"My husband’s tub appeared stained and badly worn. When my husband complained I had cleaned his tub too much and he almost slipped, I decided cleaning wasn’t" enough. I phoned
Tub who requested I email him my home address and availability. I sent him an email. After a few days, I thought he hadn’t gotten back to me but then I realized I used the wrong email address. I resent the email to the correct email address and he got back to me the same day.
accommodated my schedule and was on time for both the estimate and repairs. During the estimate appointment,
checked the tubs, sinks, showers and countertops in all three of my bathrooms. He did not try to sell me any unnecessary services. I thought my husband’s entire tub would need to be re-glazed but
suggested working on only the bottom since the rest of the tub was in good shape. He was able to color-match the new glaze with the rest of the tub. He also added a medium grit texture to the tub bottom so no more worries about the husband slipping during his shower. The texture feels a little chalky but I think that will disappear after a few showers. When
prepared the estimate, he warned me that the repairs to the beige cultured marble countertops would not be “perfect.” After he repaired these gouges, it was difficult for me to tell where the gouges had been. So he did a great job matching the color and smoothing out the patches. I was very pleased and would recommended
Tub and Tile to my family and friends. I especially appreciated that
saved me a few hundred dollars by suggesting that I only repair the bottom of the tub.

"The color was not what I chose, the texture of the product itself is very uneven, its not smooth, its bumpy in some places and smoother in others. It looks nothing" like the sample, neither in color or texture. I spoke with the owner,
about my complaint. He came to my home and brought the sample along with him. We looked at it together and looked at the difference in color and texture between the sample and my counter tops. He said that he would not use that process or resurfacing product again in a residence for future customers because of the many complaints against that product, but that he would continue to use it in apartments because they didn't seem to care. He said the solid color resurfacing products were less and that he would refund me the difference between the solid color and the custom color, which is what I paid for. The solid color was $295 each and the custom color was $375 each. The refund he offered to give me was a difference of $80 for each counter top, which only put me at a $240 refund, when I paid $1,125.00 for the job. That is absolutely unacceptable for work that was nothing like the sample that he gave me before starting to work. I did not get what I paid for.

Bathtub refinishing

Over time, the bathtub can begin to show signs of wear with stains, scratches, a dull finish or other ugly marks. Bathtub refinishing is an option that can return a bathtub or shower enclosure to like-new appearance.

OK - terminology issue here. The "shower pan" is a collection liner than underlies the shower floor itself, and is designed (if built and plumbed right) to trap any leakage from the shower floor and route it to the same floor drain pipe. Example image here, copper in this case -

It sounds like your are saying the shower floor or base unit failed - likely a fiberglass or plastic shower, which commonly fail due to incomplete support under them. This can be repaired if fiberglass, but is not usually done unless just microcracking, as it is hard to find an expert - usually you have to have a car body fiberglass specialist or a surfboard repair expert do it, and the color will not match perfectly unless you get a new gelcoat over the entire base unit. Cost about $300-500, ASSUMING the material can be repaired - true fiberglass can, thermoplastic can sometimes be welded but anyone's guess how long it will last without cracking again, plastics like PVC can rarely be fixed so they will hold someone standing on them. Any sort of repair is likely to crack again, because you have done nothing to remove the cause of the cracking which is standing on a base that is not fully supported over its full extent. Some cheepo or desperate plumbers try injecting non-pressuring type expanding foam underneath to improve the support - this does a great job of supporting it but unfortunately supports mold, so starts stinking in short order as a rule.

The normal fix is to remove and replace it, because once it is out there is no sense in putting a damaged one back in for the small increment in cost. Removing it means taking the shower wall liners or the bottom row or two of tile out so you can get the new base unit into place (because they overlap it), then replacing them. So, the $3000 range indicated is indicative of this type of job, which typically runs from a very low of around $1500-2000 for an identical base unit, to more typically $3-5,000 depending on whether a shower enclosure or tile walls. Of course, when the new one is put in, it is CRITICAL that it be fully supported - this means rubbing plumbers rouge or similar marking substance on the bottom, test fitting it, and then lifting it out and checking that all the stiffener ribs and support pads made contact with the pan, and making adjusments as necessary until it has full contact, then standing in it and rocking back and forth to check for any points not making full contat and fixing them.

