"I actually started over a year ago remodeling my home. the first thing that was done was the guest bathroom. I had a new vanity top installed, new lights, and new faucets and new sinks. The bathroom now has the WOW factor. I next went with new Bamboo floors in the entire house except for the family room which had tile. He got rid of all the carpeting, picked up the bamboo and then laid the bamboo floors. I just had to pick out what I wanted and he went and bought it and installed it. The cost included all the labor and materials used. I also had my entire house repainted. New baseboards were added also. My entire house looks as though it was just built. He installed a wall as you walk in the house so I have a little separate entry way which the house lacked. "

"We were in contract for a home requiring a 203k renovation due to a gutted guest bathroom. from AIC was absolutely wonderful in working with us to complete the bid for submission to our mortgage lender. He submitted an extremely comprehensive, very detailed bid that included renovating the bathroom as we wished, drywall issues, electrical and plumbing problems, code violation corrections and other problems. We as inexperienced first-time homebuyers changed our mind on the bathroom renovation several times, and his bid was subsequently modified per our requests 4 different times. has the patience of a .
The total amount of the bid was approximately $16,000.00. AIC was not the low bidder, but because of great customer service, superior communication and attention to detail, we felt the most comfortable with them and chose to pay a higher amount for increased peace of mind. When the bank came back with a whole new laundry list of details and specifications for AIC to address, once again produced everything necessary very quickly.
Unfortunately, the deal ultimately fell through due to incompetent dealers/investors, so the work was never started. However, we will certainly be using AIC in the future and would wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone."

"We are in contract for a 203K streamline renovation property. We are under a very tight deadline to close. Pinnacle was recommended by our Realtor, as his realty company works with them extensively to renovate bank-owned properties. They were very responsive and came to our property the next day to inspect. They had a bid submitted within 24 hours.
Unfortunately, the bid was 1/2 page long and did not break down the cost. We asked for a cost breakdown -- with numerous emails and calls from both us and our Realtor, it took them almost a week to provide one. When it finally came, it was a generic spreadsheet that looked like an 8-year-old created it. It was full of misspellings, completely vague terminology, did not include some items and was totally unprofessional looking. The few questions we asked to be included in the proposal were acknowledged in emails, but Pinnacle would not update the actual proposal.
When we asked for references, licensing and insurance documents, a more comprehensive proposal and a more specific breakdown of cost (rough estimates indicating approximately what percentage went to labor, materials, etc) , the VP got very defensive and flat-out refused to provide any of this, touting that they had lots of experience and a great reputation. He promised the insurance and licensing documents at a later point and did not comment on the references request at all.
Last I checked, Pinnacle doesn't have ANY reviews online so we were quite concerned by this. Our other bids were happy to include a rough breakdown of cost without our asking - as ANY contractor should provide. Wouldn't you want to know exactly how your hard-earned money is being spent?
In short, Pinnacle seems to be doing well with working on bank-owned properties. Since they clearly have no idea how to work with individual consumers, they should stick to that. Pinnacle was a complete waste of energy and time, and we don't have time to spare right now. Very disappointing!"

"Like the other reviews indicate, has a serious issue with responsiveness. We are in contract for a 2200 sq. ft., 203k renovation property that requires approximately $25-30k worth of renovations. We have to close soon, so it is imperative we hire a contractor who is on the ball. I called for a quote very recently around 10am, gave the receptionist a fairly detailed amount of information on the property, the repairs needed, our timeline, and my phone number. I was told someone would call us back within an hour or so. Around 4pm I called again to follow up. The woman who answered sounded neither surprised nor concerned that we had not been called back and said that 'maybe' one of the managers would call me the next day. I reminded her that our situation was very time-sensitive and again gave her the information and my phone number. Well, nobody called the next day, OR the day after that. I'm not gonna call you guys 3 times just to allow you the opportunity to earn our business, . If that's how responsive you are to potential clients, how bad do you get once you actually start working for someone? Get it together. Or, don't... other contractors out there have been falling all over themselves for our business, and in this economy they certainly should be."

