about 50% higher than other similar premium vinyl windows ( , , or Sunrise) that I looked at!
When he called back a week later, I told him I would not use them because the price was out of line. He acted offended and started lying about the quality and nature of some of the other products. For instance he said that uses a membrane instead of a true third pane on their triple pane products, which is a lie.
One other thing, when the guy was measuring my old windows, he actually broke a piece of the grid from one of the windows off. Bottom line, don't even bother calling these guys unless you think that because you live in Wisconsin, you should be milked."

"The could not be counted upon to deliver the product by any deadlines, whether set by them or us. They could not be counted upon to phone with updates, or even return calls or emails. They misordered and misdelivered the product. In the end, after long delays, and much babysitting, we still did not recieve all the parts of our door. The installers (an unrelated third party) cobbled together missing mullions, and while our door is now passable, it is not as promised or expected. I can see no reason whatsoever to work with again. If they were the only folks in town, I'd go to anther town."

"Great to work with. Quick meeting with the salesman who was great with our questions, and whose obligatory up-sell offers were gentle and respectful. It took a little longer to install than we wanted, but that wasn't their fault. Installers' courtesy, speed, and cleanliness were excellent. Windows have done us a lot of good so far and look great."

"In general, we were pleased with the job. The windows took longer to be manufactured at the factory than we were originally to believe. However, once they were received, they were promptly installed. The crew showed up when they said they would (actually, they were early), and completed the job in less time then they had told us. This is our first summer with the windows, and we're still quite happy."
