Drywall Repair And Installation reviews in Los Angeles

We started with
Los Angeles Drywall Contractors Provider Name Locked
in December and finished the bathroom in January. It clearly took longer than anticipated. The largest delay was not having the components already picked out and purchased and shipped to our home. I wouldn’t start any kitchen or bath project until all parties have agreed upon the components and they are in the home. We had delays with tile shipments, big discussions on what type of glass for the shower, then delays on the glass order. We had a medicine cabinet part arrive broken in shipment, which delayed even more. None of these delays were because of Regal but regardless they were delays.
Los Angeles Drywall Contractors Provider Name Locked
showed us a quick computer drawing of the bathroom, but we never had the specifics printed on a drawing sheet. At first a bathroom sounds easy, but when you add sizes and placements of shower and soap boxes, it’s best to agree and have it printed on paper. The tile workmanship was good, but we had to have them replace edges that just were not great. We would have preferred for
Los Angeles Drywall Contractors Provider Name Locked
to notice the problems and fix them, and not wait for our friends and us to complain about them. But
Los Angeles Drywall Contractors Provider Name Locked
did fix them.

Bathrooms can be complicated in old homes. We had more charges for bad flooring and pipes and electrical issues. I would suggest you ask the GC about what extra charges might happen before they start. I have to think a GC could explore in more detail the potential issues. I think they are afraid of losing the bid to a lower priced vendor, but I like to know up front what charges could happen. Save another 20 to 30% of the costs to add after the initial bid if you have an older home.

We were upset that since they opened up the entire bathroom, that they could have done a better job changing some of the plumbing. They realized the shower hot water line wrapped around under the house, but the newer water heater was outside on the others side of the wall and they rerouted the shower hot water for no extra costs. BUT they didn’t do the same for the sink. Being our first bathroom remodel, we didn’t think of that issue and how easy it would have been to solve it. Thus, after the walls were closed, we had to hire another plumber for $300 to change the hot water line for the sink. I really think
Los Angeles Drywall Contractors Provider Name Locked
’s guys should have told us that. It would have been VERY

when the walls were open.

They didn’t use primer on the door trim to the bathroom and it just peeled off. We had other painters bring that up to our attention. I think knowing to put primer on oil based paint would have been a given. They installed the shower hot/cold reversed. I had to explain several times how the water flow should work. He brought in a 2nd plumber and he quickly understood the flow of the water.

ALL of the workmen that came to the house were nice and very polite and on time and we trusted them. Language barriers sometimes complicated minor issue.

has access to very qualified players when needed, but I think those qualified players should have been around a little more often checking the work of the other workers.

In any major (yes bathroom is major….
Los Angeles Drywall Contractors Provider Name Locked
’t fool yourself) take the time to plan and purchase your items BEFORE you begin. I
Los Angeles Drywall Contractors Provider Name Locked
’t blame
Los Angeles Drywall Contractors Provider Name Locked
for us starting too quickly, since we were eager to be done before Christmas, but with all the delays as mentioned above, we were finished in early February. I wish he was more strong on saying, we shouldn’t start until the items have been selected and delivered to the site. It may sound easy to pick out lights, faucets, mirrors, towel bars, but it’s a lot of work. We found GREAT items at
Los Angeles Drywall Contractors Provider Name Locked
Diamond. We were not happy with Loews or Home Depot.

My job is sales with larger projects and my clients say that issues always come up in large projects and it’s the vendor that gets the client through the problems is whether they get repeat business.

at times could become very defensive, but in the end we trusted him to make the right decisions and make us happy. People walk into our home and rave about the bathroom, so the end result was positive and we are happy!