The $10,000 plus numbers you got must have been for entire shower replacement down to the joists and studs, and the $30,000 range number would be typical for a full bathroom remodel with new shower or shower/tub and doors and surround, wall finishes, vanity, sink, toilet, and flooring and door.

Bathtub Refinishing reviews in Las Vegas

I contacted
Las Vegas Bathtub Refinishers Provider Name Locked
via angies list and he gave me an email to send pictures. He was quick to respond via email and gave an estimate of 145 to repair and 395 to completely refinish the kitchen sink. The complete repair was a bit more than I expected, so I pted to not do the work.

If you are old enough to remember when a man was as good as his word and people took pride in the professionalism of their work then this is the company for you and
Las Vegas Bathtub Refinishers Provider Name Locked
is the man for the job. He is courteous, punctual, knowledgable and very capable. Best of all he can think outside the box and will do his best to facilitate special situations such as one we had with one of the tubs.
I recommend him with absolute confidence that your experience will be satisfactory as mine. The tubs look better than new and I am very happy with the whole experience.
And If you are not old enough to remember good service, you are in for a treat.
- Sandra D.

The employee who did the tub resurfacing did a good job. There were cracks in the tub that needed filled in and smoothed out, then he repainted to whole tub. There are some divots in the tub where the work was done and it is not completely smooth, feels wavy. However
Las Vegas Bathtub Refinishers Provider Name Locked
was late and then left to handle personal business. That was fine as he had someone there to work and clearly tub work is a tight job and one person. Then we he returned her brought the employees girlfriend with him. When I made it clear to
Las Vegas Bathtub Refinishers Provider Name Locked
I was uncomfortable with that he tried to say she was an employee but she clearly wasn't there to work. I have never had that kind of experience when dealing with a company and was in complete shock. Will not use again.

I contacted

the first week of
Las Vegas Bathtub Refinishers Provider Name Locked
2014. it took him a week to respond he said he would call me later that week but he never did.I sent him an E-mail on
Las Vegas Bathtub Refinishers Provider Name Locked
20th and he returned the E-mail on the 22nd saying that I was still on his list and he would contact me soon but low and behold it is now Aug 14th and he still has not called or even tried to get hold of me,,not a good way to expand his customer relations. He may be busy but that doesn't make up for not even contacting me .

Had a bit of a delay as provider had me confused with another customer. After initially having a little trouble getting in touch with
Las Vegas Bathtub Refinishers Provider Name Locked
, he came out and gave an estimate, explained everything, and set up the work schedule, which he stuck to. He was on time for all appointments, very neat. Time will tell, but appears that he did a great job, and spent the time to do it right. Very pleasant and easy to work with. Also gave instructions for care of the surface.
- Mary T.

No pricing given, no work performed, no phone calls returned. Can only assume that bathtub resurfacing business is apparently so busy there is no time for pricing, appointments or phone calls.
- Stuart R.

I contacted
Las Vegas Bathtub Refinishers Provider Name Locked
back in late
Las Vegas Bathtub Refinishers Provider Name Locked
to get pricing. I was researching companies. He was very honest and said, depending on the condition of the tub it could be anywhere from 300-700. I had taken a photo so I emailed it and he said based on the photo he thought it'd be about 300.00. That's what he ended up charging me.
I had to rearrange my appointment a number of times because my tile guy couldn't finish the bathroom.
Las Vegas Bathtub Refinishers Provider Name Locked
was flexible. I tried to give him at least a few days' notice.
The day of our appointment he showed up a little before the appointment and got right to work. He said the tub actually looked great and complemented the prior workmanship. The tub had been refinished before.
It was a two step process and the house smelled super chemically for a while. Of course, that's always worrisome but it's part of the process. It would have been at least 1000.00 for me to get another tub of that quality and so much work, that's why I have been opting for refinishing. He added a no slip finish on the bottom.
The tub gleams white now.
Las Vegas Bathtub Refinishers Provider Name Locked
definitely knows what he's doing. I'd recommend his service.
