"r end, we Our refrigerator stopped working 10 days ago and we called Central Services to assess the situation. They were very prompt and came the same day and determined that our 7" year old refrigerator needed a control board which was ordered the same day and the service man said he would return early the next week when the part came in. So we waited 5 days and heard nothing so called to check on the part. I found their responses quite customer - unfriendly - basically saying there was nothing they could do to speed up the delivery of the part and no way to speed the process up. On our end we had no refrigeration and were living from ice chests, So I looked up the part online and was easily able to find the part and could have had it delivered in 24 hrs.but decided to continue with the planned order through Central Services. Seems like their supplier was pretty slow. The part finally came 7 days after the initial order and I again had to make a couple of calls to Central Services so we would know when it would be here.. Then on the day we arranged to have the repair done, there was no specified time arranged for repair by Central Services. They said the service person would call 30 minutes before coming - so we had to wait the entire day so we would be at home when the repair would be done. Again, I was amazed that they would not set some specified time for the repair to be done as every other company does. To their credit, the service man finally came late in the day and did call before arrival. And he efficient and thorough job repairing the frig. So, it seems that their repair people are quite good but I felt their ordering and scheduling were certainly lacking..

"It went very well. When I called them, they had a serviceman on the beltline and were able to be at my house within an half hour and had it fixed within 5 minutes. He knew immediately" what the problem was and had the part with him.

"I contacted
about my washing machine locking up. I knew it was a water flow problem, but wasn't sure if it was inside the washer.
" from ASU came out that day, correctly diagnosed the problem as being in the hose rather then the machine, fixed the problem and showed me how to take care of the problem should it happen again. The bill was very reasonable for the timeliness of the service. I would use them again.

If the ducts are venting through a window I'm assuming the duct work is all easily accessible.  Lowe's and Home Depot sell a cleaning kit that uses an electric drill to spin the brush as it goes through the ductwork.  I've found it to work quite well and you can do it yourself.  It may take a few passes the first time to get everything out if it has been a while since it was last cleaned.  Just make sure you get all of the loose lint out after running the brush through from both ends and you're good to go.  Please note that if the line is not hard but rather a flex duct line you can easily puncture a whole in it with this kit and will do better to clean it by hand.

As stated above, it can vary between companies.

Typically just an inspection implies you do not have a contract or agreement that may include discounts or free repairs.

With our company you would get the annual maintenace service that you should do every year, and if repairs are needed, they are extra, but you aviod paying a "service call charge" that would be related to most repairs, because you are paying for the "inspection" and we are already on site.

Inspections are often discounted in the slow seasons, and can usually be found advertised , at reduced prices , on Angie's List.

So consider Angie's List and find the best of the best in HVAC contractors!

I have never seen one of this type that does not exit the house. You would not want the grease dumping into your basement, even with a filter it will happen.

The greater part of your job will be carpentry as if there is a wall behind the stove a hole will have to be cut up through the basement into the wall up to the stove. Unless it is one of the stoves that allows for it to fit inside a cabinet below. To answer correctly most here would be a picture of where this project is being done. I have done motorized ones that extend up out of the counter when in use and then retract. Those exit through the cabinet and require the cook top is to the front of the counter and not a drop in one

As an added note these tend to be better as they do not pull the heat away from the stove top when in use as much as the ones flush with the stove. I have install quite a few and happen to have an Amana cook top with built in down draft and I have to shut it of to get water to boil on the back burners.

A carpenter will know what can be cut and what not in the basement, a sheet metal contractor should know as well but at the other end for the finish by the stove they might not. Most carpenters that do kitchens have installed the minimal amount of duct work for this. They just have to be carefull with the number of ellbows and the lenght of the duct.

They were going to squeeze me in and sure enough, they called me less than two hours after my purchase to tell me they would be to my house in 10 to 15 minutes. The removed my old fridge, put in the new, cleaned out the tape and other things in the fridge, made sure it was level and were gone in a very short time! Excellent service! I highly recommend them.

He showed up promptly and on time. He pinpointed the problem quickly and fixed it. It was a broken coupler (sp?). He also cleaned out the vent for the dryer. My washer is 22 years old. I thought I would need to buy a new one but I don't. The honesty, efficiency and professionalism of this person is remarkable. It was such a refreshing experience.

My washing machine stopped spinning and draining the water properly. I tried to fix it on my own but was unable to do so. I called

and the next day he was able to fix it. After describing the problem, he knew exactly what to fix and he did so quickly. Overall, I was very happy he was able to schedule me in less than 24 hours and he was very prompt and efficient.

came to fix the ice dispenser/crusher. There are two possible problems with ice dispensers: 1) the motor; 2) the bucket/augur assembly.
Madison Appliance Repair Experts Provider Name Locked
did not bother to look at the bucket/augur assembly when he arrived, just went straight for the motor, which was plainly working. Yet after jiggling a part connected to the motor,
Madison Appliance Repair Experts Provider Name Locked
said without hesitation that I needed a new motor, the motor was the problem. I asked if he was sure. Oh, yes, he said he was almost certain. He returned a week later with the new motor. I again asked if he was sure it was the motor. He assured me it was the motor, and still did not bother to look at the bucket/augur assembly. He installed the new motor. The ice crusher/dispenser still did not work, all the symptoms were exactly as before I called

. At this point

finally got around to looking at the bucket/augur assembly. He said that appeared to be the problem, and oh by the way, he doesn't bother fixing bucket/augur assemblies, he just advises people to buy a new one, which run about $160. Now we see why it made sense for
Madison Appliance Repair Experts Provider Name Locked
to go straight for the motor when he arrived: it's the main way he can make money, since he doesn't mess with bucket/augurs. The final bill came to $95 for trip charge/labor, and about $115 for the new motor. I regret paying it.

The work itself was performed very well (efficiently and effectively), and the service person (I forget his name) was very knowledgeable and well-spoken. In this respect he was extremely professional.
However, that vanished in the blink of an eye when I attempted to use a $20 coupon I had printed from their Web site. He grew very upset and began to argue (in a heated and intimidating fashion) that he was already giving me a significant break on the cost of the part, and threatening to charge me what he quoted as list price for the part (a difference of a good bit more than $20) if I used the coupon. I had already researched the repair online, and knew that both the list *and* the "discounted" price were significantly above the actual cost of the replacement igniter, but he was so aggressive about this that I was uncomfortable challenging him.

These guys were great. I called with the concern that our freezer wasn't as cold as it should be. The technician was actually able to squeeze us in and was at our house within the hour. He immediately knew what the problem was; the coils were frozen. He had them defrosted and working again in just over an hour. I couldn't be happier with how well this turned out.
