Los Angeles Air Duct Cleaners Reviews
Bought an Angie's List deal for air vent cleaning (before making decision on new furnace) and was told if it had asbestos, I could get a refund. When the main 2 man crew came, they took a look in the closet and immediately told me they couldn't clean because of asbestos. I asked if they installed because it isn't mentioned on website. Yes, and I told them to make it efficient and legal. Originally told it would be done over 2 days. But luckily all their workers and subcontractors were available so equipment was removed, replaced and installed in one day.
Like I mentioned, I noticed a certain noisiness, and after a few scheduling delays, the crew came back already understanding the problem and fixed it in about 20 minutes. Yuda and
It’s great to find a good company - I know I’ll need to replace my vents and furnace in a couple of years time, and I know who to turn to now.
They cleaned up before leaving, but did not do as good a job as I would have liked. There were black scuff
They worked hard and long for the money as our ducts were really a mess. They did extra things like making sure everything was working properly, all the ducts were properly connected etc. They cleaned the furnace thoroughly. They were very proud of doing good work and they wanted us to be happy.
I would definitely use them again. Just be prepared that the coupon for a Big Deal rarely covers the full cost of the service that is needed.
So, I had another service inspect their work. The other service was known to several of my friends as being totally reliable and honest. They put a video camera in the vents and showed me that nothing had been cleaned. They also showed me that the dryer vent was improperly done. I had them re-do everything, and then reviewed a second video to insure that it had been done properly.
We were very impressed and give them a strong thumb's up for a job well done. We intend to have them back when its time for another cleaning.
It started with a hot water heater shutting itself off.
The building is a duplex and there are 2 heaters (approx 9 yrs old), both located in the basement. One went out, the other fine.
I had gas company come check/relight heater cause I'm a bit "chicken" when it comes to gas and fire.
The gas co. came and said "neither were venting properly" and shut both down.
Next, I called a plumber (another company) to check it out. He went to the roof (which is difficult to access - I have not been up there myself) and dropped a line down the pipe and concluded nothing was in the vertical portion of pipe. The problem must be in lower section. The lower section is about a 6' stretch of old asbestos vent pipe. Because of this he would not go any further. I got a horror story about nothing being up to code and gave me an estimate to reroute all the venting out and up side of the house, and/or relocate the heaters, run new gas lines to location and naturally to replace the heaters. This was all without even knowing what, if anything, was clogging the vent.
I had another plumber come who wouldn't go on the roof, or check pipe. He did however confirm that there were no code violations (as previous inspectors concluded) and suggested removing the asbestos pipe. So, removing the pipe was the only way I was going to be able to check what/if anything was blocking vent.
I actually contacted
WELL, as it turns out, there was nothing in the pipe and the previous plumber had dropped a line down the wrong pipe.
I still have the rest of the mystery to deal with but so far
The contractor in December 1980. I would recommend
The workers are cheerful, but hardly ever take breaks until their job is completed. I highly recommend this company and its fascinating international "cast" of workers. :)