"I already had the materials needed to do the job, but they wanted to provide everything in order to do the job. They were very nice, responsive, and professional, but it just 't what I wanted. If you have a larger scale project then they are worth talking to. I don't know how competitive their pricing will be. "

"They are not finished yet, but it is fabulous. They are wonderful. They have got it framed. They put the door in and they put the post in. So far we are thrilled with them. I can't imagine them anything up. They started work about 3 weeks ago. The job is messy, but they are very neat. They do what they say they are going to do and when they say they are going to do it. They are very good with communication. They tell you everything that is going on and exactly what they are doing. If they need something, they just run out and get it. They don't say they will have to come back the next day. They just get it handled. They are very friendly and very nice. They work around our schedule. They are very considerate and very careful with everything else around like the garden. They don't break up stuff. They are very neat and they clean up after themselves. They are very nice guys. They also don't push their opinion on you. It is a lot of work and there are a lot of people involved in the work. They have all been fabulous. I have already referred them to my girlfriend moving in next door. She needs a lot of work done. They have already contacted her and quoted her. Their quotes were so much less than anybody else's. I definitely would use them again in the future. I wouldn't even look anyplace else."

"Fast service, installer showed up on time and finished the project in one day. Returned the next day to check on the tile and make sure it set properly and sealed it. We are very happy with the results."

" came recommended by the HVAC contractor and didn't disappoint us. He showed up on time and got right to work. He got all the prep work done, but when the City inspector showed up he wanted the work done in a different way. was very professional about the change and agreed to come back on Christmas eve to finish the job, even repaired a couple of areas that I didn't even see needed patching. I rated him an A for price, but I really don't have a good reference point to know if the price paid was competitive. Given the amount of work did the $300 seems like a bargain though. Will definitely call again."

"We are property investors living in Nevada and prices in the Portland were very good so we bought a 4 plex in Portland in 2004 and sold it in 2006.
It was located in Portland on N.E. 68th. There were two 2 br. units on top floor and two 1 br. units on the bottom with a yard surrounding the complex for everyones use. Each 2 br. unit had an attached one car garage.
The rent was good.
The first fix was a water heater so I called a local plumber with a big ad out of the yellow pages in Portland.
We got thoroughly taken when this man put in an oversized water heater for the 1 bedroom and charged us $900 for the heater and to install. Because we weren't there to supervise.
As the current tenants moved out we needed to have someone repaint, repair and locate any upgrades etc that might be needed prior to renting the units.
We needed someone in Portland that we could rely on to handle the repairs.
A good friend of ours in Portland that recommended Construction. It is family owned and had the ability to do both large or small jobs. We flew up and met with . A really nice guy!
He was able to supply painters, people to install appliances, and blinds, fix small plumbing jobs like fixtures etc. All at very reasonable prices.
Periodically we would fly up to see the property. My tenants were always satisfied with the promptness of the work and the people who performed it.
The complex was about 20 years old and construction was not as good as we had thought.
We found a problem that the water was leaking down the wall and inside the windows on both of the lower floor 1 br. units. The problem had existed for a long time but we hadn't noticed until the rains hit and the new tenants complained.
discovered the problem right away. For some reason when they built the 4plex the workmen failed to put insulation paper all the way to the roof line. It stopped about a foot from the roof in the attic. The wood they used was not the best so it soaked with the water and then dribbled down the walls and into the window sills and the apartments.
We had to replace both the upper and lower windows and casings below the leaks, the sheet rock around the windows and the siding on the outside.
was able to match the siding exactly so it looked just great.
We bought the duplex as an investment and after fixing its problems, painting inside and out, and adding fencing and trees to the yard we sold it in two years for a nice profit.
We give 5 stars of excellence to Construction!
Excellent work, reasonable prices, and you can trust him to do the job right.
He has reliable contractors within his reach to solve any problem right away.
When the economy gets better we will invest in the Portland area again and we'll definitely use for all of our needs.
I recently discovered that Angies list is where a majority of people go for recommendations for local contractors in the Portland area.
I wanted to make sure that had the recommendation they deserve.

"I called and asked for an estimate for work I wanted done. A date and time was agreed upon and the person arrived an hour early. Person took measurements and said I would receive a written estimate quickly. Waited two weeks and no estimate. Then, on a Saturday someone called and quoted a total price to my wife. Never asked to speak to me. I did not get the price broken down for the various projects I requested.
So I hired someone else to do the work and it was done in two days."
