Los Angeles Roofing Contractors Reviews

"It was the most thorough roof evaluation I have ever received, and I felt that
Los Angeles Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
took a lot of time and exercised attention to detail when inspecting the condition of my roof. Plus he attended to the cracks and potential areas of leaking by sealing them without having to be asked to do something. I perceived that he takes a lot of pride in his work and that customer service is of great value to him. He gave me a thorough evaluation of what is going on with my roof, taking a number of pictures and images and we discussed a means to remedy one significant area of my roof which is not in great condition comparatively to the rest of the roof. He didn't immediately set out to pitch me a new roof, which I truly appreciated. He gave his opinion of how much longer the existing roof may last before presenting problems. I thought his proposal is extremely fair in price and warranty, and my husband and I are seriously considering his proposal. I also liked his warranty and maintenance program which I think is a good deal and very fair, especially because you get a free gutter cleaning too, which can be very expensive. I think
Los Angeles Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
sets a high standard for customer service and talks to the customer about what sets his business apart from other contractors, and I feel that sometimes people need to hear what goes into the costs of building and makes pricing differ among contractors. For what he explained to me I feel that one would be buying a very high quality service with high quality workmen who take pride in what they do.
"Did not use the deal, nor their services. Clerical was very aggressive in trying to set up appointment, and kept asking what service we wanted. The service was very clear in the deal. This left an uncomfortable feeling with us, so we passed on it. Oh well, money spent foolishly.
"Turned out to be only a minor debris cleanout, so glad I got the Big Deal price! My only suggestion is that the scheduler inform the customer that the first visit is inspection only -- I thought the work would be done that day and took time off from work to accommodate a longer appointment. Inspection only took about 10 minutes and then had to schedule another appointment for actual work. But no biggie -- just a suggestion
"This was the second roofing job I've contracted with
Los Angeles Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
(the other job went very well, too).
Los Angeles Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
was prompt for the estimate appointment, made a thorough inspection of the areas where high winds had removed shingles from large areas. Whoever had installed the shingles some years before had failed to secure the edges properly and installed the drip edges on top of the shingles -- they also used shingles in place of ridge caps.
Los Angeles Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
also identified potential problem areas with two flat roof areas over the front porch where the seams were beginning to separate. The estimate was fair and the job was completed rapidly with excellent workmanship.
Los Angeles Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
was able to find new shingles and ridge caps that were a close match to the undamaged portions of the roof, correctly installed all new drip edges, and overlaid the flat roof areas with new materials and sealants.
"Nick and
Los Angeles Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
were straightforward and clear in their assessment of the work that needed to be done. They provided an estimate of what was needed and advice on what needed to be taken care of right away and what could wait if necessary. While the job was in process they let me know what was happening. They competed the job on time. They and their crew were friendly and pleasant people to work with. I appreciated their professionalism and would definitely use
Los Angeles Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
in the future.
"Wonderful work! Very complicated logistics with more than five layers of old roofing to demo before the new work could start. The roof work had to be coordinated with installation of a new HVAC roof system, new wiring for electrical, cable TV, phone system and internet to 8 rooms that was all on the flat roof as well as relocation of gas and water pipe also on the flat roof. Work had to be rescheduled a few times due to the delays of other trades. The roof has a concrete slab and there were many holes, cracks and penetrations that had to be repaired before the new roof could be applied including weather delays. Each time
Los Angeles Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
(customer contact) was very accommodating and professional. The the contract was fulfilled completely. There were a few change orders i requested and the cost was as per the provisions of the contract. No surprises, no up-selling, no pressure only excellent work as promised.
"My association with
Los Angeles Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
began when I purchased an Angie's list "Big Deal"-- $69 for rain gutter cleaning and service.
The company was responsive in scheduling an appointment and also with a subsequent confirmation call and email.
The inspector (
Los Angeles Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
) came as expected (November 12) and exhibited a professional manner. After inspecting the roof and taking pictures thereof, he provided a "summary of recommended repairs by item and showed me the photos he took. These photos were emailed to me later the same day. I was impressed by everything that had happened --up to this point. What I neglected to consider was that
Los Angeles Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
did not appear to be prepared to clean the gutters that day. I assumed the gutter cleaning would occur along with the inspection, at least that's what the Angie's List description implied. Admittedly, I could have requested only the gutter cleaning and even taken the time to select repairs I wanted done from the list he provided. But, having no first hand knowledge of the roof and its features, I decided to go ahead with his recommendations, even thought I considered the costs high. We scheduled December 5 for the gutter cleaning and roof repair work.
On December 5 Flavio came mid morning (10:30) and proceeded to "clean" the gutters and roof which amounted to his blowing dirt and debris from the roof and gutters all over the house, driveway, garden and adjoining properties. When
Los Angeles Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
came a bit later (11:05) and I expressed discomfort about the dirt, he said that the dirt/debris would be cleaned up. The "clean up" was minimal and I continued for days to sweep up or brush dirt off of window sills, doors, etc. Had any windows been open at the time, the "mess"would have been worse. At no time was I told "how" they intended to clean the gutters/roof.

