He spent a couple of hours at our home and was very detailed in how he went about his inspection. All the tests came back normal, so I was not sold on any remediation I didn't need. "I am a single woman buying my first home (condo) and was pretty nervous about the home inspection. Most of the process of buying didn't scare me but I was worried about my lack of repair knowledge and skills. Generally, the inspection is the last contingency you give for opting out of the sales deal. I was nervous I'd make a costly mistake. The agency I worked with gave me a list well reviewed inspectors (from their clients) to help me narrow down my choices. I noticed one inspection company on both their list and Angie's list - . I was hoping for the best.
While waiting for the listing agent, appeared a few minutes early. I was standing with one of my agents who turned to me and said 's terrific, I'm glad he's doing this inspection. Then the listing agent appeared and made a similar comment. Two more agents, two more comments! (If you're keeping count - that's four!) I felt pretty good about my choice seeing that both the seller and buyer agents were happy to have him for the inspection.
He conducted a general inspection and made sure he explained what he was seeing. For things needing attention, he explained what was wrong with them, how they needed repairs, gave me a general idea for some items on what the parts cost (not labor), told me how to clean filters on a vent, how to turn off the gas on a wall heater and who to call to get it back on, didn't mind my questions...(what kind of person do I call? a plumber?) He told me what the maintenance entailed, where to look for leaks, and gave me some great ideas on future improvements for my unit. He didn't just point out necessary repairs to me, he also told me positive features of the unit. (double pane thermal windows. high end appliances, who knew?)
's friendly, knowledgeable and left me feeling confident. When the inspection was over, I had a clear idea of what the issues were with my future home. I don't feel intimidated by repairs I will be responsible for. If I ever need another home inspection, I wouldn't hesitate to hire him again."

"Overall, I couldn't have been happier with @ FoundationWorks and his partner. They took the time and effort to crawl through the crawlspace under a house I'm buying -- it's nasty down there. We started to move some stuff out, but there is a LOT of stuff! These two got decked out in a full-body suit and gave my boyfriend a very thorough tour of every single corner of the base of the house. Their sticker price might be a bit shocking, but they're very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about houses...and they are quick to offer suggestions for less costly alternatives. They actually told me more about my house than the house inspector! I definitely recommend them, whole-heartedly. "

"Exceptional! That?s it in one word. Being a general contractor for 20 years, I know a good home inspection report when I see one. Over the years I have seen hundreds of home inspection reports. The first time I saw one of ?s reports I was very impressed. Before I bought my house I called them to inspect the house just to make sure I wasn?t missing anything. was very pleasant on the phone and the inspection was scheduled for two days later. At the inspection found a few problems that I had not seen. The report was very thorough, professional, accurate and informative. I found them to be very detail oriented and organized. From what I understand they are members of CREIA, an association of professional home inspectors. Another thing that stood out was the helpful use of pictures in the report. The photos in the report where relevant to the problems and made the report much easier to understand even for a layperson."

"We had a tree growing next to our foundation so I was concerned might become compromised. I called Foundation Works and came out to check things out. He walked around the house, inside and out, then crawled under the house to check . He found 2 cracks in and the 4 compromised piers, explaining to me what the problem was and how they proposed to fix it. communicated clearly and was able to answer all my questions and gave me a quote on the spot. I told him I'd probably have them do the work, but my wife was about to have a baby, so I told him we probably wouldn't be able to do it until things settled down after the baby was born. When my wife and baby were out of town, I scheduled the work to be done. 3 guys showed up at about 8:30am - they were all friendly and polite and seemed pretty serious about their work because they pretty much moved their tools inside and immediately went under the house and worked until they were finished at around 2pm."