. This company failed to complete the closet they were creating and there gaps in the

. Another contractor had to be hired and paid to finish the job that was started by this company. In addition, the company failed to cover a newly refinished bathtub when they drywalled the ceiling of the bathroom and caused damage to said tub.
Wood floors. The wood floors, having been completely refinished in sections of the house and newly installed in sections of the house have the following problems:
The staining is inconsistent - they did not stain corners and sections of the wood so the color is not consistent throughout the house.
There are gashes and dings in the floors ALL OVER which they attempted to fill with putty which stands out and looks horrible. There are many many dings and dents in the new wood that was installed.
There are many places where the wood is separating and there are gaps between the pieces.
There are several places where one piece of new wood meets a piece that was part of the original floor and the new piece sinks when stepped on.
The floor creaks everywhere.
There are nails that come out of the floor such that it can be dangerous to my children.
The floors are abnormally slippery and dangerous. My son slipped on the floors and broke his arm.

was professional and quick in providing an estimate and once the work was agreed upon, the work was performed fast and ahead of time.
Because of the nature of my request, the work could be performed over a few weekends with minimal hassle.
The removal of the acoustic ceiling went very fast and we were relieved to find that minimal work was needed to smooth out the ceiling. The worker took two days to fully skim and seal our ceiling, as he put down a thick coat and two thin coats of plaster.
The painters were scheduled to arrive the following weekend but doe to another job finishing early, they were able to start ours sooner than expected. Wasting no time, the job was completed that day and all of

showed a high level of pride in their work.
The ceiling turned out better than we had expected and are extremely happy with the work and professionalism shown on the job. We will be using

again in the future.
Removal - $1,620.00
Paint - $1,050.00

was very responsive. He met with us twice, both times during the weekend, to walk through our house and to refine estimates and plans. He helped us select paint colors. His guys were fast. They started painting on a Wednesday and worked through the weekend to finish to meet our scheduling. He was very reasonably priced as well, undercutting other estimates we received. On top of that his work was top notch.
One caveat:
Los Angeles Drywall Contractors Provider Name Locked
is not a native English speaker, so you do need to work a little harder in terms of getting your point across. But he will definitely work hard to get and keep your business. We are planning to use him to paint the exterior of our house after we move in.

We had a little miscommunication about the start time, but after that the project was smooth sailing.
The two guys showed up and got to work, fixed more cracks in my walls then I thought they would, and REALLY cleaned up after themselves. They even mopped!

I could not have been happier with the work that
Los Angeles Drywall Contractors Provider Name Locked
did on my home, which included a full kitchen remodel, vaulting some ceilings, and installing 3 skylights. The end product I received was better than I dreamed it could have been. Their whole team is very professional and I got along with them very well. They were always on time and communicated things to me regularly throughout the process, always asking for my input on decisions but also giving their opinions when asked, as well. I actually missed having them in the house working after they were done!!! They are a bunch of great guys and true professionals. If you ever need help on a remodeling project, give them a call!

This review is long overdue. Our house has been under construction/renovations for over 5 years. we've had several contractors, rather than retaining one, due to unsatisfactory work/performance. We researched, interviewed, and checked references of the contractors we hired, which were highly recommended and/or were given high ratings. Unfortunately, despite this, the contractors performed poorly, and certainly DID NOT live up to their reputation/rating. Lesson learned. We heard about Angie’s List, and realized this was a better method of finding reliable, honest contractors. HELLO, SOD!
In early fall 2013, we initially hired SOD to stucco our entire house. We asked for smooth stucco and were advised the issues that will crop up with this type of stucco. I understood and decided to follow through and live with it. Few weeks later, it was done, on time on budget. The stucco job looks fantastic and I now have a brand new house. Because we was happy and satisfied with the project, we decided to let them fix all the other crap work that was done by my previous contractors. It’s now January 2014 and they have methodically and continuously been doing work on our house. We have them scheduled to renovate our eye-sore of a backyard.
We FINALLY retained 1 contractor! It’s the first time in 5 years, a contractor has exceeded our expectations. What started off as 1 job has evolved into several small construction/renovation projects.
Liran, our project manager, has been/is amazing. He’s very knowledgeable, very attentive to detail, and is incredibly responsive. More importantly, he’s patient and listens; making sure to explain and provide options/suggestions, and any limitations to our wishes/needs. He’s also efficient and respectable.
Everyone we've interacted with from SOD, are professional, hard working , trustworthy, and courteous. They do what they can to make our home renovations run smoothly. They always clean up after themselves after a days work. SOD has been, and continues to be a dependable, excellent company that strives to be fair and does exceptional work. While they are not the cheapest bid, the cost is worth it. We WILL continue hiring them for additional projects in the near future. We highly recommend SOD for your construction/renovation project!
THANK YOU SOD, especially Liran, for continuous making our home, a happy home!
