Also, when we decided that we wanted to expose the bricks of the chimney that stands in the corner of our dining room,

sprayed the brick with a fixative that will allow us to clean the bricks without producing masonry dust. The result is distinctive and beautiful. Some minor damage was caused by tape on the kitchen ceiling when the vented microwave was installed. The kitchen ceiling was not part of the initial job's scope, but

generously repainted the ceiling at no cost.

He then completed the work over several days spread out over a week. We had agreed that there was no rush and he had other jobs going at the same time, so this was acceptable. He initially missed two holes which I found on my walk around afterwards. He immediately came back and patched them and stained over them. I gave him $100 when he did the initial walk around with me to set the date, half the total on the day he started work and the other half after my final walk around."
