Last summer, right before leaving town, I spent hours trying to find someone to fix my Fisher Paykel dryer. Half of the places I called had never even heard of the brand - of those who had, most refused to service them. I ended up with two choices and
gave me the soonest appointment, agreeing to come out same day. I thought it was my lucky day! He quickly diagnosed the problem and said it would take a couple of weeks to get the parts. He quoted me $200 or so and said he would apply the service fee to the repair cost. I was okay with that. Three weeks later, I started calling about the repairs and left several messages over the course of a week. Finally, after my husband left a very terse voicemail, we got a return call. It was only then that
admitted he was not authorized to service Fisher Paykel appliances and couldn't get Fisher Paykel parts. He promised to refund the service fee but never did. The guy knows his stuff because his diagnosis was confirmed by Same Day Service but they wanted nearly three times as much because, in order to guarantee the repair, they "needed" to replace a computer component that would "likely" fail. Long story short, I ditched the Fisher Paykel and bought a Maytag.

Thye technician's name was Arran and he quickly identified the problem and priced the service
He said he did not have the part on his truck but said he would call us back the next day regarding part availability and service time
He delivered as promised however he indicated that he could not get the part untill Tuesday
He advised me on
7 that he had the part and could be at the house at 8AM the next day
Arran showed up as promised and completed th repair
I found both the company and Arran very courtes and professional in their dealings with ame and would use them again and would highly recommend them for all Water Heater Repairs

Keep in mind this is New Year's Eve day, and many people have plans for the evening that might distract them from the mundane duties of a job. The service man who installed our water heater was pleasant and professional. He did a better job than the job that was done when we bought our new house. He worked efficiently, but took time to answer questions about other plumbing issues we had, as well as answering questions about the new water heater. This was positive experience.

back at 11:16 PM on 3/27 and told her that I had evidence that their technician had been to my home of 2/27/14 and that the technician had ordered a part for the repair. The technician then called me at 12:47 on 3/27/14 and had two stories as to why it was going to take well over seven weeks to make the repair. He told me that the repair order was misfiled under the wrong street address, and then he told me that the part had been back ordered. He stated that he should receive the part on April 18, 2014. The part was finally installed on April 21, 2014, but he back dated the invoice to February 28, 2014. The cost of service jumped from $79 to $481 and took over seven weeks instead of seven days. I was patient and waited for a month before contacting

I contacted Pro Serve and scheduled a service call for Monday 06/16/14. Pro Serve gave me a five hour window, 12:00 - 5:00 pm. Prior to their arrival I cleared the area for EASY access and laid out to new gate valves. At 3:05 two repairmen arrived and I met them in the garage and described the history and the need to have the new valve sweated in. The lead tech immediately told me that the new valves I had were the wrong valves (they were exact direct replacements from the manufacturer of the existing valve) and that it should be replaced with a ball valve. I stated that all I wanted was to have the new valve I had sweated in, that I was comfortable with the gate valve. The tech then told me how they would never use that type valve and that's why the valve failed, and tried to sell me a new valve. He then went on to tell me that it was likely that if he made the repair as I was asking that it would likely cause the adjacent water "bell" to leak. He claimed that the proper way to make the repair was to remove and reassemble the section including a new valve and bell to the tune of $300. Not being stupid or gullible I pointed out that the "bell" was easily removable as it was threaded on with gaskets and I was confident that simply sweating in the new valve I was providing wouldn't damage the bell once removed. Eventually the tech handed me his clipboard and asked for my signature acknowledging his warning to me that he could not guarantee that there would be no leaks and that if there were I was responsible for further costs. He also pointed out that on top of my Big Deal the repair would cost an additional $79. I explained that my coupon was for $200 worth of service and asked why the extra $79. He told me that's the fee for this job and they would leave and I could get someone else to make the repair if I didn't want them to do it. Reluctantly I signed and agreed to have the work done rather than throw away the money and time I already had committed to having Pro Serve do the repair. At 3:40, 35 minutes after their arrival the repair was done. This 35 minutes included all the discussion, sales pitches, condescending remarks and two personal cell phone calls the tech took while making the repair. When the water was turned on everything looked fine with no leaks. I went inside to get my check book to pay what felt like the extortion fee of an additional $79 and when I returned to the garage the tech pointed to the new valve which now showed a slight trickle of water and proudly exclaimed, "leak". Again not being stupid and now getting angry I said "tighten the nut", at that he took a wrench and easily tightened the top nut on the valve a quarter turn on like magic the leak stopped and has not returned. I saw about 20 minutes of work done during their 35 minute service call . I paid $158 for the repair and coupon. The coupon was valued at $200 and I paid an additional $79. So, the 35 minute service call, of which only 20 minutes was actual work, cost $279! And I had to put up with this guy's sales pitches, condescending

and what appeared to be sabotage or incompetence so he could proclaim "leak" as a final insult! After the techs left I called Pro Serve and asked for someone who could take a complaint. I was told that I was speaking to a dispatcher and that no managers were in but that she could take my complaint and pass it on. I briefly explained that I was unhappy with the service and asked that a manager call me. That was 11 days ago and no one has called. This was a horrible experience from start to finish and Pro Serve management apparently doesn't care. I will never use Pro Serve again. Overpriced, rude, and unresponsive. Throw in unnecessary up sells , threats of leaks if you don't do it their way with the parts they're trying to sell you and then pulling an unprofessional prank like discovering a leak they predicted, fixable with a turn of a nut. Worst service ever!

One of my two air conditioner units stopped working. Yesterday we had an air conditioner company come and evaluate the problem (this un-named company is an "A" member on Angie's List). We were told that the condenser wasn't' working - Repair - $3900, Replace with new Maytag - $9,900.

He was courteous and polite and gave me the feeling that he was genuinely concerned about the welfare of my plumbing installations in the house. Was not thrilled with the service, price or experience of the plumbers. I would think changing out the systems would be a fairly easy job. But they said the pipe was cut too short and they would do their best and hoped it wouldn't leak. That was the start of the dollar dance. There was no leaking when they took the

system out, but when the went to put the other system in they kept having a leaking issue with the flex line. Not with the pipe that they said was short, they were able to weld the pipes, but with the flex line that was attached. There was no issues with the flexline before they began the job, then they said the line was bad. Considering they cost around $50 each, I was upset. Like I said they weren't leaking before. Long story short, the $99 for $200 worth of work ended up costing me an additional $243($342 out of pocket). So a job that should have cost no more than a couple hundred ended up being $443. On another note, they didn't throw away or give me the 2 flex lines that were supposedly leaking, they put them in the truck. If they were bad wouldn't they throw them away or give them to me?

He asked questions to diagnose the washer problem, determined another company would be more appropriate for my repairs, and referred me to that company.
