Dog Training Reviews in Los Angeles

This place is awesome. Very friendly and very quick performing a great job every time. My little guy
always comes home happy and clean.

Issues in the earliest session involved dog quarreling and barking (2006). In the lastest sessions (2013), with a new adoptee, issues were larger. Buster-Bravo was scared to death and a bully with newcomers to the house and (in particular) male dogs, on the street. This little dog has a chronic health condition and is nearly totally deaf but he has a very intimidating bark.
Five sessions were required with my temperamental
in 2013. We put a crate in the room where I worked with clients. For several months, the dog was fed there so he'd have positive feelings about being crated. He needed (and still needs) to get acquainted with one person at a time. He prefers adults and teens, and I respect that. I seldom use the crate, but I do instruct new visitors on their behaviors when first meeting BB. On rare occasions he is confined. Generally he
down and goes to sleep in the room where I and my clients work.

For home training, Buster-Bravo was crated, and the crate was covered.
formulated a system of rewards by the "victim" only when the dog calmed down. This required both fearful and fearless volunteers, considerable patience, and TIME. I fully believe and accept that some of the behavioral issues belong to the pet owner. Some also accrue to visitors entering the house. You don't wave your arms like a wild person or sneak up on a deaf dog! We practiced during the week and the following Saturdays,
returned to evaluate our work and advance our skills.
Street training included leash training. I learned to effectively handle the dog on all occasions. One exercise involved walking past the fences where enclosed, assertive dogs lunged. I learned to keep Buster-Bravo close to me, unable to charge. He learned that I meant business. It was in the handling of the leash and nudging with my legs that results improved. We still practice to improve our skills! We continue to gain confidence, thanks to
does not resort to violent means. With most dogs, her mere posture calms them. She uses her voice in a
that is firm but never threatening. She explains things very well, suggests alternative techniques custom to the situation, and tirelessly answers all questions. She has always been available on email and is very supportive, encouraging, and ready to do further problem solving. This service has been included in the price of the in-home sessions. It is totally worth the cost!
travels Los

Buster-Bravo and I are doing very well. We check in with

called back the same day, and spent a good deal of time talking to us. She asked great questions and was forthcoming about options for this guy. Made some suggestions we could start acting on, and gave us an idea of what kind of commitment we should prepare for if we go ahead and keep this older dog and train him. It turns out she is not in our area, but she gave me a referral to another trainer as well as a vet hospital.

came to my home and assessed both dogs' behavior. My older dog isn't the problem, the puppy is, but they both needed to be checked.

simply watched them, and his thoughts about the dogs were pretty accurate. He told me how he worked, and that he never uses anything but positive reinforcement in training. He showed me several AMAZING tricks, which made the dogs understand that I was the boss. I can now put treats on the floor right in front of them, make a signal, and they will not touch them until I say so. If they are barking, I make this signal and they stop! I also ordered a citronella collar for the barker, which has worked incredibly well.

is going to come again and we will work on the puppy's aggression with children (we just have to find some to sacrifice...). Quite simply, I am amazed at his way with my dogs, and how well he understood them, and how I needed to change my behavior (I'm an RN, and a mother, which he said makes me too nurturing for the dogs and they take advantage of me!) From the minute

walked in the door of our house, I could tell she was going to work wonders with our dog -- she sort of had that 'doggie whisperer/connection,'

immediately took notice of her and when she spoke, he listened!

came from the streets and while not some crazy wild dog, he just didn't know ANYTHING about rules of the house (seriously, not even 'sit'). He also was pretty naughty on the leash, tugging and barking at other dogs -- this is not a desirable trait in a 72lb dog! I purchased a series of sessions w/

and even though we are not even half way through them, I'd have to say my dog is a completely new and improved and wonderful dog. He knows several commands, is BRILLIANT on the leash (just this morning we passed by three different sets of yapping dogs and he didn't even flinch) and is so well behaved that pretty much anyone who meets him can't help but comment on what a good dog he is.

We have had
Los Angeles Pet Sitters Provider Name Locked
visit and walk our dog for a couple of years now, so she is definitely part of our family. Needless to say, we are utterly relieved and thrilled with her and her services. She is trustworthy and dependable. The most important thing - our dog loves her. He was a ?rescue? that came to us with a few issues, and with her love of animals and training skills, he is much more secure and calm. She has gained his trust and ours!

I liked the class well enough. I thought it was well run. My dog did not like
Los Angeles Pet Sitters Provider Name Locked
, however he said he's never been bitten by a dog, and my 3.8 lb. Chihuahua tried to bite him. I'm not sure he was the right trainer for a recalcitrant dog. But he seems to love dogs.

This place is great. It is a kennel free environment and a home. The bigger dogs are separated from the smaller dogs during the day when they play. They evaluate the dog before they allow it to stay there. The areas where the dogs play are outside. In the evening they sleep indoors with people. It is a home and the have the areas in the house where the dogs are set up like your house. The training was great and my dog loved it. She is high energy and got lots of play time. The training worked wonders, great people and unique set up. I loved the home setting.

I cannot imagine using another trainer.