After the gutter "cleaning"
Los Angeles Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
said that they would have to come back the next day to complete the repairs. "Normally, we have two men," he commented, "but the weather threw everything off and only one man was available to come today; other men were needed on a bigger job. This is just a maintenance job."
The following day (Friday) Flavio and a helper showed up unexpectedly at 10:10; I had been told that they would come in the afternoon. The men worked for several hours on the roof. Their application of the elastomeric began to leave drips of white around the perimeter of the flat roof. When I mentioned this to Flavio, he then used masking tape to curtail the seepage.
Upon my request the leak in a downspout was sealed and then the downspout was tested to make sure it was clear of debris. I didn't think that I needed to ask them to do this, but I did.
At this point, the company believed that the job had been completed, and sent me a "thank you" e mail to that effect. I, however, was disappointed in the quality of the service and communicated my concerns to the service manager. My e-mail to the service (sent on December 8) has been appended here:
Los Angeles Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
I have several concerns about the work that was done at my house on December 5th and 6th.
1) I am not certain that all downspouts are free of debris. Only one downspout was flushed with water; the others were not. 2) Because water was not run through the gutters, minor leaks were not identified and therefore not fixed. This was confirmed by Saturday's rain.
3) Not all gutter spikes were secured.
4)The elastomeric coating applied to the flat roof in the front of the house "seeped over" onto the metal edging leaving unattractive white stains which became worse with the rain.
5) Regarding the garage gutters-- I expressed concern about the possibility of the downspout(s) being clogged.
Los Angeles Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
indicated that the men would run water through the gutters just to check. If there was a problem then I could decide whether I wanted to have the garage gutters serviced as well. This was not done.
6) And, I have not received the "after" photographs as I was told I would.

Bringing this review to a close--
I did receive the "after" photos from
Los Angeles Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
in a timely manner. It would have been good, though, to pair the before and after photos, side by side so one could really see what had been done.
Los Angeles Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
and Flavio did return on December 21 to address my concerns. And while they did what I had assumed they would have done initially, they did so perfunctorily. For example, when flushing the gutters with water, there was little if any concern for what the water might land on. While this may sound minor, I expected a more professional job.
And last-- I was dismayed to see that my credit card had been charged for the full amount before the job was completed.
I emailed
Los Angeles Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
citing concerns on December 8; The credit card was charged on December 9. I imagine there are separate departments handling separate aspects of the business. But, I was surprised by this action.
Overall, the quality of the work was not commensurate with the cost. And, the aspects of professionalism , e.g. confirmation calls and emails, etc. were not apparent in the quality of the work.

"I initially contacted
Los Angeles Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
to do an inspection and possible patching because of a leak. I knew the roof was old and probably needing replacing. After showing me photos of exactly what the problems were, I knew I needed to replace the roof. They were doing an "Angie's List Big Deal" and he gave me a good, and fair price. They were always punctual; cleaned up completely everyday; and did an excellent job. I'm very happy with the results.
I am very impressed with Nick. He was responsive, available, took the time to explain every step, listen to any of my concerns, and develop a working relationship that conveyed integrity and trust. Although these are a couple of small examples, I think they say a lot about his work ethic and the type of person he is. In addition to cleaning up my property completely, when the job was finished, he contacted my next door neighbors to make sure there wasn't any debris next door that needed to be cleaned. In addition, I happened to mention my doorbell was broken and he immediately fixed it for me, even going to Home Depot to get one for me without charging me for it.
In short, I will absolutely use him in the future for more of the deferred maintenance projects I have; and will recommend him to friends and family. To be able to find a contractor that really cares about the quality of his work, the development of the relationship with a satisfied customer, and who is a pleasure to work with; is a wonderful resource. Nick is is a gem! I highly recommend him.
"We are very happy with the work done by
Los Angeles Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
Los Angeles Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
, and the rest of the team.
Los Angeles Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
has his own group of workers that he employs so he does not just hire a series of subcontractors (like some of the other contractors we met).
Los Angeles Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
was straightforward and honest in all of his dealings. We never felt that he was trying to take advantage of us or get away with doing substandard work. When discussing options for various aspects of the renovation,
Los Angeles Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
would not hesitate to recommend a course of action that he thought would work best even if was more costly for him. Whenever we identified a problem with the work being performed, he would address it immediately and correct any error - typically at his own expense. Given the extent of our renovation and the quality of the work performed, we feel the cost was very reasonable. We would not hesitate to recommend SOD to our friends and colleagues.
"My son took charge of seeing that the contactor did the installation. The roof covered over 8,000 square feet and as expected there were several situations that were not evident until the old roof was removed. My son worked out all the new issues with the owner Amit Sinay to our satisfaction. We had some additional cost but these were completed to our satisfaction. The crew was very professional, completed the work on time, and left the property very clean. Amit Sinay was always available to deal with any problems. Overall I would give
Los Angeles Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
an A+.
